Paltalk on Linux

I just got paltalk working on my Gentoo box!

wine pal_install_r17705.exe

It creates desktop shortcuts and everything!

Nice!, I'm gonna try out Gentoo when I get a hard drive for a test computer I got sitting on the floor.

Gentoo can be a pain to set up though - you have to have a very intimate knowledge of your hardware to get everything working properly. I am posting this from my gentoo install on my laptop - wirelessley! :)

and it was mostly compiling times - the DL didn't take that long. I guess that's what happens when you use the *correct* USE flags! :icon_lol:

now all I have to do is get the drivers for my camera working, and i am one step closer to migrating to linux completely!

I'm trying to get paltalk 9.1 to work with Fedora 7. I have wine 9.39 installed and ie4nix (or something like that). All I get is the login window then it crashes. Anyone have any better luck with this?

thats why Linux will never really challenge Windows. I love Linux, but I just don't have the time or patience to put it into everyday use. I've tried Ubuntu & PCLinux, but I went back to XP. I like when thing just load and work.

waiting to see if ReactOS will be what I am looking for...
