So I started a job that isn't great as you know from reading my other FUs, but the pay is what it is and there is medical coverage which is sufficient in case I face an emergency. The place is filled with a-hole bosses who refuse to lead or set up decent timetables to cover all tasks the company faces. As the new guy, I have to stay late indefinately to do call backs for people who aren't there to receive them because the token minorities bust out the door at 5:30 PM after a lomg day of non-work and cursing, whereas the white trash older folk have to go home to drink the rubbing alcohol they pass through bread first to make it drinkable (no, I wouldn't try that at home if I were you....) I can't say no, and it looks like I'll be the guy who stays indefinately (maybe till 10 PM some days) because a stupid schedule can't be worked out to divide the load, because others refuse to be trained, because the Hispanics they hire cannot speak well enough to handle a phone call (also in Spanish I suspect), and because management is afraid of these people (except me). Sure, I'll get overtime, but driving home late from New Jersey to Queens sucks, and the idiot management types seem to guard their positions to hinder advancement. You could reorganize the whole damned office for the better on a cocktail napkin, but they won't do it. Fuck idiot management.

I've got the same problem with the asshats at the company I work at. It's not a small company by any means and I have no idea how it got as big as it is. Gross mismanagement at all levels. The more useless and cunty these faggots are who are the "upper-ups", the higher they advance. I'm convinced the suits on the top floor just sit around and smell each other's farts all day because the decisions they make can't be thought-out and properly planned. Advancement is not based-on merit, my friend. I've learned many moons ago: It's not what you know, it's who you blow! That's why I'll never advance past middle-management. The bright side is that they all know I'm a "no bullshit" kinda guy and that I shoot straight with anyone/everyone I work with regardless of their position beneath or above me in the "foodchain". Maybe I'll be a "Big Cheese" one day. . .:icon_roll

I think this is the truth for 99% of companies though. The higher you go the dumber people get. I deal with the same shit at my company about that who ya know who ya blow bullshit. I have applied internally for the same position 3 different times in the last two years and each time it was given to people who are less qualified. I'm not some arrogant asshole who thinks the world of myself but I have done the job function before but just haven't gotten the title and pay. I don't mind helping other depts out but if I am going to do the job for year and not get the promotion well fuck you. I gave up on it though and I am looking at a slightly different path now.

And to make things sillier, get this, I got a $300 bonus today along with four other people for guess what? Showing up on time! (9 AM) for work. We're all eligible for a $125 a month bonus if we continue to do so, to 'motivate' people to come in on time and do the job we're paid to do. I think the cash is great, and I can pretty much count on it as I have to go through the Throgs Neck to get to the Cross Bronx to get to the George Washington Bridge so I have to be early and leave enough time in case something goes wrong along the route so I can still be on time (I average getting there a little past 8 AM, sometimes early if traffic is light, which is ok by me because I have the time to myself and I can listen to the b-b-b-boys). Little Jimmy's comment about melatonin and punctuality is true, I wish the company would fire all the losers (guess which hues they are?) and things would be way better. The cash is good though.

We have this a-hole who thinks he's a head manager or something, even though he does the same job as I do as a new hire, (no, he didn't get the $300, the know-it-all) and he helps out in the other department, and he wants to rope me in there. I don't mind helping out once in a while, but I need to leave at 5:30 PM or 6 PM because the commute back takes a while and I need my rest before the whole process starts again. I could care less about the additional two hours overtime. I wish this ass would know his place, and upper management would hire another person to work the other department or assign someone on a schedule basis so another person doesn't need to be stuck all the time, that other person being me. I can only tolerate this up to a point, but I don't care about him and his need to practice with his band because they're going to make it 'big' one day. Asking me to stay after work when its 4 PM is classless to say the least, and I'm not particularly concerned about the added 'experience' I may get, my brain is pretty much gone at that time. Concentrating on the ride home via the Pallisades Parkway and back the route I described is no picnic, and requires concentration. I ust wish someone had the brains to plan ahead.

I have to deal with a used car salesman from hell of a plant manager at work. He gets these dumb ideas at the worst times and just makes a disaster out of it, and will lie straight to your face.

Wow! I wish they offered that at my job...I'd have an extra 125 every month since I began my job. I mean I know my commute is pretty short but shit man. You must have some real fucking losers at your place for management to offer that as an incentive. It's taxed right? Most places do that and it kinda sucks but hey...

reading this it makes me happy that I own my own company.

I know up here in the trades and the oilfield they are having a real problem with shitdicks being in charge as they promote anyone that sticks around for any period of time with the labour shortage we're having.

amen....management sucks!!!

Ours just came up with a budget to sell 10x the amount of one of our products next year...great, right?

WRONG! We can't make the product stabilize for any length of time...maybe 2 months for a product that the customer needs for a year. They won't buy the equipment needed to produce it correctly or even close to correctly...and won't listen to anyone who says we can't do it now.

WRONG (the sequel): after 2 minutes of research...the amount they want to sell is equal to 4 TIMES THE AMOUNT EVERY COMPANY THAT MAKES THIS PRODUCT (it's a VERY specialized market) IN THE WORLD HAS SOLD THIS YEAR...COMBINED!!!

FU to howie math, and budgeting shit so NO ONE can make our bonuses this year. I hope the CEO can read a spreadsheet and fires your fucking ass next week.

I also like when Idiot management doesn't stock the bread and butter of your business, the standard stuff you have to have on hand because its the most used and requested items you and the industry deal with. Sure, pack and continue to order all the oddball one-offs that you sell once in a blue moon, and don't get on the manufacturer's case because you don't have the basics to send out. I can see that overtime would be very productive in calling people after 5 PM (if they're still there) to say we don't have the basic item on hand. Heck, the overtime makes up for the abuse leveled, and the lack of sleep.

BTW, the savages who didn't get cash for being remotely on time of course now hold those who show up to do their job in contempt. It seems they shoudl be pid for NOT working, it isn't enough the pregnant pig gets money for tlking on the phone with her family and friends from all over ever day on the company's dime. The company exists to address HER needs, I suppose, and not vice versa.

And a special FU to the cocksucker who keeps asking questions after we had a meeting after work (5:30 PM) and after the boss was done with what he had to say in about ten minutes (can't blame the boss, because he's on a well deserved vacation, and you can't get these a-holes to attend a meeting when we start work, because half of them aren't there). Yes, loser, no one sees past your attempts at kissing ass, and no, management don't see what you do as a cry for attention instead of a display of aptitude. Bastard.

Undermine all your no good fuck co-workers in a subtle way around your spineless bosses, try and get in on your bosses good side and network your way to their higher ups, undermine the spineless bosses. Take their jobs, rinse & repeat. Welcome to corporate america kiddo.
