Daycare Operator Charged With Child Molestation

(Seattle, WA) -- A man who operates a pair of daycare centers in Seattle schools is in custody on a charge of child molestation. King County Superior Court documents allege the 34-year-old unidentified suspect assaulted one child, who told an adult what allegedly happened. Seattle police are releasing little if any information but did say it's believed only the one child was victimized and that the molestation was ongoing for at least the past year.

I am not trying to defend the guy..... but can kids make up stuff like this? Maybe not making it up, but maybe a guy hugged the kid and the kid mentioned it to the parents. Now if I were a parent and my kid said some teacher or babysitter 'hugged' them, I would assume the worst.

I guess what I am trying to ask is.....how often do you think someone is arrested and shit because of the kid not understanding what bad "touching" is? I mean a parent can pretty much tell a kid what to think just by asking "are you sure he didn't do this? Or that?
You know what I mean.

Yes. This happens sometimes. In fact, this happens a lot. Remember, though, that the cases of false accusation are usually resolved before they make it to the news.

What scares me are the cases where REAL molestation does NOT make it to the news. I know of a school (that I may or may not have worked in at the time) where a 7th grade female teacher seduced a high school girl while chaperoning a school campout. They carried on an affair for a little while before the student's parents found out. The teacher lost her job and credentials immediately, and will (probably) not teach again in that state. BUT because the parents did not want their daughter humiliated in public, they never pressed charges against the teacher.

At the time, all I could say was "This story is meaningless without pictures."
