Holy fuck, dude. I've been trashing this movie for the past 6 months or so. I HAD an open mind when I read that Bob Clark (the director of the original) was supposed to have major input on this one....then the still pics and trailers and spoilers started coming out.

This movie is going to be a goddamn travesty. The original is one of the few movies that still scare me to this day...and they've gone and ruined everything that made the original great.

I understand that SOME movies could be brought into the present day without any huge issues, but this was the movie that inspired "When a Stranger Calls" and "Halloween", this is the kind of movie that, if they ever remade, should NOT be dumbed down.

Spoilers to follow, for those pussies that would complain about such a thing.....(though, if you're going to complain about a movie that is 30 years old being spoiled, you have bigger problems)

One of the best selling points of the original was that the killer has no known motive, and there's no real resolution to the killings. At the end of the movie, the police and heroine figure they've got everything solved...it was the one girls' douchebag boyfriend....then the attic opens up while the phone rings, and you KNOW bad shit is about to happen.

In the new goddamn trailer, they give a faggoty background and motive for the killer. They turned someone who was truly frightening (seriously, watch the original) into a fucking pathetic mama's boy.
