I remember a time when I laughed during this show. Sure, sometimes they didn't have a great show, but I would at least laugh a couple of times.

Now, I sit here and wonder "Why the fuck am I watching this?"

I know there are some out there who believe it's for the high school and college groups, but I disagree. If you throw on some good writing, good characters, and some fucking comedic brains, I would be watching and laughing. Now, it's fucking nothing.

SNL stinks and I don't like it.

SNL is in the Howard Stern part of its run now. Was relevant and funny 15 years ago. Now just running on fumes and reputation.

Another pure dogshit broadcast tonight. Holy fuck they really need to put this show to rest. Give another show a chance. A show that's not afraid to piss off people. Like SNL used to be.

The funny part is, they do have upswings in talent and comedy every now and then.

It was fresh in the late 70's obviously, fucking died in the 80's, came back in the 90's, kinda died again but came back again with the cast Will Ferral and the like where in, and now eats ass, again.

I guess they're hoping for another upswing soon. Kinda like a baseball team that only won a few word series. Only problem with SNL is when it's bad, it is MOTHERFUCKING bad.

I haven't watched a show in years.

I haven't watched it in years. That last laughs I remember having was the Cowbell bit, and the Shweaty Balls bit.

Besides, I thought last night's episode was ok. I thought the history buffs skit was probably the best skit in years.

When Hugh Laurie (Dr. House) was on a little while back, everyone here said it was the best episode in years. Here's a couple clips thanks to Youtube--

Am I the only one who never found Will Ferral funny?

No, he's extremely hit or miss, but I felt he was funny on SNL and the time period he was on was usually more funny than not.

Actually, now that I think about it, I did think he was okay in 'Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back'

the past couple of shows haven't been that bad but last nights was completely horrible. The only laugh i had came when they did the news desk and the girl did a rant on the no panty craze.

Celebrity jeopardy still makes me laugh.
Sean Connery talking smack about trebek's mother killed me.

As far as the show now, the one thing I would watch for was the weekend update and it just stinks. Amy and seth dont play off eachother well at all.

Yeah, Weekend Update is the only part of that show that's even remotely consistently funny. Amy Poehler definitely breaks the stereotype of unfunny chicks, she is pretty good. The other funny part (also in Weekend Update) was the Jesse Jackson/Al Sharpton bit about how "Kramer" is the new "N****r." "You my Kramer!" "Kramer Please!" But for the most part, the show really blows.

And what the fuck is up with Tenacious D? Is there ANYONE out there who finds that stupid act even remotely funny?!? Jack Black is at about 14:59 and counting.

If they have a good musical guests I'll tune in, other then that it isn't worth the time for a little chuckle or two.

Beck has been one the best musical guests so far this season.

True enough. That show has gone up and down over the years. Great in the 70's and early 80's(Belushi, Ackroyd, Chase, Murray, to Murphy, Jo Piscopo, ) then went downwards. Then shot back up with the likes of Bruer, Hartman, Myers, Rock, Sandler, Carvey and alot of others. To continue on with Will Ferall and Tracey Morgan but now it's going back down.
And it doesn't look like it'll go back up anytime soon...

Am I the only one who never found Will Ferral funny?
Possibly.

He had a ton of great bits... His Alex Trebek (sp?) was great, the cheeleader bit was usually quite good, and the recurring bit with Rachel Dratch, where they were creepy hippy-types who talked about their sex lives was fucking great. One of the greatest bits I've ever seen on any sketch comedy show was when Will and Madeline Kahn delivered their homemade wedding vows...

And for the record, I don't think last night's show was particularly bad. It was average for the genre, which is to say that at least it was STILL better than any single episode of Mad TV EVER.

I'll agree, the Jeopardy bit was pretty funny (although I thought Darrell Hammond as Sean Connery was the funnier part of that sketch). The cheerleader thing never really did it for me, and I don't think I've seen the other bits you mentioned. So I guess, in all fairness, there could be plenty of things out there that I'd like, but just simply haven't seen.

Am I the only one who never found Will Ferral funny?
No, I never really found him funny. For some reason, everyone fratboy and sorority girl thinks that Wil Ferrell is a laugh riot. He acts like he's stupid and high all of the time. That's not really funny to me. Anchorman was okay but other than that, his films suck. I saw that Talladega Nights shit for free at my school through the SA and it sucked ass.

As far as SNL is concerned, it has about as much relevance as Hoo-Hoo does. Exterminate that show, Ramon!

Didn't like him on SNL. He's OK in Old School and Anchorman.

I thought SNL relied too much on Ferrell.

I hated farrell on snl, I like him much better now. I haven't watched it since it got taken off comedy central. It seems like they just let any shitty actor with an ounce of fame host now. The old ones with walken are gold
