I'm sure most of you are familiar with the story. This cunt had no evidence and she attacked an emotionally distressed mother who lost her child. She did it to get ratings and now that the lady killed herself she is basking in the spotlight. I don't care if the woman is guilty or not this is unacceptable behavior and someone needs to start calling these reporters out.

Here is an article about her recent interview on ABC Good Morning America:

Nancy Grace Says 'Guilt' Likely Made Mother Commit Suicide

Sept. 15, 2006 — Former prosecutor turned talk show host Nancy Grace is unapologetic about her aggressive approach to a mother who committed suicide after an interview about the woman's missing son.

Twenty-one year-old Melinda Duckett was the mother of 2-year-old Trenton Duckett, who has been missing since Aug. 27.

Grace interviewed Duckett over the phone on Sept. 7 as part of a taped segment for Grace's show. Before the interview was over, the talk show host was pounding her desk and demanding, "Where were you? Why aren't you telling us where you were that day?"

One day later, Duckett shot and killed herself just hours before the taped interview aired on CNN Headline News.

In an exclusive interview with "Good Morning America" today, Grace said that she takes no responsibility for Duckett's suicide.

"If anything, I would suggest that guilt made her commit suicide," Grace told ABC News' Chris Cuomo.

"To suggest that a 15 or 20 minute interview can cause someone to commit suicide is focusing on the wrong thing," she said.

Interview or Inquisition?

Melinda Duckett reported her son missing from their Leesburg, Fla., home on Aug. 27. She said he disappeared from his crib while she watched a movie on television with friends.

Investigators have stopped short of calling Duckett a suspect but have focused increasing attention on her movements just before the boy vanished. Police have seized notes, a computer, camera and other items from her home.

Duckett's family members disputed any suggestion that she hurt her son. They said that the strain of her son's disappearance pushed her to the brink, and the media sent her over the edge.

"Nancy Grace and the others, they just bashed her to the end," Duckett's grandfather Bill Eubank told the Associate Press Tuesday.

Some media analysts agree, saying Grace's interview went too far.

"How is that questioning doing anything but making a person in a desperate situation feeling even more desperate?" said Hub Brown, a professor at Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Communications.

Grace, however, insists her line of questioning was reasonable.

Her style probably worked fine in court where there is a defense attorney to object, and I don't doubt that judges had to warn her about badgering witness on the stand.

But many times, and even in the parts I heard of this interview, the person is giving her a clear, direct answer, but she plays dumb and acts like the person is evading her.

The impression I got was that Druckett was advised not to reveal certain information to the press because it needs to remain confidential so that only the person(s) responsible and the police are privy to it.

Look at John Karr, early reports stated that he had information that only someone at the scene of the crime would know, but it turned out that apparantly, this information had been leaked.

//I heard that one of her favorite movies was "Swimming to Cambodia"

no, although i always wonder how ugly people ever get on TV. fireing her would be wrong. its not her fault the mother killed her self.

to fire her would be no better than fireing two radio personalitys for the actions of two voyers and a jack ass.

I dont know, I kinda liked that interview for it's cringe factor. Plus if this chick was so weak minded she offed herself because of Nancy Grace how mentally all there was she to begin with? Yes Nancy Grace is an insufferable cunt, but how the hell can you provoke someone to commit suicide in a stupid interview? Or could it have been guilt? Just sayin....

Should she be fired? On what basis, telling the truth? The chick agreed to come on the air, and Nancy Grace ripped her story apart like, well, the prosecuting attorney she used to be. Anything Duckett did after that out of guilt is Duckett's fault. I say give Grace a raise.

(Not that it wouldn't be fun to see her get thrown out of a 10-story window just for sheer entertainment value...)

I think it's wrong that they aired that segment at all. Apparently the lady committed suicide after the taping of the show, but before it aired. Nancy Grace should take some criticism, but it shouldn't end with her. Fired? ehhhh

this cunt is no more then a fuckin hack interviewer who tries to talk down to, and trash every guest she has on her shitty show,

she is the typical righteous type reporter who is always looking down on everyone, and is always trying to make herself bigger then whatever story she is covering.guarantee this lady has major skeletons in her closet.

another female smug assed bill oreilly type.

The mom could very well be behind it. Grace is a cunt that cares NOTHING about the family or child. I really hope it comes out that the mother wasn't behind it. I rarely, if ever feel sympathy for people that commit suicide but if she wasn't behind it, I would feel for her.

Reporters think they can just fuck with people for ratings. I'm glad that douche got his ass kicked in SD and I hope Grace's image will never be the same. You aren't "tough" for screaming at someone over a phone.

Grace's husband was murdered years ago. What if some reporter started "grilling" her on where she was while she was suffering?

It looks like the mother probably was behind it but I have no respect for "i'm going to make a difference" reporters.

So you can't say fuck, piss, shit etc.. on the radio or television but you can talk someone into an emotional state of suicide live on the air?

Dudes.!
Your FCC is fubar.
Not only should she be fired but a criminal investigation should be conducted by the prosecutors in that case.

Everyone likes cringe entertainment until someone goes and offs themself.

Anyone so weak minded to go kill themselves after a stupid interview is either riddled with guilt or just a candidate for Darwinism.

That's not the point.
Regardless of guilt or innocence the media should have absolutely no rite to interview a potential suspect in a criminal investigation like this.
Your rite though it is cringe entertainment and no longer news.

I understand you guys' points. But it seems like everyone here knows Nancy Grace's reputation. Why didn't she? And no one forced this girl to do the interview. And yes the media can interview potential suspects, that's why there are lawyers advising them what to and not to say.
