Once again, another team has fallen victim to the Opie Curse, the latest being the New York Mets, and most recently the Detroit Tigers.
Opie, next year please bet on everyone except for Philly teams! :icon_mrgr

what makes the curse so wonderful this time is the argument he had with the caller from st louis, who gleefully dared opie to keep cheering for the tiger so his team would win.

The thing that is really funny about this is that it is not just his main teams...because, for example fans in Philly could claim a curse (no offense to Philly, first city that had not won in a while that popped into my head)...it extends to other teams he roots for (Tigers, Bills, etc.)

The football teams out here where I live don't need Opie's curse. I mean was surprised the Raiders beat the Steelers today, why they didn't let Rothlisberger get healthy after that hit last week is beyond me. The 49ers got killed but just find it funny that he has the reverse Midas touch, time will tell in a year and a half if Obama suffers from the curse or not.

Philly has its own curse.
Please don't remind me. It's sad that I'm 25 years old and I'm too young to remember a World Title win by any of the four major Philly teams.
I'm hoping that the Phils can at least make the wildcard in the next couple of years. The Marlins and the Cardinals have proved that sometimes that's all it takes. I won't be holding my breath though.
