i was at best buy earlier...you should have seen all the fools setting up their tents to camp out for the PS3. there were literally people setting up 8 ppl tents in front of the store.

I was at my local Costco next to a Circuit City and snapped a few pics of what I called dedicated fans. The ones in frount have been there since Monday. Talked to few about 75% are for a quick buck. Got like 5 friends and selling them on e-bay for 1200 min. bid but they are such nice guy they are throwing in free next-day delivery. 2 guys were there for kids and hard core PSP fans.

i went to the Wal-Mart this evening and there were about a dozen people camped out in front. no tents, but most of them were sitting in those camping chairs. for a second i almost forgot why they were out there, but quickly remembered as i walked past.

Stopped in the Target in St. Charles to see if they were selling them. The lady at the counter went into this speech about how they weren't selling them until tomorrow morning, you couldn't wait in the store, you had to wait outside, there were people in the parking lot already waiting, police will be on hand...blah..blah..blah. I told her I wasn't buying one, I was just curious because there weren't any lines outside. She said that there were people in the cars, one since yesterday. She then told me they only have 8 on hand.

When I left, there were more than 8 people outside by the door. This can only turn out well for all involved.

Turns out Sony will be losing change to the tune of $241.35 for every "premium" (WiFi and 60GB HDD) console, and a whoppin' $306.85 for the bargain-basement 20 gigger. In comparison, Microsoft loses $75.70 per 360 it sells, while Nintendo is laughing all the way to the bank with a profit per Wii sold. Just in case you missed it the first time around, or fell off your chair and forgot what you were reading about: Sony will lose the equivalent (or more) to the retail price of a competing console every time a cash register rings up a PS3 sale this holiday. We suppose it's for the best, then, that Sony won't have a whole lot of 'em to hand out, since we're sure Sony's own costs will start to drop as production really ramps up next year.
