Battlefield 2142 Yay or Nay

Ok should i really give in to the evil that is EA again and buy this game? Is it more or less a BF2 mod or does it implament better things? I also hear alot about spyware and ads that fuckin EA rails you with, is it that bad and do you think it is overall better than BF2.

I just downloaded it last night after reading the changes that were made. It isn't spyware outside of the game. They monitor the advertisements that you see IN GAME, nowehere else.


After a few hours of game play, I do enjoy it and I think the unlock trees are really cool.

I think the unlocks are cool, and even though it is built on the BF2 engine, the graphics (like explosions and shit) are better IMO.

I don't have alot of luck with Titan mode (glitchy, choppy mess) but I think it's mostly my PC (P4 2.4 1G RAM)

Walkers are tough, dangerous motherfuckers.

I like it, but I won't completely give up on BF2. But I need a break from Jalallalalalalallalallalalala cunt.

haha. I actually bought this game, had it sit for a week on my tv unopened, and decided to take it back for the cash.
I don't regret it. Couldn't play it anyways. I haven't been able to play BF2 since it's last update, need a bigger hard drive.

One of the reasons I like the Battlefield series is because of the semi-realistic and historical weaponry. So BF2142...meh.
If you want to get more out of BF2, do yourself a favor and download Point of Existence 2 for free. Those boys did more with BF2 content than Dice/EA ever did.

That looks fucking awsome, its just kinda confusing as to what I need to download...one file is 51mb and another one is a little over 1gb.....let me guess, i need the big one?

I play it more than BF2 anymore. Titan mode makes it a lot of fun. (the big difference from BF2) And about the weapons...they aren't much different that BF2.

The game is a lotta fun. Much more balanced and stable than Bf2. Don't let the futuristic stuff throw you off, the weapons used are very conventional with the walkers being the only really sci-fi-ish thing in the game.

MV theres gotta be an issue with your rig because its the same engine with almost no significant graphical upgrades done to it. Try a different driver set and make sure you let the graphical optimization run and not disable it.

My favorite thing about the game is the pods. You get in a pod, hit the trigger, and you can fly right into the middle of the fighting.

You can buy 1942, all its expansions, and Vietnam in one box for 10 bucks at Best Buy. Same thing for BF2 and its expansions.

Yay! Just wish it would come to 360 so I could play it. But still dig the battlefield series.

But don't know about Bad Company, since it's suppose to focus on single player, rather than online.
