I just recently found out about this game and thought it was a cool concept for an fps, but not too sure how good it will play. Being a Civil War nut, I'm going to have to pick it up no matter how shitty it is. There has been very little press on the game and I was wondering if anyone has played it here yet or seen it in stores? The only thing I've heard is it is based on the COD engine. Hopefully, somebody will step up with an official review. Maybe IGN...

I saw an ad for it in the latest issue of Pop Sci. Looks interesting, but with the no chance of the CSA winning, I'm very disappointed.

Fire!!

reload... reload... reload... gunpowder... reload... paper... ball... reload... tamp...

Fire!!

Thrilling!

Seriously though, if they did it right could be pretty cool.

It may actually be a refreshing change of pace compared to most shooters. Hopefully it's already in the bargain bin at Gamestop.

Why would you want to play a game based on a War where the number one cause of death was fire?

I think your mistaken cause the #1 cause of death was disease.

the graphics look kind of shitty. i think this would make a better RTS than an FPS.

Well I finally got my hands on a copy. The game is a lot of fun, but has numerous problems including shitty ai and repetitive voice overs. The 500th time you hear "givem hell boys!" and "their on the run!" you will probably lose it like I did. But who am I kidding, most of you will never even play this game. In any case the variety of weapons is cool, as are the sound effects of the different guns. The level design and graphics are sub-par for the 360, but not totally awful. I can't really fault a game that allows you to snipe at oncoming Confederate soldiers from Big Round Top. There is a lot to like here if you are a fan of the Civil War, excluding the price. $49.99 is steep for this title unless you are an ass like me who needed to own it. I highly recommend those of you who are FPS fans rent it. You may actually find it to be a nice surprise.

Actually there are 12 missions, six of which you can play on the Confederate side :icon_lol:

North:
Fredricksburg, Gettysburg, Cahattanooga, Fort Fisher, Selma, Petersburg

South:
Bull Run, Shiloh, Antietam, Chancellorsville, Chickamauga, Cold Harbor

The only way I'd play this is if I could virtually undo a great wrong, and have the CSA win. Seeing as how you play Gettysburg as a yank, I think I'll pass.

Oh, but we shall rise again.

You keep on believing that one.

You should be able to play as either side. Having the CSA win Gettysburg would be worth the $50.

(stands on soapbox)i hate how these goddamn tour guides say that burning Atlanta to the ground was a huge tragedy when they totally overlook that slaves were still around.

the south would have done it to NYC or DC or even philly so its really a matter of who did it first (steps off soap box)

BTW....not a bad game
