It looks as though its an airplane creating a contrail which is then being illuminated by the sun (which is below the horizon at ground level but directly shining on the contrail and plane). Either that or a space vehicle entering the Earth's atmosphere :)

This type of phenomena happens quite frequently. I've seen it before and if I'd seen this I wouldn't have even thought twice about it. Unless there's a better pic of it out there that indicates otherwise, it appears to be exactly what "The Man" said it was.

Look at the left side of the "streak"... you can clearly see the double lines of the contrail which is formed by the engine mounted on each of the jet's wings... same as in the picture linked above.

Instead, why don't you "prove" that it's too sharp a curve for any commercial airliner to make?

How about a more likely explanation... The airliner is moving away from you, you're viewing it at a fairly acute angle, and the turn looks sharper than it is because of that... The curve of the contrail will appear to be much more abrupt than it would be if viewed from directly below.

Or of course it could be aliens from Zygort-17 doing a recon run before the bombing begins. :icon_mrgr

I think it was the one where the Enterprise accidentally arrived in the past and Captain Kirk had to go into the military installation to retrieve any record that the Enterprise was there.
