is the classic O&A that we all know and love. They can go off on a cake for an hour. During the hour they can come up with comedy brilliance and keep the audience laughing without the break-spots-break cadence of Free FM. This is the reason why we subscribe to XM and explains what perhaps is the biggest complaint that we have to the FM portion.

last couple of weeks have been great too im my opinion...me myself i like to beat a dead horse too and i can tell that opie and anthony (and they've even said it themselves) they like to use and dry up an idea they come up with for all it's worth so thats why when some people get annoyed and call up...i'm still entertained and not annoyed at all. For example, like the guys goin on about Shawnee for pretty much the whole show...funny as shit to me. Or when they did a half an hour ripping apart CBS FM...of course that wasn't within too recent of times but it was on XM.

A-fucking-men.

When they finally finished about the cake today, I turned to my co-worker and said, "Do you realize they just riffed about a fucking cake for over fifty minutes.....and it was brilliant?"

Today was great, they would edge towards a break, say that so-and-so was going to have the last line. Then that would spark someone else, and away they went again.

I love the show, I love the boys, but damn I miss the XM-only days for precisely this reason. I am damn glad we get them unrestrained for a couple hours a day.

I was listening to it while mowing my lawn this evening. I must have looked like an ass riding around the yard on my mower, laughing my ass off.

Will the bbboys ever leave something for the XM'ers...whats the point of exclusive XM content if they just carry it over to the FM side?

Today Op was CHOMPING at the bit to get that out to the CBs side. They had a great topic going about comedy and racial stereotypes, I call in to get Jimmy's take on black comic's gettin a pass on "whitey" comedy and they cut to commercial (note Im already bitter about f-ing commercials and FM radio period if you havent seen my prev. posts) Just being up front about where I stand before the accusations fly that I should fuck my mother flush blah blah and other unoriginal garbage.

So the screener (read Opie's bitch) says they moved on. Well they get a caller, when they return, that switches back to topic. So I call back cause they hadn't moved on...it's still an excellent question for Jimmy. The screener says look Op just told me told me to dump 3,4,and 5 and now all the lines are just blowin up. READ...good bit, good riff, popular topic. As SOON as Op gets a chance to speak, cause Jimmy and Ant were on a rant, he changes the topic and goes straight to his lil' bit that he was so proud of. Bursting at the ol' seams like a lil' toddler proud of his first log!

I really dont care that they didnt take my call, but more so that the phones were blitzed on the topic and all Op wanted was to spill the beans about this dumb bit.

We get it. You do extreme things. Can we at least save SOMETHING for the XM side? Just tease it at least.

I doubt they'll carry the dry cake bit over to XM tomorrow. Although I do agree with you that it is annoying when the rehash on FM, it's a necessary evil and makes for good filler too. The comic thing was going well, but they had to get the cake bit in before they left for the day. We have to realize that we are a very TINY group of people compared to the majority who listen. They are concerned about the majority just as much as us (although I think Opie can't stand us, he only likes the pests, Ant likes us). If you want to listen to a show where they don't give a fuck about what's happening, try Ron and Fezzzzzz.... Ronnie's apathy for the entire thing is just hilarious and fantastic. Opie fucking LOVES his FM gig and is trying hard to "spread the virus", so they need to appeal to them as well.

Let's just hope that the stupid FM deal doesn't take away *more* time from the XM portion. FreeFM is too fast paced and has far too many breaks.
Speaking of the breaks, I don't like the fact that any replays don't go longer than a few minutes. Instead of enjoying it, I just wait to see where it's gonna be cut off.
Why all the stupid commercials? Replay a bunch of old bits or something for those long 10 minute waits.
XM show rules. relaxed and just bullshitting, but with great comedic timing, blah, blah, blah...........

To me, it's bits like this that show how much they do appreciate and enjoy the XM portion. Where they can just go off, and beat shit into the ground and do whatever. On XM, some days you could tell, it wasn't just happening and they went through a funk. Nowadays, whenever they move over to XM you know it's going to be a ton of riffing and fun.

For me, it's the unconventional bits i like the best. The kind that "normal" radio shows would never get away with, let alone attempt. Stuff like eating on air and talking with their mouths full, or walking away from the mics and out of the studio to where you can just barely hear them in the background. Or talking about cake for an hour. NOBODY else can pull this shit off like O&A.
