"Just do what the bad guy says and wait for the authorities" is how NYC lost 2 towers.
How many people have walked into a classroom with a gun out and NOT shot someone? In a situation like that you're probably not going to prevent violence, but you can certainly take steps to minimize casualties. Has everyone forgotten flight 93 already?
Most school shootings are committed by fellow students, not adults, so the idea of twenty x year olds overpowering a single x year old with a gun is certainly not ridiculous.
Kids are small targets and guns don't have unlimited bullets. What's going to be harder to hit? A kid sitting at his desk or one moving around? Is it easier to aim with or without shit flying at you and hitting you in the head/body?
My wife is from PA, so I realize that most yankees have an irrational fear of firearms, but that's no excuse for taking an "only adults should fight for their lives" attitude.
