A 90 degree elbow in the copper piping that goes to our toilet in the downstairs powder room apparently has a had a pinhole leak for who the fuck knows how long. It's not even in the solder joint, its right in the center of the bend in the 90, a pinhole in the copper.
[Psycho Mark] Needless to say, [/Psycho Mark] it of course was inside a wall. So, my father-in-law and I spent all afternoon before I went to work ripping out soggy drywall and insulation. Going to fix the pipe tomorrow, then have to do new drywall, insulation ,ad then paint. Also have to replace the baseboard molding as well because it was all fucked up. It's about 6' of drywall/molding inside the bathroom and then about another 8' or so outside the bathroom at the back of our family room (same wall).
We started getting mold on the baseboard inside the bathroom and after cleaning it up 2x with bleach and stuff and it kept coming back we started to investigate.
What fucking sucks is this shit is all brand new. This bathroom and family room were all done just over a year ago, right before we bought the house. The powder room was added at the rear of the family room. It was framed out as was the entire family room itself with aluminum studs and new drywall/insulation. It apparently wasn't fully finished when the house was built originally built. Behind the drywall/studs is painted stucco which is the inside of the exterior walls of the house.
