I hate to have to start another thread like this but another paltalker who all of us knew has passed away. Rich (the solipsist) who started the O and A Fan room died in his sleep. There are not many details but all I can say is this truly is a terrible day for many of us on Paltalk. Rich was a friend to everyone on there and will be missed terribly. Please use this thread to post condolences and share stories and please think of his family and friends in this time.
I dont really know what to say but Rich you were a great guy and a great friend. RIP
mod's if you can sticky this please..sorry for double post

I would be lieing right now if told you that I am strong enuf to not be crying but I sit here in aww with tears down my face. I first met Rich at one of Master Po's Studio painting partys. It was the first BUF O&A fan I ever met outside of MA. Eversince then we have been friends allways bumping into each other at certain O&A events, at the studio, helping him to recover from Egg Nog overdose, countless times I have spent just chatting with him on pal talk, and just recently spending the whole weekend with him in the Mancation Camper.
Why is it that good die young and the assholes like myself stick around to greeve? This one is definatly hard to take for myself due to the overwhelming great temperment that Rich had. He was all about friendship and fun, even when he was stressed out he still found a way to make sure he was liked.
Well, I am gonna miss you my friend, Love ya dude.. Steve

I'm so glad I got to have a dance with him at Reilly's during Mike and Heather's party.
I know he was very close with his family and they must be absolutely devasted to lose a son at only 21 years old.

Rich was one of the first people I knew from paltalk and a good friend. He was always so nice to everyone. Welcomed with open arms. He did so much to make people happy. He just wanted everyone to have a good time and have fun.
His bday party was so much fun. Same with any other time at the events and FH Rileys. I always loved seeing Rich, and when I offer for a handshake, he'd give me a big bear hug and squash me. Looking back I know it was just out of love. He was such a caring fun guy.
Rich was the guy for the Camden show, who when I asked if I could stay somewhere, offered to let me share a hotel room with him and Alan. I had a blast hanging out with him the whole night that night.
I'm really going to miss Rich. RIP bro. I hope angels enjoy the Solip-zone.

Rich was a great guy. I was on paltalk sometime this summer and my mother was with me. Rich was teasing her asking her if she was a "knitter mommy" cause she was knitting, thinking she wouldn't know what he meant. SHe knew, but she liked the nick he gave her so much that she still goes by it. He also started to scream things to try and embarass her, but she fit right in by giving him the middle finger. He was silly, innapropriate at times, but he had a great heart and knowing him personally I am really fucking hurting right now. Rich will be missed:(

It's a credit to Rich that when you read the name TheSolopsist, you knew that you had read that name before. Because he always around, supporting the show. You couldn't go into a Pal Talk O&A fan room with out seeing him logged on. He was a great guy for the time I knew him and a die hard O&A fan. He's blessed to have gone in his sleep, but so young. holy shit, i'm stunned. he was one of the first Pests i'd become acquainted with and one of the few who actually remembered who i was after we met. i've hung out with Rich at several of the Pest missions, the live events, and at the Traveling Virus shows. i remember him pointing to the ground and "getting" me at the tailgate for the PNC show. i remember walking through Manhattan with him and a few other Pests as he talked about the most heinous topics just to disturb passers-by and to make the rest of us laugh our asses off. i remember how he'd shout my name to announce my arrival, "Hey look! It's Glenn The Tool!" much to the indifference of everybody else. i was pretty much just a hanger-on because i knew so few Pests aside from Rich and a handful of others, and i would wonder to myself when he'd get tired of my boring, taciturn ass hanging around and tell me to fuck off. but he never did and i appreciated him for that.

It's a blessing and a curse to know so many of you guys. We have the best listeners, many of whom are very involved with the show either on the air or in some other capacity off the air. It's a very large but close group of people. The good part of this is obvious. The bad part is that things like this happen more often. Rich was a great guy and a loyal fan and a friend to many.
He will be missed.
That's been the most awesome thing about the O&A show. Moreso than any other radio show this one has such incredible interaction with it's fanbase. Not once has it ever seemed like a couple of radio celebrities talking to millions of people, but almost like a couple of us in front of the microphones (and that's pretty fuckin' scary).
I never knew Rich but you can just see by the shots that he seemed like a real warm hearted guy. My condolences go out to his family and everyone who knew him. :icon_cry:

I just feel I have to write a little to let some of the pain out, Thank you.
I could go on for pages about "superstar" that's what I called him. I remember when I 1st PMed him about coming down to PO's to help out. He was just a shy quiet kid, and it took some serious nudging to have him come down.
I remember his humor on the long days and nights we spent together just hanging out BBQing and Bullshitting about the show and life in general.
Tonight as I sit here at dinner with my wife, friends and Po, it is hard to comprehend what has happened. We all had plans to have a fun filled evening as we always do with everyone. At this point it is not that easy.
Rich was one of the first to know of my engagement and he was also one of the first people I called when we got back from Vegas after we got married. He was probably more happy for me then me, and couldn't wait to help set up our party at Rileys.
We were just talking about how there is so many events coming up, between now and the end of the year. And joking about how he was of age, and didn't have to worry, like he used to.
Po has sung a few songs tonight, with a heavy heart and in his own way to pay respects to Rich, and at times the tears are hard to hold back.
I know there are 100's of people who's lives he has touched in different ways, I am with you in your sorrow. Please remember him the way that will make you live your life a little different, for he was in it.
For the few of us that knew him as the shy kid that is the way we best remember him.
Thank you for taking the time..........
And I woukd give almost anything not to have to be with all that will come on Tuesday.

My heart goes out to Rich's family and friends. It is the worst type of loss one can experience. It is great to see 5 pages full of tribute to one person, and a great reflection of all pests, wackbag, and the O&A family. Rest in peace Rich.

I only know Rich for the continuously pithy comments he made on Paltalk during the live show but I know he was a quick witted high bandwidth fan. Condolences to everyone and especially his family and friends on the heartbreaking loss....

Met Rich for the first time at J&R Music World right before the Million Pest March. From there, he introduced me to alot of pests. He was one of the best. Taken from us so young too. He will truly be missed. R.I.P. Rich.
I'm sorry to learn of the loss. I rarely pop my head into the PalTalk rooms these days but Rich was one of the first people to welcome me to the room when I first showed up. Although I never got to know him, he always struck me as being a really good guy and I feel terrible for those of you that knew him.

Steve
I am destroyed right now. We truly bonded in that mancation rv. This post made me cry because i can feel the mans handshake still, and hear his soft spoken kind words as we left Po's. That convo we had at breakfastthe last night outside while having a cig will always be in my mind when thinking of you Rich. I love you Rich!! Sonny, be strong brother, all of us are family. This is a terrible loss of a family member for a group of thousands!!!. God Bless.

No other Radio show comes even close to having the true loyal fan base that O&A have. It says alot for the show and it should be the BEST radio show ever. I can undrstand saying something on the show about this loss but something like a few munites and to move on to the show that we all know to be all about fun fun fun. Its what Rich would have expected
WHY THE FUCK HIM! I just cant help but ask myself that question over and over. Its not just how close you are to someone, more than someones personality that makes it hard in these types of situations.
I am destroyed right now. We truly bonded in that mancation rv. This post made me cry because i can feel the mans handshake still, and hear his soft spoken kind words as we left Po's. I know of 2 other people that have passed in my lifetime that shared the same qualitys as Rich did. From expierence I can say that it doesnt get any easyer, especially the older I get. But I can tell you this, as much as alot of people miss him, Rich will NEVER be forgotten.
Rest in Peace my friend, Steve

Rich was one of the few people on here that I was friends with on a personal level. We spent a lot of time hanging and just talking about life and the show.
We travelled to Boston on two occasions for show events and shared hotel rooms. I had the pleasure of meeting his family on the way back from our last trip, and they were very warm and welcoming.
He was a great kid, taken far too young. This has hit me on a personal level like most things don't, so I know I loved the guy.
We'll be travelling up to Union city in the early evening on Tuesday - hopefully a lot of people will join us and show him the respect he deserves.

The thing I'll remember most about Rich is that he had a way of treating you like you were an old friend, regardless of how long he actually knew you. I hardly knew him, basically just through PalTalk, but he always made me feel welcome and included whenever I'd go into his room.
He would abuse me CONSTANTLY on PalTalk (it seems like he had those Goodfellas clips queud up just waiting for me to come in the room), but it was never anything short of endearing. He was a great guy, and even though I didn't know him as well as many of you, I considered him a friend. It seems like he touched the lives of everyone he met, and its a testament to this that I'm sitting here crying over someone who, in reality, I hardly knew.
Goodbye Rich, my paisan, I'll remember you fondly. PalTalk won't be the same with The Solipsist's name on my buddy list...

Big A called me about this last night and I was very saddened. I didn't know Rich well but he was always very kind to me and I finally had got a chance to really chat with him for awhile at Mike and Heather's wedding reception at F.H. Riley's a few months back. He seemed like a good guy and will be missed. If there's some place we can send a card to his family and make a donation I certainly will.

I can't say that I knew him well, but we met at Master Po's last year, hung out a few times at o&a events, I drove him to and from places up in Boston back in April, nothing too personal, but good company none the less. He was one of the few people that I'd shoot the shit with whenever I went down to ny/nj for our silly events. It felt good how he'd make me feel welcome in a place far from home.

someone wanted a couple quotes from rich so here are a couple:
"I could write novels on my life experiences. Tribulations and triumphs. I know it all. I've been through it all. That's right, as arrogant as it sounds, I know more about life than u do. Think I'm too young, I'm not. I've had some real hands dealt to me. Real Hands. Dreams achieved, failure, love, loss, death, hatred, enlightenment, partying, loneliness, excess, sacrifice, sex, drugs, sobriety, everything"
"I am motionless, stationary, in my wake absolutely still. I started out by saying that i could write novels, that i've been through it all, and that i know everything. I believe that wholeheartedly. The only thing that still surprises me, that keeps me on my toes, is a relationship. And when I'm in one, everyday is an adventure. Boring, becomes a word unfit for my vocabulary. It becomes the drive, the motivation to further myself, to push the limits on what life holds. To take the lemons thrown at me, and throw them back, harder and faster. That's why, for me, there's such a huge emphasis on having someone, that's why being single sucks. I've been through it all many times over, and if i die tomorrow, i have that on my side. Life itself is short, living life is long."

I just found out and this is very very sad. Rich was always cool to me in the Paltalk fan room (even when I was being a beligerant drunken ass) and always nice to me at any events I had gone to. He was the first person to say what's up and always made sure we were prepared for what was going on. He was an awesome, funny and personalable dude and he will be sorely mised. My condolences go out to his family and friends and I hope they can find some comfort in knowing that he was extremely loved by this community.

Rich was a fucking awesome d00d.. you'll be missed, bro. RIP
Oh....this is bullshit.
I didn't know him from paltalk, never met him in person and wouldn't recognize his face... I didn't even know his real name. But when you heard his screen name you knew it. Funny posts, kind posts and a long time fan of the show. You never heard a complaint about him...he was never abusive like so many of us are. He could lay down the most scathing insult but you always knew there was a laugh behind it and you didn't need to take it seriously.
Since I never knew his real name, I'll remember him how I knew him...Goodbye "The Solopisist"....you will be missed.
And because he would have wanted it this way...

Forgive me if I'm a little long winded. I know many of you did not know rich well, and so I want to give you some small insight into the type of person he was.
Someone used the word devestating to describe the loss we are suffering now. It truly is. I was so lucky to have known rich, and to have called him a very close friend.
I fucking loved him. What a great friend. What a great fan of the show. Anytime there was an event, a walkover, a pest attack, an appearance or anything related to the show, you never had to ask Rich if he was going...the answer was always the same. I'll be there. "If I can get a ride."
If something was wrong in your life, you didn't have to tell him. He knew. He'd just call, or invite you into a private room on Paltalk, and talk things out with you.
'Owning' the fan room might not seem like much of a responsibility, but it was. Few people realize how much work it was for Rich to keep everyone in the room at peace. There was always someone complainting that some group of people or some type of behavior was "ruining" the fan room, and it was Rich's job to figure out what to do about it. And somehow, he always solved the problem. This sounds silly, but even at 21 years old, he had a wisdom and a way of handling conflict that was almost an artform.
He loved SO much and SO hard, and was loved back equally. I can't think of a single person who didn't like him. And I can't even begin to count those who truly loved him.
I was truly privileged to know him. Honored to share a modship with him on FBA, honored to be one of his admins in the fan room, honored to be his friend.
Rich, my friend, thank you for ALL of the late nights on Paltalk, thank you for all the advice and sharing tears and happiness, thank you for being one of the few people who would be at EVERY damn show event, thank you for the greatest hugs, thank you for the solip-zone, and the way you knew how to entertain an entire room for hours, thank you for the way you knew how to handle people without angering them, and thank you for the love and respect you always showed me and everyone you met; thank you for making the fan room a place we all wanted to be, and for introducing me to all of the people I now consider friends. Thank you for sharing your love of music with me, and introducing me to so many great bands that I didn't know. Thank you for making me laugh, cry and most importantly, thank you for making me fell very very very very loved.
The empty space that you have left on this planet is enormous. I'm going to echo a really sweet thought said by Fleaman, because it made me smile. I hope the angels are enjoying the solipzone.
Be at peace Richikins. I love you. I won't ever forget you.

It’s always sad news when you hear somebody taken so young; it only makes the news more tragic when you know he was loved by so many.
I knew Rich, as many of you have, through Palktalk and he was always cool to me. I think what I liked about Rich was that he cared about the fan room, not just because it was his and he was paying the bill for it.
No… he cared about the fan room because it was fill with people that he loved and cared for. He was the father of the O & A Paltalk room and that role he fulfilled better than any of us could.
I think the greatest testament to Rich is that we all wish we knew a little more about him or want to talk to him one more time. In this instant gratification world we don’t get the time to know people or fully enjoy what a person brings to the table till they are gone.
I’m a person of few words on Paltalk, but if I would use one world to describe Rich it would be compassionate.
People never leave us as long as we think of them.
We are all parts of each other.
Rich will be with us till the stars burn out.

I took the weekend off for O+A related stuff, so I just found out driving in and listening to the show. For HTG, and Lucci, and everyone who were lucky enough to know Rich so well, I'm very, very sorry you lost such a good friend.
I remember the late night chats that I would drop in on in the room-thats late night for the west coast, btw-and how funny and fun Rich was. In fact, many times, he entertained the room with his songs and laughter. God, the pics of him at the slumber party made me laugh so hard-talk about a fish out of water :-)
I can't believe he was only 21. I'm 35 and I could swear that due to the way he handled us he had to be at least my age.
I talked to him only a few times in the room, but I didn't need to spend much time with Rich to know how important a person he was. He was the kind of person that other people used as a measuring stick. So many times I heard other people ask him personal questions about things that were said and not said, things that were done and not done. And ask for advice-lots of advice. Thats how important Rich was-other people needed him to make sure they were ok.
You treated people right, Rich-thank you

I only knew Rich through PalTalk and just heard about his passing this morning. (I was gone all weekend). It shocked and depressed me. I will miss his playing tunes on PalTalk and his great attitude. The man played Rock-Me Amadeus for me. You have to love him for that. It sucks. He had the best PalTalk nic ever. I'll always remember "The Solipsist".

I found this... I don't know if anyone has posted it but it's beautiful. Again Rest in Peace Rich.
The Soliloquy of the Solipsist
I?
I walk alone;
The midnight street
Spins itself from under my feet;
When my eyes shut
These dreaming houses all snuff out;
Through a whim of mine
Over gables the moon's celestial onion
Hangs high.
I
Make houses shrink
And trees diminish
By going far; my look's leash
Dangles the puppet-people
Who, unaware how they dwindle,
Laugh, kiss, get drunk,
Nor guess that if I choose to blink
They die.
I
When in good humor,
Give grass its green
Blazon sky blue, and endow the sun
With gold;
Yet, in my wintriest moods, I hold
Absolute power
To boycott any color and forbid any flower
To be.
I
Know you appear
Vivid at my side,
Denying you sprang out of my head,
Claiming you feel
Love fiery enough to prove flesh real,
Though it's quite clear
All you beauty, all your wit, is a gift, my dear,
From me.

I only chatted with him once, and only knew him from Wackbag, but this is still a terrible tragedy. I know how lame words seem, but to his family, and those who considered Rich a friend, my condolences at your loss.

I remember talking to him a bunch of times on Paltalk, especially when it first "exploded" as far as the show goes. Sad to see a cool guy and fan of the show go too soon.
RIP Rich

I remember that night like it was yesterday! We drove Rich back home to Jersey City and it hit 12:00 while we were still driving. I remember hearing him call his Mom to say Happy New Year and to tell her he loved her. He also said to tell everyone else that he loved them too. The cute thing was that he was on his way home and would see them in an hour but still made the phone call.
I think every New Year's I will remember him and what a great guy he was.

LAX-
Start listening about 1 hour, 45 minutes into the show. during the last 15 minutes of the second hour, he breaks from the topic at hand and comments on Rich. R.B. was verrry cool, but what else would anyone expect from him.

I didn't know Rich but as I read these posts, I can tell that he was a great guy. He is in my prayers. I tried paltalk out for a while but wasn't into it. I think I'll give it another try since I know there are people like Rich out there.
RIP buddy.

I only knew Rich from his exchanges on PalTalk and WB. Always seemed like a good guy to me, and he obviously was, given all of the good words spoken by those who truly knew him.
My connection is that he is a bro' from Hudson County, NJ; the place in which I grew up back in the '50s through the mid-80s. My deepest sympathies to his family, friends and loved ones. RIP.

It is a shock to the system to see someone so young, and in his prime leave us. This is the second major loss to the O&A fans on pal-talk in a relatively short period of time. Being a pest from a long distance away, I'm not able to meet people or attend the various gatherings, and becuase of my schedule I don't get to participate in the attacks, but Pal-Talk has been another outlet for enjoying the show, and fellow pests. I cahtted with Rich a few times, been bounced from the room by him as well, humerous story here, I had been on Pal-talk Xtreme a few weeks when I got my web cam and mic hooked up. After several hours of screwing with it to get it working. Thankfully it was a Sunday, and not many people in the Fan Room, I was able to play around to get my levels set correct. Just to screw with me, everytime I would start to mic up to test things, Rich would bounce me, this happened maybe 5 times. Sure I was getting frustrated, but hell, thats the way things go in the fan room. I was a known regular, so he knew that I could take the goofing.
He will be missed by all, it was great of the boys to acknowledge him, and to pay a moment of tribute to him, in their own little way.

I was shocked and deeply saddened when I heard of the loss of Rich.
On the occasions I was in the fan room (when it was new to the pests at large),
he was always hanging out in there, and always with a kind word or a nice or funny thing to say.
I join the others in wishing my heartfelt condolences on such a drastic loss to his family and closer friends.
...We are all the poorer for his loss.
RIP
Solipsist
You'll be missed.

Well Since I never posted on this thread I feel that I should: I was very close with Rich. We hungout plenty of times during the 10 months I knew him. He was a great guy, he loved everyone. He always tried to stop all the drama and fighting in the fan room. I have and will miss him dearly. Be Good Rich I Love Ya Man!!!
