Hi everyone,

I've chatted about this with some of the ladies here and I'm posting it for anyone else that are interested.

Carnival has a two day "cruise to nowhere" out of NYC on 10/18/07. This is on the Carnival Miracle. I thought it would be fun to get a bunch of gals on the ship for a short getaway. Carnival isn't the top cruise line but it is cheap and short and no flying is required (convenient for our wonderful MILFs :icon_mrgr) Anyway, here's the info:

Itinerary
Thursday 10/18 New York, NY 5:00pm Sailing from NYC
Friday 10/19 Fun Day At Sea
Saturday 10/20 New York, NY 8:00am Arrival back in NYC

Pest Chicks Booze Cruise Invite (includes cruise/booking details) (http://www.carnivalconnections.com/InvitationSplash.aspx?ID=79483166-3c53-4176-a5d4-1ec21962d962).

Cost
Pricing starts from $329 per person (though it's cheaper if you book three to a cabin...my two friends and I booked a balcony cabin for about the same as two of us in an interior). This includes accomodations, entertainment and meals (booze is extra). Gratuity is also extra ($20 paid on board), and if you want trip insurance it'll be about another $20.

You will not need a passport as there are no stops, but you'll need a picture ID and a birth certificate.

You can book through Carnival but I was able to get a slightly better deal through Crucon cruise outlet (http://www.crucon.com) (I've used them several times). I saved about $150 compared to booking direct through Carnival, but any large travel agent will probably be able to beat the published prices for you.

Anyway, we all thought it would be a fun short trip for the ladies...anyone's welcome to come. Guys, we can't keep you from showing up, it's a free country. But if you try to hang with us all night, we'll just talk about menstruation until you high-tail it for the cigar bar :action-sm

If you are interested, make your own cabin reservations with whoever you wish to bunk with and post here...when we get closer to sailing date we'll figure out how to set up dining arrangements, activities, etc. (just be sure to select late dining when you make your reservation so we can all eat together).

If you have any questions PM me or post here...if you are interested and would like to find cabin mates post here as well...we can certainly figure something out for everyone!

We'll do something special to commemorate the trip (short as it is)...Carnival is known as the booze cruise, so we just might need a commemorative item -- we may not remember anything else :icon_mrgr

Yes, it's ten months away but I need something to look forward to :) I'm sure some people will book early and some late...we'll just keep track of everything here and on the Connections page.

See ya on board!

OooOOoooO! Sounds like much fun, but I'll have to give it some thought. I'm heading to Ireland in November, and need to see if I can swing both trips.

Nice...yes I forgot about the Helix. I am going to say that it possibly will work while we are close to shore...but we're not going that far off the coast for the entire duration so it may be OK. I have heard some people say they get reception, some do not. I haven't tried it though so can't say for sure.

Here's my take on it. Yes, we've established this as a gal's outing, but it's a free country and the Carnival Miracle is a big boat. If you want to go as a couple, have at it and we'll still make sure we all get to be together for dinner, etc. We have several gals going stag and some others have expressed interest in taking their SOs. I'm sure it'll be fun with whoever ends up joining us. Believe me we won't all be crawling around the ship in a pack of pests (for the most part) so it'll be a nice time regardless.

Only two rules -- what happens on the Miracle STAYS on the Miracle and we'll kick the guys out of our area of the bar for any "gal talk" (sorry boys, but at least the casino is nice :icon_mrgr )

And of course we all know the http://img441.imageshack.us/img441/3865/dramallamacr0.jpg stays home :action-sm

I'm going to call my and Paul's TA tomorrow and get some final group prices, then post them hear so everyone gets a better idea of "real" pricing. Stay tuned...

Any other questions post here or PM me...

I'm glad I still have friends at Coast Guard Sta Sandy Hook.
I think one of them may still owe me a favor.
See you gals on the high seas! (Don't bring any weed and make sure all of you dark lookin broads have your papers in order) :icon_mrgr

Speaking of papers, no passport needed for this trip as there are no stops. If you have one it's easier but if not, a birth certificate and legal picture ID should do. However, if your legal name is different from your birth certificate you will also need a marriage certificate.

If you do not have a passport and decide to get one before the trip, I suggest you start looking into it now...because the laws changed and passports are now required to return from Mexico and Canada, there is a very long wait for processing applications this year. Could be a couple of months and will probably get worse as the year goes on.

OK everyone,

Paul gave me the name of a local Travel Agent that is willing to help us out with coordinating cabins, etc. for this trip. I've spoken to him and if you book with him this month here is his pricing:

All prices are per person

Two in a cabin:
Interior Cat 4A: 329 pp plus tax (January sale gets a 4C)
Oceanview Cat 6A: 359 pp plus tax
Balcony Cat 8A: 379 pp plus tax (January sale gets a 8C)

Three in a cabin:
Balcony Cat 8A: $957 for ALL THREE plus tax
(I don't recommend three in an interior because one bunk is pulled down from the wall and the cabins are smaller and hard for three to move around in, but if you're up to it call Dave and he'll hook you up)

He is also offering a $25 bar credit per cabin for each booking, and if we get a lot of cabins together he'll see what else he can do.

Here's his contact information:

Dave Rosenthal
CruiseOne
(800) 423-6013
(732) 530-1027

www.family-cruises.net/dmrosenthal

Dave will also help you select cabin positions...if anyone cares my cabin is all the way aft on deck 4 (Main). If you want to look at ship deck plans go here: http://www.carnival.com/Deck_Plans.aspx?shipCode=MI

Many thanks again to NFP for hooking us up (and congrats for knowing someone who actually tolerates you) :action-sm

The cruises to nowhere do not go far from shore, just enough to be in international waters. You will be able to pick up satellite signals, but not repeaters. You'll only be about 12 miles from the south end of Long Island, cruising in circles very slowly.

Also if you get enough peoples, your agent should be able to arrange a cocktail party one night with free booze. At least if it were a longer cruise you could.

The TA is working on it but it depends on the number of people who decide to go...
