It's a good thing Howard doesn't do any sort of walkovers like that. He would have had Artie do the cake stomp and the tremors from him landing would have created a state of emergency. And let's not forget the crater he would have left!

Who the hell is editing their videos? Just let the video play without the constant replay. I laughed hardest at Jimmy just laughing his balls off and calling Op a piece of shit. That's all cut out. Part of the funny, to me at least, is seeing their reaction to shit.

I'm in the same boat everyday. People always ask me what I'm listening to, but I can almost never tell them what I'm laughing at. Somehow I don't think that me laughing at a homeless person's cake getting smashed right in front of him would increase my stock at the workplace. You are an ass. That video is directly synced with the show audio, hence there is very little ambient noise and the audio of people obviously not near the camera are just as audible as they were on the radio. The comments Jim made post-stomping that relevantly matched the visual are, quite evidently, there. However, the specific line Opie said that he enjoyed from Jim was said after the camera had left Andrew, and matched no specific visual. Video is a medium that combines audible and visual elements to make an entire package. The video you see is exactly what was asked for. Thanks for the constructive criticism though.

I kinda enjoyed it, but look, Evil Opie wasn't evil the other day with the fat chick in studio, or with whoopie, or with some of the lame guests they have had in the last month or two. Seems like the Evil board op had some balls today stomping on a homeless drunks cake with armed bodyguards protecting him. Then he tosses a couple of bucks his way to make up for it. Sure those couple of bucks were more than enough to cover the cake, but it didn't hurt his bank account either.

I'm calling Bravo Sierra.

After cowering when confronted by Whoopi Goldberg and completly pussing out when Honey was in the studio after talking up "Fatty Pig Fatty" for the last month...Opie finally gets to look like a big man by stomping a homeless guys cake. Good for him.

Wonderful wickedness. Did the rest of you people hear that our favorite board op has ordered us to make this video highly rated on youtube? I think we need to email it to a few people. Even if they don't like it, views will count no mater how long they view it right??

Also, subscribing to the oavideo channel will increase the exposure.

Lets send this link to anyone that you think will open it

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NjBw4lnbc0I

Also subscribe to the youtube channel that they have set up. When you have multiple subscriptions for one channel you show up on the main page. More subscriptions = more exposure = more gooder

currently they have a pitiful 596 subscribers

If you ARE Sam (your name implies that you ARE NOT Sam), then you do a great job for the show and a great job capturing that today.

To me, this video is so important, so good, so fantastic.... it needs multiple versions.

So.... If it's possible, it's be VERY cool if you could put a version on YouTube using the original audio from the camera. I'm curious to see if there's anything different in terms of ambient sounds the mic on the video camera pics up.

I like the version you did put up there however.

Also: just a question: were you rolling on the entire walk or do you start and stop the camera at different points? I'd be awesome if you could put up a video of the ENTIRE WALK as one long clip. There was just so much happening today, at such a rapid fire rate, I think it warrants it.

I remember listening live to the "TAKE THE WIG" episode and being on the floor in tears cause it was so funny to me.

The cake stomp was probably the first disgust ive ever felt for either opie or anthony... after review though it was such a major act of evil that its almost impossible not to appreciate it. That and the fact that they gave him money let me look at this in a new light.

I gotta agree with you there. Someone being a dick for no reason just isn't funny to me. Now if it was someone that deserved it, yes. But that was just dumb and makes Opie look like he needs to prove something to people.

And after seeing the video, I really felt awful for the guy. Even though they threw money his way. he may be homeless, but he's still a person. Shit.

I read ALOT of the comments from the other side.

If it had been something that one of Stern's cronies had done all the zombies would have been sucking each other's dicks, claiming how it was the greatest thing since Stern "invented everything".

Personally I don't give a shit what the Stern zombies think.

I'm of two minds on this. At face value, it's a HUGE dick move on Opie's part to just do that then throw him a couple of bucks like he was Sonny Corleone... On the other hand, it's just so vicious and so over the top, it was funny.

If nothing was done to compensate Andrew, then this would possibly be the biggest dick move I've ever seen and reprehensible. It's one thing to torment Stalker Patti, or to give shit to Twitchels... But you're fucking with a guy's livelihood and food supply there.

I don't know. I'm mixed on this. Just call me Sam.

Dick move? Maybe, depends on the person looking at it, radio gold? same answer. What works for one person won't work for another. Comedy is just like that, nature of the beast so to speak. What works for a Stern fan won't work for us, vice versa, and combinations in-between. We all have to make our own determinations, and not follow herd mentality. But the other thing you have ot ask yourself is; Does our opinion really matter in this case? The deed is done, and I really doubt that our opinions will influence Op one way or another. If it pisses you off, do something to help the homeless, and stop whining and bitching about one guy did to one guy, make a difference for more than one.

it was equal parts 100% pure dick move with 100% pure radio comedy gold. if i thought op would do something like that outside of the show to a homeless guy, i'd probably have a hard time getting into the show.

but look at patty. op banned her from the show and the radio station she was sleeping in. it was the most painful segment ever. patty weeping for mercy, and op being as cold as, well..... ice. but he admitted awhile back that the boys helped her out several times behind the scenes to make sure she wasn't left for dead. op will do or say whatever makes the show more gooder first, then act like a human being off the air..... i hope el-oh-el

Opie did the right thing, cake is fuckin' bad for you. It rots your teeth and makes you fat. Andrew should thank Opie for looking out for his well-being. Fuckin' cake had it comin' if you ask me.

Greg Hughes, the actor who plays Opie, would never smash a homeless mans cake on purpose.

The character Opie was merely method acting during the cake stomp incident. Jimmy was intently watching what he did with is hands.

I'm amazed you ladies can put your makeup down long enough to post this "Opie crossed the line" horseshit.

First off, not only is "andrew" a homeless bum, but he's an illegal alien - he deserves absolutely nothing, and if he dropped dead tomorrow no one would care (including all of you complaining).

Secondly, that "$50 cake" was a mass-produced, frozen, foodservice-grade lump of shit that probably runs about $12 from Sysco. It was thawed, not used in time, and either sold for $5 or donated to a shelter - it was NOT somebody's $1200 wedding masterpiece that you crying twats are trying to make it out to be.

I mean jesus - he's a homeless guy in manhattan that has millionaires and their fans throw money at him on a weekly basis - and your fucking complaining about a stepped on cake? Blech.

Incidentally, how many of you compassionate human beings that are here "defending the weak" have actually done more than bitch, like donate your time and money to a shelter? Really? That few? What a shocker.

The comments about the vid on youtube were starting to irritate me, so I posted this over there, in response:

Attention self righteous idiots who criticize the action in this vid: the homeless guy who's cake got squashed is an illegal immigrant. He cant get work because he entered this country illegally. Let him rot. The rats can dine on his corpse, and he will fulfill his ultimate destiny: to be a pile of rat shit.
To those who claim to have cancelled their XM: good. That's step one, flush your XM down the toilet. Step 2 is buy a sirius. 3 is go fuck your mother.

Also, that douche who showed up on the walkover wednesday was a self important ass cunt. I was bullshit that no one from the show told him that he doesnt get it, and not to listen any more. He should instead occupy his time during the morning hours when he would normally be listening by fucking his children in their eye sockets until they die. Then he can cut his own head off, have it loaded into a cannon, and fired into the window of the cake factory.
Where ever you are, pal, go fuck yourself.

Fuck that BIll Hughes prick passing judgement on the richest board-op in the bizz. That asswipe was attempting to dictate what the show is about? If he was such a fan as he purports that this bit verred into socieopathic behavior where the fuck has been every other instance of socieopathic behavior? The list is too long to consider. Jesus. Thats why we tune in. That doosche bag was phony ass and the boys shouldn't even have to deal with creeps like him on the walkover. This is an entertainment show that the b-boys deliver every day in spades. Keep up the great work guys!

so would you consider tough hiding in anonymity behind a fake name calling some one out?

Opie did that strictly for the show, for entertainment purposes. If you don't get that by now maybe the show isn't for you. Do you really think if he was walking down the street with his chick he would do something like that? No I know the actor Greg Huges who plays Opie is a gag they use but there is a truth in it. Everyone on the show is playing a character to some extent.

Simple, while Opie might seem arrogant, caustic, abrasive, abusive in studio, thats jsut how he has developed himself as a radio personality. But when these isolated incidents occurr, where he destroys something for instance, then thats him actually becoming a characature of the character he has created for daily use. He is overexagerating what he usually is, and pushing the limits he follows daily. Does he simply smash something everyday? No, does he abuse and berate people everyday, almost. But on those occassions he did lash out, that was one of those rare occassions.

Exactly, Opie is tame compared to the shit he used to pull back at WNEW.
This brand of radio is to induce cringe, but you always have top what you did before it or else it becomes stale and predictable.

We ought to be thanking Opie for this. (that old gag, give me them ribs)
Opie didn't do this entirely for his own amusement but for ours. And whether you found it funny as hell or despicable, it had it's desired effect. To make you talk about the show, to create a buzz. Maybe you will tell someone about it and they will want to check it out for themselves. Even Stern fans are talking about it and they fucking hate and despise them.

Mission accomplished. Shit like this is better than any commercial XM or CBS can put out.

Just my opinion, if you feel different I'm not going to brow beat you, or tell you that you "Don't get it". But at the same time understand why it was done.

I like the slow-motion replays edited in at the end.

How can anyone watch that video and NOT know that Andrew got more than enough money from the guys to replace his stale garbage can cake with a brand new fresh one? THAT'S the cake he'll have earned, not the one he found in the trash. They've been giving him free money for months now to be nice. So what if on one day they decided to get a little fun radio out of it and toss a little more cash his way?
