I agree 100% with this FU. Plus, our gas company here is now proposing a "rate adjustment" if an area uses "too little" gas in a given period of time. So basically, they've been telling us to do everything we can to "conserve", but now want to penalize people who are successful at it with a surcharge. Die, you greedy fuckers!

We get charged a flat rate for sewer service by the township municipal authority because they can't meter our usage since we have a well. The flat fee is $133.34/quarter. This is for SEWER ONLY. At my old place, WATER AND SEWER COMBINED was never more than $80/quarter. At my wife's old place (in the same township), water and sewer combined was never more than $90/quarter.

We're paying like $30-$40 a month, simply because they claim they have no way to gauge our sewer usage. Every toilet in the house is the "water conserving" type, we have a brand new dishwasher that really is a water miser, and we have a front-load washing machine that uses 1/4 of the water that our old top-loader used. Nobody takes baths, everyone takes quick showers. I bet we put alot less into the sewer than most people, but we're paying top dollar.

Which is why I am glad I moved from NJ to Phoenix. I pay 535 a month including trash/sewer/water. For a 1br 1bath 700 sq ft on the ground floor. In a really good neighboorhood. yeah, my bills have been kicking my ass too. my dog died, so that's over $400 for veterinary costs. then both my cars broke down in the same week, so that's $350 for a fixed starter (which i have yet to pay, so my usual mechanic is pissed) and $150 for a new battery at another garage. then my phone bill this month is $140 (it's usually only 20-30 bucks) because someone cut my phone line outside and a wire technician had to come fix it. oh, and then there's the $260 for car insurance this month. so i'm about 700 bucks worse off than i was expecting to be at this point because of the vet costs, car repairs, and phone line damage, so i obviously don't have much petty cash, which means no Traveling Virus ticket for me, and i REALLY wanted to go and hang out with you maniacs. FUCK BILLS!

You don't get it. We have a WELL. The well pump is in our crawlspace. We don't get water from the township. We PAY FOR SEWER. Not a bad idea, but they don't do anything like this. The well is in my crawlspace and I'd have to let some schmoe in there to read the meter. If they setup some kind of remote to read it. And if they set up some kind of remote way to read it, they'd have no way to know if I bypassed the meter which would be a piece of cake.

Fuck those credit card companies, I don't give a fuck about them. The cool thing is that in Delaware; they only have 3 years to collect and then need to write it off. Also, If the acount is in only one of our names, they can't put a lean on the house that is in both names.

I know, I am an asshole, but I still say fuck them and their 28% interest rates.

If you have a boat load if debt, get a new car and decalre bankruptcy. They allow you to keep one car.

I still have the regular bills to pay, but oh well.

You'd better hope they're out of the SOL (statue of limitations). Sure, its 3 years - after the last payment. And believe me, if you're close to the end of the SOL and you own a house, be VERY prepared to get a summons to appear in court cuz they'll lien your house. They may even go after you AFTER the SOL is expired. Then you'll have to go to court and explain the situation to a judge, who just may not know jack shit about the Delaware laws concerning debt and rule in the collectors side anyway, then you'll have to appeal, go to county court and battle it all out there, hiring an attorney, etc, etc.

Debt collectors are shrewd now. They don't go after judgement proof lowlifes - if you have a house, you're a good target.

And if the account is in one name but debt accumulated after marriage, its considered "contributing to the maintenance of the house", which is in both your names.

I also hate those fucking pad day loan joints, they fuck up people so much, they act like they are helping people, but they are hurting people. I thought a loan shark was bad, some of those places charge 40% with all of the fees and crap.

The problam is, the following week, you need to come up with the money for your bills plug the money you owe plus 40%, basically the following week, you are fucked more than you were the previous week.

Fuck credit card companies. I wish these towel head would crash a plane in to the credit reporting agencies.

As for fucking up the interest rate for everyone else, if you have good credit you will get a good rate, if not that is your own fault.

I'm going to double check Delaware law, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter. The property is still in your name, so you're liable for the lien. Those stay for 10 years on the credit record. A lien is almost as bad as a bankruptcy.

If you ever decide to sell or refinance, you have to satisfy that lien. With interest.

Surprised they didn't go for the bank seizure or wage garnishment. More aggressive collectors do that - but some go for the sure fire way of making money, the lien.

I'm not trying to bust your balls. I felt sort of the same way you did, but years down the road when I desperately needed good credit it wasn't there. My attitude has completely changed now and I'm cleaning up my act and bringing my scores up. 5 years from now you may come across some sweetheart deal of a house, yet your credit will be fux0red and you won't be able to swing it.
