First of all it was a phenominal show.

Im fucking pissed I forgot my camera though. I really wanted to get a picture with O & A and the comedians.

First of all, Saget, Patrice, May, Vos, Kelly, Morgan and Norton all killed. As did O & A of course.

There was a group of people in the front left section that was constantly booing some of the comedians before they even got rolling. Those fucking jerkoffs are an embarrassment to the Philadelphia fans and I just want to say I hope they all get lost on the ride home and wind up getting robbed an gang***** by the Camden shwoogies.

Shubert got booed out of the building but I have to say he really did suck. His mistake was trying to completely ignore the boos and move on.

Dom Irera got some laughs but those mother fuckers up front just kept booing and booing. It rattled him. Even though he did make some good comebacks they just didnt let up. Now Dom's a funny mother fucker. And hes been doing stand-up for over 20 years. AND hes a local boy that always talks good about Philly. It was disgraceful.

But the best part of the show came when Bill Burr came on. Immediately the fucks in the front left started booing Bill before he even started. Well he did something I never expected but I am very proud of him for. He compleletely went off. He tore into these mother fuckers for his entire set. He ripped Philly for everything from Rocky, to the Eagles, Flyers, Phillies and cheesesteaks. He called them fucking losers and assholes and said they should die of cancer and heart disease and should be carjacked by the Camden homies and each one *****. He even wished the Ben Franklin bridge would collapse.

The crowd ate it up. He got cheered almost the whole time. He was counting down 7 minutes....5 minutes...I loved it.

So from me and the majority of the fans on the lawn...

BRA-FUCKING-VO Bill Burr. Thank you.
And please dont let those few pieces of shit in that front left section sour you on the city of Philly. Although I am one of those fucking fanatics that boo and throw snowballs and all the rest of that shit, true Philly fans only boo those who deserve it. And you did not.

Anyway it was an awesome show and yes, I am still PISSED i forgot my fucking camera.

How is it the motherfuckers who paid the most for their tickets would try to ruin the show???? Its one thing if the guy bombs....but they werent even giving them time to get started.

They even tried booing Patrice who also railed into them. I love him too. "You motherfuckers make me sick." That was awesome. Its a shame the donkeys in the right hand section didnt have enough brains or balls to start an ASSHOLES chant at the left.

I wanted to start it but out on the lawn it was mostly drunks and stoners and theres no way it wouldve worked.

Bill Burr is GOD!

I just got back as well, and agree with most of the above.

I thought that overall Bob Kelly did the best of all of the comedians. Patrice, Vos and Jimmy were also very funny.

But watching Billy Burr go out there and take on all 10,000 people in that stadium, was fucking priceless. That moment will be something I will never forget.

There was a row of fans in the back left of the seated area that were booing ever comedian almost as soon as they got on stage. Shubert was the first to go, and they were all over him. His material probably deserved it, but not within the first few seconds of his set let alone the first act of the night. They continued this for the entire evening with limited success because most of the peoeple in the stadium were supportive of the other comedians. It got ugly with Irera, and then exploded with Billy. He took care of it like comics do by attacking the patrons and trying to walk the room, the only difference was he was doing it to 10,000 people. It was spectacular.

it was fucking amazing - Best Overall would have to be Norton, Vos and Bobby kelly as expected. Everyone else was right behind him except shubert who fucking got booed out...what a hack this guy was, not only did the material and delivery blow but he didn't show one sign of acknowledging that he was fucking bombing.

I was fucking amazed that billy burr got booed, they were brutal. I loved his tirade but wished i could've heard his actual set...because the only joke he got off was the hitler one.

Also the strippers were good (obviously would be better naked) and i loved the dru boogie.

Had a great time and couldnt imagine anything better for a fun time

I thought the boo's were coming from the lawn area, I was down in 104 so I could be wrong. Shubert was awful, kept trying his 3 minute long bits while being booed, he didn't know what to do about it. Irrera brought old old material, so I was disappointed in him.
Billy Burr is the fuckin man! He did almost none of what he planned and still killed. That 14 minute rant against the booers was awesome.
Show was great, tailgate was great, pics will come tomorrow, I so tired now.

There was a point when Dom said "what, you don't like me anymore?" and you could see on his face that he wasn't sure what to do. After the third "Go Eagles!" he didn't have anything left to do and he ended his set. I was preety pissed overall.

If they weren't paying for the seats (i.e., SFN paying for the tickets as an attack) they did not lose anything. I agree they didn't ruin the show, but only because Billy put a stop to it. If Bill had punked out like Shubert, and to a certain extent Irera, that show could have gotten really ugly.

Shubert's death was a thing of beauty if you enjoy cringe moments. His major downfall was just trying to plow through the booing. While as pointed out the left section (you people should be hung from the bridge) started the booing, but by the time Shubert punched out the entire place was heckling him off stage. Shubert also got a smashing round of boos during the curtain call.

Bill Burr got more laughs destroying the crowds then he probably would have doing his regular set in front of a regular crowd. The one thing I noticed were that several of his opening jokes were things we've all heard on the show very recently in studio (the Hitler joke for example), while everyone else other than Jimmy sets aren't so show related. I have to say that equally as entertaining as Bill's profanity laced tirade were the people in the crowd in my section who were standing up and flipping Bill the double-duece, and screaming at him from 20 rows away. These drunk asses were seriously angry at Bill for trashing Philly, especially the comment where he hoped Donavan McNabb breaks both his legs tomorrow. But to those mornons...he can't hear you and if he could he doesn't care, sit the fuck down.

Vos, Bob Kelly, Saggot & Norton were on fire; with Saggot and Jimmy getting standing "O's" at the end of their respective sets. Tracy Morgan, Ralphie, & Patrice also did well, despite the left field shits trying to turn on Patrice.

The Dom Irera situation was ugly. He had the crowd for a minute or two, then those fucks out there started up on him and while he tried to address it, and plow on, the material he was doing was 5+ years old which didn't help anything. But I have to wonder why people who spent $65 per ticket were acting like such shitdicks.

The b-b-b-b-boys showed a few clips on the screens, but it was all stuff we've all seen if you ever keep track of the videos (Letterman, WYSP version of the commercial, Jimmy's Hammerstein Ballroom commercial, the Opie & Jimmy bathroom video) and after Irera and Burr getting booed, the crowd was actually in one of those mumbly teetering moods and it could have gotten ugly for them as well except that the were intro-ing Jimmy. Bravo guys for having him close the show, had they ended it with Billy it would have been a catastroph(e).

Most entertaining in-crowd moment was the poor shlep in front of me and my fiancee. He brought along his girl who he must have had to sedate to get inside, because she was not into ANYONE. This poor guy was REALLY excited to see Jimmy, and this girl had her arms crossed and if she wasn't glaring at him, she was staring straight ahead ignoring him. She was such a big C she finally drug him out in the middle of the set. I personally would have had her walk home and let her deal with Camden.

Carlos was never scheduled for this show. During one of his call-ins, he said that he always had had a conflict with the Boston and Philly shows.

Tonights show was great but it could have been better. The assholes booing really took some steam out of the whole show. It wasn't only in the front. I was sitting in the middle and the assholes in the back were doing it to.

Most of the comics were great and I have to give it to Vos he really was good. I just can't believe that those were all O&A fans booing like that. Eventhe boys looked off tonight a little. I think it put out a bad energy in the whole show.

Bill Burr did a great job dealing with it, but I hate to say Bob Kelly really killed tonight. All in all it was a good night and a lot of fun. I would go again. Monday should be very intresting. It was cringe tonight pure cringe.

I think they all agreed Shubert bombed. Thats why they all laughed and made jokes about it. Seriously, Tracy, Patrice, Vos, and O & A all joked about Shubert.

But I think it took them back a little when Irera got booed considering the guys been around for a long time and was a bigtime hometown boy.

Then when Bill Burr got booed thats when they realized people were just being assholes. Thats why Opie said how proud and amazed he was by Bill Burr like 5 times.

Frogacuda
09-10-2006, 01:21 AM
Shubert, May, Irrera, and Burr all got booed by these drunk animals, and they all handled it differently.

Shubert started doing airline jokes and the crowd immediately turned on him. He pretended nothing was happening until no one could even here him over the angry roar of the crowd. It was incredibly uncomfortable.

Ralphie had a pretty good set, but he told a joke that went on a little too long and the crowd started booing again. He made a snappy comeback, got a big laugh and immediately left before he could lose them again.

Poor Dom Irrera got booed for no reason as best I can tell. He acknowledged it, but told the crowd to go fuck themselves and kept plowing through bits. He was clearly shaken, though so he wasn't much good after it went downhill and he couldn't recover.

And Bill was, of course, the hero of the night. He got booed 2 minutes into his set for telling a bit he's done on the show. I guess they wanted new shit. So he gave it to them. He decided that if he was going to be the bad guy, he was going to be the best goddamn baf guy of all time. He went on a tirade that I'm sure will become legendary wishing every kind of misfortune possible on the audience and counting down to the end of his set. The thing is, the audience loved every second of it, and they cheered for him as he left the stage. It was the highlight of the night. I was doubled over gasping for air I was laughing so hard.

I was in section 104(row b) and my general area was not booing the comedians, it was those fucking animals on the lawn...spend $11 or more if you want to boo next time.
I have lived in Philly my entire life and have never been more embarrassed to be a Philadelphian. Shubert sucked so that was okay, Dom is a comedy legend, regardless of his "old material" have some respect. Booing Billy Burr? How quickly people forget the radio gold he gives when on the third or fourth mic. Kudos to Saget, Bob Kelly, Goddam Rich Vos, Patrice, Ralphie. and Morgan...Lil' Jimmy was incredible. Good times overall...But, to the 3 shitdicks behind me tonight: I felt like i was in a Magic johnson multiplex during Scary Movie 4. STOP REPEATING EVERY FUNNY LINE FROM THE COMEDIANS. To you sirs i say: (if I may Jimmy?) Flush your xm down the toilet, buy a Sirius and go fuck your mothers. Nobody puts asses in the seats like Greg and Tony. You guys are the best.

Not to change your point but it certainly wasn't the from left portion of the crowd that was booing all night. I was in section 104 (row f) and the booing sounded like it came from way back, like lawn section. All in all a good night of comedy. I think Norton, Kelly, Saget, and Morgan has the best sets; Kelly probably had the best (if I had to rate em).
Me and three friends of mine (including the wife) were the last people (there were 4 people behind me, actually) in line to meet and greet OnA and friends after the concert. It was about two hours after the concert ended and most of the entertainment (OnA plus) still seemed to care about us at the end of the line. Patrice and Norton seemed a little out of it and just wanted to get it over with but that's understandable. Bob Saget for some reason (maybe family reasons) wasn't at the autograph tables and some guy Pat (I don't know who it is) was at the end next to Ant's chick.

First of all it was a phenominal show.

I had two vantage points for the show, so I think the booing came from the further back on the left. I was out on the left side lawn in the middle of the hill for the first half of the show, and the boos were pretty sporatic, except for Shubert. It all seemed to come from in front of me in the seats. For the second half, I snuck up to empty seats alongside a couple of friends in 104. The boos definitely seemed to come from behind and around the middle. The show was hilarious overall, but it was a bit disappointing that the crowd didn't give a couple of the guys much of a chance. At least that brought out Mr. Burr's beautiful rant that should be studied by comedians for generations to come.

I totally agree. My fiancee was shocked that I didn't want to stay for pics and autographs. Hell, I even took off work on Friday to drive 1.5 hours and hang outside WYSP. But I just wasn't in the mood after the show.

Oh... and honestly, I can't say for sure if Shubert sucked -- I couldn't hear a damn thing he was saying after about 2 minutes into his set and I doubt anyone else could either.

I'm not a Vos fan but he did well -- and kept things together after the Shubert incident. Patrice seemed a little all over the place with his act. I think if he didn't stumble onto the whole sex-acts thing to save himself, he was in serious danger of getting more boos from the a-holes. Heck, there were some cringe moments when I was thinking that O&A were going to get some boos during the whole Letterman and various commercial bits.

I would be surprised if this whole show didn't knock O&A's opinion of Philly down a little bit. I know they say they love us, but even I am disgusted of us at this point.

I agree. We were in sec 103 and it was mostly coming from the left rear, either lawn or pavilion. Later on it started on the right rear, same area(s). Overall it was a good show. I had a really good time. Yet, I was a little disappointed having driven nearly 700 miles with two kids and a wife to see the show. However, growing up here I can see the mentality. One suggestion, no homo, trim the time for the pole sliders. That may have contributed to the energy loss. It was about a ½ hour intromission that could have been complimented with another “MC”, instead of a “father’s disappointment” gyrating the entire time. Did Vos have to move his shitty Ebay car from a meter to a free spot? Billy, “I got respect for this kid. He's got a lot of fucking balls. Good for you, don't take no shit of nobody. He shoots him in the foot he tells him to go fuck himself.”

speaking of ants mom, didnt realize it but i was in row in front of her...SHE IS HOT!!!!!!!OPIE WAS RIGHT ALL ALONG!!! By the way i thought i saw no filter paul ...a few rows ahead of me in like row 5 maybe...anyone know if that was him?

Big A and No Filter Paul were there (along with Patty and Pat from Monachee, I believe). I was stuck outside the gate with both of them (and about 5 lovely ladies) for about 45 minutes; they said no re-entry was allowed (I left because I didnt know where OnA were doing the meet and greet) but finally a security manager came along and let me and my three friends in (since we all had tickets).

I didnt get to hear if Shubert was funny or not over the booing. I thought it was a bit much but whatever. Dom I. tried to plow through it but gave up but god damn Bill Burr made me howl. I LOVED LOVED LOVED every single fucking second of his Philly fan bashing. Loved it. My favorite line was him wrecking Philly for putting up a statue of a three foot tall fictional Italian boxer. He of course made it funnier.

I enjoyed everyones set but Bill Burr showed how talented and witty he was tonight by just counting down the minutes of wrecking horrible Philadelphia. Philly fans seem to never let me down on how truely obnoxious they are....

To all of the "comic critics" out there who were booing because some of the comedians talk about things other than tea bagging and pedophile god forbid, FUCKING DIE!!! Most of the O&A fans are great people but theres this section of you, and you know who you are, who are just complete wastes of life douche bags. The fucking balls to boo a comedic legend like Dom Irrera and a show favorite like Billy Burr is just pathetic. Jimmy Shubert deserved it because, like others have pointed out, he tried to ignore the heckling and just rush through his routine like nothing was happening. His act has been the exact same for the last 5 years and its just not funny... But seriously, trying to boo off everyone because its not ALL over the top sexual deviant comedy is lame. Can someone please tell me why all of the booing started from the back left up in the lawn area? Were you cheap asses that upset because you weren't really part of the whole thing?

Bill Burr got more laughs destroying the crowds then he probably would have doing his regular set in front of a regular crowd. The one thing I noticed were that several of his opening jokes were things we've all heard on the show very recently in studio (the Hitler joke for example), while everyone else other than Jimmy sets aren't so show related.

Exactly on the money. Bill Burr is a funny man, and the fans do love him, but he did come out with material right off the show. And that material killed on the show so the idea is there. But it was just boring to listen to the 2nd time around. It probably kills in a small club in a non-O&A dominated event. But to come right off the bat with it, got no response in an already time when the show in general was bombing. He recovered nicely which was why the crowd was eating up his tirade, because the fans wanted to love him. And I really think he was genuinally pissed the crowd got on Irrera.

Irrera was never given a chance. Because he isnt a show regular, the fans just wouldnt let up on him after one bomb. If he was a regular i think there would have been more patience. I really feel bad for him.

Jimmy was good, not unbelievable but a good set. Its tough to listen to Jimmy to "current events" jokes because some of it is either dated, or the fact that we hear his commentary and jokes about those events immediately following the event on the show every day. So the ideas and jokes he uses seem a little more worn out.

Bob Kelly absolutely killed. He had the perfect set. No "current events" stuff that was dated. Stuff I never heard him do before (that said I only saw him 1 time before), and he kept nailing great joke after great joke.

Overall a great show, but I want to see how O and A talk about the crowd on the show, especially their killing of the 2 comics they brought in for this show.

A sizable minority of the crowd really just seemed to be there ready to pounce on any lull or joke that wasn't right on. Dom didn't deserve what he got, even if his material wasn't hitting with every single joke. Bill Burr then got the tail end of that and really shoved it down their throats. What amazed me was that a good amount of people were still booing Bill through his brilliant hate-filled attacks. His joke about the crowd just wanting him to talk about his dick was the most brilliant observation of the night.

It certainly wasn't the lawn. There wasn't enough of a concentration of people to get those sounds. The boos were rolling from the back of the left side seats, at least from my vantage point. Then it seemed a bunch of other douchey idiots picked up on it so there were these rolling, sporatic boos echoing around the area. Shubert was the only one who really should have lost the crowd, and even the boos on the lawn for him weren't that loud.

Seriously, I thought that Schubert bombed intentionally as did Irera. I thought the whole thing was a setup for Bill Burr to change his act and just lambaste the Philly crowd. My first thought was "my god he's having a meltdown". Then I thought that the whole thing was a setup. Maybe I'm wrong. Unless he had it in his head early on that he wasn't going to take any shit from the crowd. Let's face it...those were some rowdy motherfuckers out there tonigh and they weren't giving comedians, other than Norton, too much of a chance.

One guy I who was far better this time than PNC was Tracy Morgan. He was hysterical from the get-go. His set was infinitely better than PNC.

We were sitting on the lawn until we managed to get our hands on some pit tickets and then sat a few seats over from Ant's mom for Bill and Jimmy. It was excellent.

Best Part... Burr, after yelling at the crowd "So i bought a new computer this week"

In actuallity, most of the lawn fans were too fucked up to even organize a group booing.

My girl went to get me a drink, and this random chick came up to the group of guys sitting next to me. This chick starts putting her hands and face on this guys crotch while his friend starts taking pictures. I couldnt believe it. She was completely fucked up. So one of the guys looks at me and says "She's not your girl is it?" To which I had to reply "Buddy, if that was my fuckin chick she have 2 black eyes and a broken nose right about now."

just got home. tailgate was great. not as great as the PNC tailgate, but still fun hanging with you fuckers for a few drinks. i'm so fucking tired from all the driving.

i was sitting in the center area of the lawn, and the boos did come from the seats on the left, then i think the left side of the lawn picked up the boos. i heard the boos and cringed too because i knew it was going to get ugly.

Shubert was sweating bullets. the boos started, but he just tried not to acknowledge the boos and hurried through his set as quickly as he could. Irrera handled it a little better, at least he didn't panic like Shubert did. Billy Burr handled the boos perfectly. after seeing Shubert and Irrera go down, he knew it was unlikely he'd be able to stop them from booing him too because the boos catch on and pretty soon everyone is booing. so when the booing started, he just lambasted the crowd for the rest of his set. he fought back and earned the crowd's respect.

and i hate when people take shit too seriously. i got back to my van and sat in it for a while to let the traffic die down before leaving. i saw this one moron who clearly took Burr's remarks about the Eagles (and just about every Philly icon for that matter) way too seriously, so he was stalking around the parking lot and circling his own car in drunken anger about it. i think Philly fans are a close second to Boston fans when it comes to the "asshole sports fan that takes it too seriously" category.

bra-fucking-vo to billy.  by our count, they booed shubert, irrera, patrice, ralphie, and billy. there was definitely a tension there where if a comic didn't keep up a steady stream of jokes with little set-up, you felt like they were going to get it. (we were in far right section of seats) we were really surprised they booed patrice and billy, given that they kill on third mike on a regular basis and weren't show-unknown comics just brought in for this show, like shubert.
since we were on the far right, we could see people standing on the stage behind the bar- there was a big crowd of people from backstage, including patrice and bob kelly, who came out to watch billy a few minutes into his rant. again, to billy!

I think only jimmy, and may robert kelly weren't booed. I felt bad for dom irrera, because he's funny, and he wasn't that bad. Bill Burr's set made up for it. For those who missed it, I hope someone puts it on youtube, because it was a thing of genius. He berated philly for 10 minutes. Really a great show all around.

No one other than Schubert actually deserved to be booed, but Billy Burr saying he hopes the Eagles never win the Super Bowl (and Donavan McNabb breaking both of his legs) struck a nerve. Pure genius though, because I was cracking up and cheering and booing in one ridiculous moment that only a Philadelphian can understand. One of his better lines had to be that he hoped our “one bridge” would collapse and kill all of us.

I would seriously kill for the Eagles. It's that much of a passion and in, Philly, we consider booing a birthright. The night before opening day, fueled by a baker's dozen of 22 oz. Miller Lite's, and caught up in the flow of the mob, booing seemed as natural as lil’ Kimmy Gibbler’s teenage breasts.

Sorry, if my booing (only for Billy Burr, Schubert and moderately for Patrice O’Neill’s anti Philly rants) ruined anyone’s good time, but I think the boos inspired pure comedic genius from Mr. Burr. Friggin’ amazing to believe that was completely unrehearsed. I was so filled with hatred yet truly laughing my ass off.

Dom Irrera getting booed was total BS, by the way. Funniest sets were definately Bob Kelly, Tracey Morgan, Bob Sagat and lil' Jimmy Norton.

I totally agree. My fiancee was shocked that I didn't want to stay for pics and autographs. Hell, I even took off work on Friday to drive 1.5 hours and hang outside WYSP. But I just wasn't in the mood after the show.

Weird dude, I did the same things. My fiancee was surprised I wanted to leave early and I took off work to be at the station on Fri. I got pics with the bbboys then and got a tshirt too.

If you were one of the fucks booing Burr and the others (except Shubert because he DID suck), I hope you get AIDS.

It could have been a much better show if the shitdicks didn't try to roooooooooon it. Bob Kelly was phenominal and NORTON KILLED!

Oh, another thing.
A big FUCK YOU to the fat fuck sitting in the corporate seats at the rear of section 102 right behind my big water-filled head. This fuckin' piece of shit and the AIDS ridden hole he had with him were booing Bill Burr from the second he came out and they have no idea why. I swear to Christ I hope they hit a tree and both died on their drive home.

Funniest sets were definately Bob Kelly, Tracey Morgan, Bob Sagat and lil' Jimmy Norton.

are you fuckin sirious dude, you booed? wtf is wrong with you, its not all about you douchebag.

shoulda just sat back and enjoyed the show man.

Yeah, uh, I couldn't sit back and enjoy the show, becasue I was in the lawn section and I couldn't bring my chair in because it was more than nine inches off the ground, so I was actually standing by the rail of the lawn section. I am not proud of booing, but I think the boos really did inspire something pretty special.

Sorry again to everyone who took offense to it, but it really adds to the legend of Philadelphia classlessness, and I that I love.

First, the energy walking into the place was amazing. I ended up getting there late because Philly public transportation takes forever. I got in at about 7:30, which I later found out caused me to only miss Jimmy Schubert. As I walked in, Rich Vos was hosting and about to bring out the next comic. He said a line that didn't make much sense at the time, but I later found out was pretty funny: "Wow, I bet you guys never thought you'd be happy to see me again."

Tracey Morgan was up next. He did an alright set, but it felt like not much of it was written comedy and was actually just funny stuff a guy can get away with because he's black. If it was a white comic, I doubt his set would have been as funny, but again, it wasn't a bad set.

After Morgan came Ralphie May. He was alright seeing as how I never find him funny on the show. His standup isn't centered around being fat, but it also isn't really centered at all. He riffed on midgets for a bit, which was kind of funny. His set went better than Tracey Morgan's, though, because some of his jokes had actual punchlines. Still not a lot of actual jokes, though.

Next was Patrice O'Neill, which, as Vos put it, ended the colored portion of the show. Patrice was fine for what he does. His set reminded me of his appearances on the show. Lots of buildup for little to no payoff. He talked a lot about relationships, which I guess he felt was his strongpoint in an O&A crowd, but it left me somewhat bored. He did better than the previous two comics at making me laugh, so that was a plus.

Then Bob Saget came up. I'd heard his schtick was pretty much cursing with some guitar at the end, and that description was pretty apt. I felt a little bad for him because it felt like he sold out his comedy soul for the easy laughs of making fun of his role as Danny Tanner on Full House. Too much focus on dirty Full House references, and his brief forays into the movie business (see: Dirty Work and Half Baked). He tried to set up a recurring joke, which I felt bombed, so it wasn't any funnier when he brought it up for the 4th time during his guitaring. He riffed a little by mixing his interactions with the croud into some short songs. He finally ended his set with a song about why Danny Tanner wasn't gay (he never answered that; he just made more Full House references).

Intermission came up, which meant a bunch of hot strippers who weren't allowed to get naked. The bonus to the break was Dru Boogie mixing show references in with popular songs (to Gnarles Barkley's Crazy, he mixed in "O&A fans are crazy / R&F fans are crazy / etc"). He ended his little DJing bit with a funny mix about Opie wanting to hear buttery beats. Then a little video mix of a bunch of show highlights brought the intermission to an end.

From here Opie and Anthony took over as hosts, and they played parts of their Letterman appearance, later on their commercial, and finally the shower **** video. They also walked around the crowd taking video of WoWs and shaking hands. They had 3 security guys with them, which tempted me to yell out "Nice security, faggeets," but I refrained, and they made it safely past my row without incedent.

The next comedian up was Bob Kelly. In my opinion he had the best standup set of the night. I wasn't expecting much, but his set had a focus, tight setups, and good timing on the punchlines. He had everyone laughing constantly without having to resort to any comedy crutches. He felt very comfortable in front of the huge crowd, and they responded well to him.

After Bob came Dom Irrera. First let me say that I found out during the break that I had only missed Jimmy Schubert's set, which made me happy because I would have been pissed if I missed Bill Burr's. I then found out that Schubert got boo'ed off the stage. Anyway, Irerra came out and did a good, solid, 10 minute chunk of material. The crowd was decently laughing, even though his material seemed a bit out of date. He did impressions of black guys, Irish guys, and Italian guys, but the impressions were mixed in with decent jokes. At about the 10 minute mark, he started losing the crowd. He was telling a really long, boring story that seemingly had no end, and that's when the crowd started to boo. He tried to reign them in by saying "Go Eagles!" and repeating his history of having grown up in Philly. That staved off the crowd for a little bit, but a few minutes later, the crowd was booing again. It eventually got so bad he asked "What, you don't like me anymore?" He then told us that he wouldn't leave until his time was up, which was only a few more minutes, but he had nothing left to say, so he walked off after a minute or two.

Now Dom Irrera's performance was so bad that the crowd was already booing when Bill Burr came out onto the stage. Now, as everyone probably knows, I'm one of the biggest Burr fans. I'll admit that the standup he started with was a bit shoddy, as most O&A fans had already heard it if they payed attention at all. About 5 minutes in, with boos still going off and on, Billy snapped. He yelled at the crowd "You fucks boo'ed off Dom Irrera?" I hope you all fucking die. Fuck all of you." He then went on to do about 20 minutes straight of the most brutal insults he could think off directed at the crowd. He did everything, and especially focused on insulting Philly, which he felt was at the heart of the booing. I eventually had to convince myself that what he was saying was no longer funny because of how much my face hurt. He tore into these fucking pests with a vengeance. It was so raw and so hate-driven that I could not stop laughing. It was pure genius. After almost every insulting riff, he would say "xx minutes left" as he counted down how much time he had left on his set. In the last 5 minutes, he calmed down a bit, but he still hurled a few insults, then left the stage once his time was done. A bunch of us gave him a standing ovation when he left, because he was pure awesome.

After Bill Burr came Norton, who had the crowd laughing constantly. I think people were afraid to boo him for fear of getting the shit kicked out of them by hardcore O&A loyalists. His set was funny, but I think he would have gotten boo'ed if he wasn't Norton. It seemed like he had a very long set to close the show, which he did a good job of. IMO, Bob Kelly and Bill Burr both did a funnier set. There was nothing spectacular about his time, except that any time he even got the hint that he was losing the crowd, he did a show reference like Frank the Frowner. He kept the crowd in check, which was good. I felt bad, though, because I always feel like Jimmy is so much better at riffing on the show than he is as an actual comic.

Finally, O&A came out and announced that they would be signing autographs and meeting people along with all the comedians at the show at the back. That's when me and my friend bolted.

All in all, I think I got my money's worth. I kind of wished Mencia would have been there to catch the brunt of the booing and to make him cry, but he wasn't. My friend who I brought with me enjoyed the show way more than I did despite him not being an O&A listener. I guess everything seemed more fresh and exciting to him, which is completely my fault for knowing pretty much all the punchlines to all the jokes.

Thought the show was great. I was in the pit row 8 on the right side of the stage and the booing was coming from behind me and way to the left back around were the indoor section ended. Burr fing killed.

I'd also like to give a big f u to the three 500 pound guys who tried to cram thier fat asses into the three seats next to me. One of them was sitting on my lap. I had to get security to unhook our seats so we could slide our seats in to the isle so this guy wasnt sitting on me.

Awesome show and I agree with all yous guys.

Why I'm pissed at 'lil Jimmy Norton...(and why he could probably care less.....): It was a great show, except for the crowd Booing Billy Burr, he definately didn't deserve that.

After the show I took the chance to meet the whole crew. All the guys were great, gracious, shook my hand appreciated my appreciation of their work. Even Bill Burr who, for all he knew I was one of the Booers (which I was, of course, not, was cool.

However, 'Lil Jimmy Norton after I told him I was a big fan and told him he was great in his Lucky Louie role on HBO didn't even look at me. He totally fucking snubbed me!! No smile, no EYE CONTACT even.

I was in the front of section 204 and the booing definitely was coming from behind us -- maybe about 10 rows. So I would say that it was probably from the middle to back of section 204.

I was cringing big time... even to Shubert despite deserving it. I'm surprised he came out at the curtain call. I would have stayed backstage.

I was in the back of sec 204 and I dont think anyone around me was booing at all other than for Schubert.

The boo-ing was out of hand last night. That really was a sore spot on a great show. Here's my thoughts on why it happened:

First, Shubert's set started out ok but he was all over the airplane jokes and was hacky. It was the same material he's been doing for 10 years and he got ripped for it. The worse part is he grew up a block from me in Northeast Philly and I know he had alot of family and friends there, I'm sure it was a big night for him. I really felt for the guy.

People got a little restless during Patrice's set but he was rambling and then came back strong at the end.

To the main point, they went to a 20-30 minute intermission after Sagat's set. The place was on a high after he was done, he absolutely killed up there. The break totally killed any momentum and energy that the show had. I think O&A showing all the vids kind of got the crowd into attack mode.

Dom Irrera had great material and started out on fire, the people I was around laughed the harder at a few of his jokes than anything else in the show. He kept going to the well on some jokes touching on race and immediately people started getting restless and boo-ing. I was shocked since he is a Philly guy and one of the most respected comics of all time.

O&A sensed what was happening and tried to stir the crowd up but they you could tell it was very awkward for them.

Bill Burr had little chance out there with the state the crowd was in, and he did some pretty bad material to start his act (Why are there no people with the last name Hitler? Cell phones make my head hurt) and was immediately bood to shit, he didn't have a chance to salvage the act and knew it. I respect him for not walking off and he knew he couldn't go on so he went on one of the most brutal attacks I have ever heard...and he won over the crowd. Absolutely fucking brutalized the place and I loved it.

I was worried for Lil Jimmy but he came out and did a great set with no boo-ing. You could tell he was a little worried about how the crowd was coming in with 2 straight guys getting killed up there. He was clearly the most polished of the comics and went through a great set.

I think the length of the show, the intermission and the fact that it was a Saturday and most of the crowd was drinking all day and absolutely bombed is what caused it. The guys were trying to setup jokes but the crowd's drunken, no attention span mush brains couldn't follow anyone who even attempted to setup a punchline. It was brutal but there was much more to it than people just being assholes or the comics sucking.

The PNC show was actually a bit longer as they seemed to come on about 15 or so minutes later last night. And the PNC crowd, which was still larger, was drinking about the same as in Camden. Plus there was an intermission after Saget at PNC as well. There was no real booing at PNC except maybe at the start of Mencia's set (since he was slated last the booing stopped after those people left).

It's a Philly crowd. It's their reputation. Agree with the stereotype or not, this is what they're known for. And we can curse those idiots out all we want (and they deserve it), if it wasn't for those shenanigans we wouldn't have had Burr's now legendary tirade.

So I'm at the O&A Tweeter Center show last night, and it was great, except for the fans. They were just fucking loud disrespectful assholes. They booed Jimmy Shubert and Dom Irrera for pretty much no reason. Shubert was ehhhhhhh but no reason to get hard on him; and Irrera is great, but in front of 10,000 drunks it's hard to do old material and not have the last name "Norton".

Bill Burr comes out, and he's doing his material that he did at the PNC. It was good, but for no reason again, the crowd was turning on him. What happened next was 15 minutes of GENIUS. Burr goes into fucking battle mode. He went on a rage about how much he hates Philly, he hates the fans, he hates the city and everyone whose booing. He went on to talk about how he wanted everyone to drop dead and the city is the biggest shithole on the planet. 50% of the crowd was booing him at this point, and the other 50% (myself included) were giving him a standing ovation. I've never seen a bigger pair of brass balls in comedy then on Bill Burr. He absolutly stole the show and was the funniest thing of the entire night.

"I hope you all get cancer and lose your hair. Except you're all fucking skinheads so no one would notice. Except I'll know when you all drop dead and I laugh at you. 11 fucking minutes left."

I guarantee it was a bunch of stupid people who aren't even fucking fans of the show starting the boos. Then, true to form, the fucking filth that makes up a Philly crowd caught on and just laid into the comics.

So here's my little review:

Schubert bombed. He did hack material and paniced when the boos came. It's hard to go on after Vos opens, especially if you're not a show regular. I feel bad for the guy, but he didn't handle it well.

Tracy Morgan killed. I've only seen his act on TV a few times, but he was on top of things tonight, and had the right kind of jokes for an O&A crowd.

Ralphie killed as well, and I don't even LIKE him. But the whole midget routine was fucking hilarious.

Patrice got off to a slow start, but showed he has the skills to recover quickly and gave the crowd what they wanted. Bravo Patrice.

Saget was amazing. I knew he was gonna be funny, but he just blew me away. And that's wrong.

The Letterman stuff wasn't the greatest start to the second half, but the bbboys are proud of it and I understand why they'd share it with some of the newer fans. My brother, who doesn't listen, was with me and he cracked up at the Howie bit.

Bob Kelly absoultely killed of course, but I knew he would.

Dom Irrera didn't deserve what he got. Sure, he was doing old material but do you think those fucking savages in the crowd knew that? He isn't a normal guest on the show, and he has nothing to do with Dane Cook so the people who aren't fans of real comedy didn't wanna have anything to do with him.

Jimmy did great as usual, and I won't be the 1000th person to go over that. Sure, some of the stuff was old hat but it's still fucking funny. Plus he closed, which is EXACTLY where he should have been on the card.

Finally, Billy Burr. I'm not really a big fan of Bill's regular act. The Hitler bit is old. So maybe we're lucky the fucking pricks in the crowd spurred him on to comedy immortality. The pathetic messes that make up Philly crowds deserve what Billy gave them last night. I'm proud that I am not from Philly, and it was one of the greatest things I've ever seen, to watch a comic completely destroy a crowd of 10,000.

"I hope Donovan McNabb breaks both fucking ankles and the Eagles go 0-16"

I'll tell you all what I told Billy at the signing table. He's a fucking genius.

I hadn't listened to Friday's broadcast until this morning. Schubert was actually trying out a lot of the same hack jokes he told last night while on the show Friday morning. Every one of them met with no response, and likely would have been car crashes or cricket chirps if one of the regulars or the boys had attempted it. Hell, at one point someone on the show said something to the effect of "Wow, could that sound more like a routine?" That alone should've clued him in to what he was walking in to. If he was too lazy or untalented to have a backup plan, he deserved the boos. I was fourth row center in the pit, I could hear his act, and was wishing the boos were louder.

I liked Dom's set quite a bit, and probably laughed the hardest during portions of it. He shouldn't have been booed.

Burr's set was a welcome change to what's been said about his Worceter and PNC sets. The paranoid in me can't help but wonder if the bbboys didn't go up to the lawn seats prior to his set to insight some boos for Billy. Oh, and those planes didn't actually crash into the twin towers, maaaaaaaan. :action-sm

there are a few things that eally bugged me about this situation. One, shubert did shit the bed. he went with hacky jokes to start. Dom started fucking great, but he did follow bob, and toward the end he kept going to the ink pen joke one too many time. however, the shit dicks that wouldn't even let burr get going should get kicked in the liver. Bill killed, period. he took a bad situation and ruled. I'm a diehard Philly sports fan, and i could have booed him for the trashing he gave the crowd, but i couldn't cause it was genius. almost the whole pit gave him a standing o. the other thing that pisses me off is all the phily bashing. We werent the only people there. there we lots of jersey (north and south), new york, New HAmpsire, allllllllllllot from Washington. yeah it's the philly market, but howabout throwing the blame where it really goes, the drunk assholes in 204 and the lawn. Philly has been and always be loyal to the show!

ditto my philly brethren......philly is notorious for our bad attitudes and booing pretty much anything for no reason, but everyone is conveniently forgetting that a shitload of NY, NJ, and DC peeps made the trip too. And while I love my philly teams, I could care less about what Bill Burr said...he fucking slayed those assfucks that were booing him and that was worth the price of admission itself.

Unfortunately, that's what can happen when you get a bunch of psychos and let them drink for most of an afternoon.

Had a great time and thought Billy was great.

IT seemed like everybody in that place that was booing has a serious case of ADD. Any time a comic would try to set up a joke with any kind of story the booing would start. FUCK YOU PHILLY.

Phew, finally.

First off, I still love the philly fans. They showed up in droves both at the event, and at WYSP on Friday. They are diehard fans of the show, they have their own way. Its not like its a secret, and when you go into their home, you play by their rules.

The booing? I'm torn. In most circumstances, I'd probably be horrified. But someone earlier posted on the thread-- this is what they do in philly, AND someone pointed out that if you don't like the act, why should you have to just sit their and applaud mindlessly?

I actually thought the whole night was great, and the booing was a part of it. We're fans of cringe right? Well I have never felt a cringier 10 minutes in my life than Schuberts set. I just kept shrinking smaller and smaller into a ball under my seat. It felt AWFUL. He just ignored it and rattled out his routine at the speed of light, like some dumb nervous kid at his first Thanksgiving day pageant. But there's something oddly enjoyable about that. "orang:

The only worse moment, was when Bill first came out and they started booing. I love Bill and felt AWFUL. I swear, if things had gone another way, I might have cried for him!!! I kept remembering what he said on the air after PNC about being afraid of being the one to bomb. :worm:

So when he turned it around, I felt like I was cheering on a Hail Mary home team victory. I was standing up SCREAMING!!!! BILL you are AMAZING!!!!
:clap9: :clap9: :clap9: :clap9: :clap9:

And I love the boys for laughing at the whole situation too. What are you gonna do? You're in PHILLY!!!!!

And Bob Kelly, Jim and Vos absolutely destroyed as well. Thanks for another great show. The tailgate was amazing! Thanks to everyone who brought stuff you people are beyond generous and know how to party!!!!! Sorry we didn't have more grills, and so couldn't cook all that stuff! I'll post more on the tailgate on the other board, but I just wanted to say here, thank you everyone from WB who put board bullshit aside and came and hung with us. You guys bring MUCH to the party.

Ohhh...one more thing...

are we done arguing yet about what seats the boo-ers were in?

:deadhorse

Does it really matter? :gh:

Do we know these people were from Philly? People came from all over for this show. You don't know who was booing....

Regardless, booing Burr was ridiculous. In my opinion, people just wanted Jimmy. That's not an excuse or a reason to boo, just what I was thinking as I listened in shock of the boos. He's one of the funniest comedians around. He killed a few months ago at Helium in Philly; he has a following here. Jimmy S. was not very strong. Personally, I like Dom. I remember first seeing him years ago on HBO. I was excited to see him but some of his material just wasn't very strong or fresh.

The seat I had was so close to the stage a piece of glass bounced up and hit me from when Opie broke the wine glass. The strippers got nice and wet before the show at the booth for shirts. All the comedians were great with one minor exception in the begining of the night.
I decided to take the Mustang with the top down to Camden for the trip. First of all driving through Camden was like going through Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. You got the cracked out people on the streets, the african queens with their hair all did and the buildings looked half bombed out. I even saw some young gang member on his ghetto bike just peddling around.
Awsome time in Camden.

I'm a long time O&A fan, originally from North Jersey now working in Philly, and I gotta say... last night was the worst display I've ever seen down here. I sat on the left side of the lawn with 7 other friends who all loved the show (we all bought our lawn seats early, at $25 a clip - suckers that we are). There were 30-40 doucherags in front of us who booed anything they could... they even booed an empty cup, because, well, it didn't have any beer left in it. Makes sense. I only joined this board today in an effort to vent my frustration with these morons. And please don't discount the entire lawn section - 85% of us went to have a good time and sit in dirt.

And Bill Burr is a superhero.

Thanks Ant for corrrecting my little brother at the table, I laughed at him the whole way home....

"Don't you fuckin' snap that picture!"

The look of panic on his face was priceless.

Thank you guys for the best event I've been to in years.

Last night was an amazing time - from hanging out in the lots, meeting Anthony and the freaks in the petting zoo to the amazing Bill Burr!! Who knew he had it in him?!
When I was walking around in the village, Paul signaled me out with his stupid accent, "What is that? What is that?" Pointing at me, so trying to come up with some racist remark (I'm a dopey Korean boy). But it took him like 5 minutes to finally come up with "Slanty eyed Korean" or something to that affect. Even as I sat there egging him on he just couldn't come up with anything! But, Paul, you are an all right guy.
Thanks for the good times!

[QUOTE=Wifflebatlube]I had a blast. Except for the booers, who Bill Burr made look like fucking retards, everyone else I met that night (A LOT!) was really cool.
Here's a few answers to some points that were brought up in this thread.

Some guy is mad at Jimmy for dissing him at the autograph table. Sorry dude. You're "doesn't get the bit guy". Every so often Jimmy will TOTALLY blow off a listener on line and after they walk away all pissed off we laugh our asses off. Yeah, it's a bit cruel but when you're sitting there for a few hours signing shit you have to make your own fun. You were just part of one of the bits. Not personal at all. Jimmy is one of the most humble guys I know and wouldn't treat someone like that unless it was a gag. Be proud! You gave us all a real good chuckle!

The guy at the end of the table was old intern/New employee Crazy Bill.
He just sat down and started signing shit and we were laughing our asses off cause no one was asking who he was and he never asked any of us if it was cool if he did it. Funny shit. Some set of balls on that kid.

I had no idea who the dude at the end was..I think he signed our poster with some saying about Jesus

As for Jimmy, he was great he signed for us then I guess we hung around too long and he threw our poster at us (the wife and I) and yelled "How many times are we going to sign this!!"

Opie and I didn't do much on stage this time because we had more comics than we had at the other places and time was a real tight issue.
(Hence no "Dice Gay" sorry!) We weren't sure if we had time for a bit so we stuck to video stuff so we could scrap them if we ran out of time and it wouldn't be that big a deal. The big thing was getting all the acts on and meeting as many fans as we could afterward.

Our security was Kenny and Keith. They have to be with us when we go into the crowd. You can call us faggots for having them but I sure as shit ain't gonna stroll around a bunch of drunks without them. They didn't get in the way and I was almost late to the stage after signing stuff and taking pictures on the lawn because I wasn't listening to them telling me that I had to leave right now. (I had a few in me!)

All in alll great time, Thanks!

All i want to say is thank you ant. and i'm sure i speak for the real fans out there actually from Philly and say it was one hell of a night and can't wait for the next tour!

My asshole local newspaper had Carlos Mencia listed for the show and also called it the "Travelling Circus" instead of "Travelling Virus" show.

i guess u must enjoy the horrible bucks county courier times, ed condran is a cunt he did a entire article on how bob saget does dirty humor, wow way to do something new, also he never mentioned opie and anthony at all and also didnt mention norton as one of the comics on the show. came across like he might have been a stern fan who was told to write a article about the show.

Jim, I have been a big fan of yours even BEFORE O & A. Back to the days of PREMIUM BLEND when you had a 10 minute spot I liked you. I have been a loyal listener of the show, whatched Lucky Louie, been to all your dates when you have been in and around Philly and you SNUBBED me like I was some kind of front-running, don't have the time of day for me, non-supportive bastard.
But you don't care do ya Jim? You are Jim Norton and you are on the Radio and you don't give a shit!

I get it. He's pretnding he's "doesn't get it guy"....right?

God, I hope so.

After he blew off some steam he was cool. I just said "Wow, they can be brutal can't they!" Like I was letting him in on something he didn't know.
Every comic eats his balls at some point but that was one of the worse I've ever seen.

It turned Burr into a super hero though. I think after seeing that, he wasn't gonna take ANY shit from the crowd if they turned on him and when they did he un-fucking-loaded. I was roaring at the abuse he was dishing out.

Any plans on putting the audio of Burr's tirade on Foundry or playing it on the air next week? That was comedy gold!
