You might have an infection or irritated the tissues. "Plugged up" and loss of hearing generally indicates this.
Glenn, I think you're lame for abandoning metal, but you don't want to mess with your hearing. Go and find someone who will take you, even if you go to the ER.
Just speak spanish and pretend you don't have a social security number. You won't have to pay for anything.

No, somewhere seeking money to buy something so he can go somewhere for the purposes of drinking. In about four hours he'll post here complaining about how the blue laws he knew were in place all along prevented him from buying booze after the lockout time.
Our fine friend is suffering from what is medically called "impacted cerumen". Go to the doctor, spend the 50 bucks and they will tip your head to the side, pour some diluted hydrogen peroxide into your ear and let it sit. After about 5 minutes, they will have you hold what is commonly refered to as a "puke basin" under your ear and shoot warm water into it with a giant syringe. The water will flow behind the big plug of wax that's in there and flush it out. Have them do both ears. You will feel like a million bucks.
You also can buy an "Ear Wax Removal Kit" from your local CVS which comes with a carbamide peroxide solution and a squeeze bulb. I would suggest the doctor this first time however so that he can check for any inflamation or fluid behind your ear drum.

Hmmm, I just did that BCH... i got that crap, I clean my ears alot because of being in construction.. But i didnt let the shit sit in long enough i think. was kinda trial run... Im waiting n hour to see if I start getting worse pain and take another crack at it.
Ohh, great just read the shit I have Murine product blows. Said its least effective and leaves more candle wax that it removes.. NICE:*(
I have to do this about once every 3 months for myself. I usually go 2 or 3 times with peroxide (straight) and then fill the squeeze bulb to the very top and blast one shot into the ear, fill it up again and take another blast. 2 or 3 blasts should do the trick. Don't pussy out either shoot it in there pretty good. You'll actually hear when you've moved it then one more blast washes it out. Use tepid water. 90-100 Deg. F.
Good Luck.

All that shit is carbamer peroxide. You can use the Hydrogen Peroxide yourself and see what happens.

I have been cleaning my ears that way my whole life... ever since i was real young and my dad did me n my brother and a friggin pea sized rock came outa my brothers ear. we were like shit!
this is just odd because, i didnt realy do anything wierd? and Ive been sick, so it could be an infection... Ill give irigation one more crack after that Im gonna have to go to the docs.

I find the run of the mill hydrogen peroxide works better anyway because the carbamide peroxide is usually thickened. The lower viscosity seems to get in and around the clog better. It's also not sticky. Eww.

Just go to a walk in Doc place and ask for free samples of whatever RX they write. If you've been feeling sick it's just going to get worse with the sudden drop of temperature coming.

I went to a nose/throat/ear specialist for this once and the guy cleaned both ears out with some suction device. I've never heard so well in my life. It was amazing. If you can find a doctor that does this I highly recommend it. Beats the hell out of the water bottle squeezin way.
Good luck Bro! :action-sm

If you've been sick and had any kind of throat crap it could be an infection or crap backed up into your eustachion tubes. Mine are shitty now because of the tonsillectomy I had at age 20. If you have had any kinds of dizziness (not induced by alcohol) associated with the plugging and loss of hearing, or pressure that feels like its in your jaw that could be it. Then go see a doctor or at least a minute clinic or something. Especially if flushing it doesn't help. Then buy some good ear plugs, I prefer the Rockets. They are reusable, cleanable, and not to big that they make your ear canal hurt.

My dads got a stack of nudie magazines this high. ( courtesy of the grizwalds)
other than that just an infected ear, should go well with your eye.
Sorry to hear about your ear but you just explained the vertigo I have been having lately. Got me a doctor appointment tomorrow night. Maybe Ive got an inner ear infection. Very scary neon boogies. Lots too. My brother and I were wondering what boogies were before they were snot. I mean, what does your body use to make it? I could use a box of tissues in one day and still have more.
Also I realize you can have a cold in the Caribbean and feel fine. Then come back up here and instantly you can feel your sinuses start to swell and turn red. I may have to move for medical reasons.

go to one of those clinics or whatever and they'll flush out ur ear by having you tilt ur head to one side and they'll squirt water up into ur ear so it flushes out the wax/buildup....easy as pie
after they wash out the big ball of wax or whatever is built up you'll be hearing so damn clear it is incredible

I had that problem once, I think I pushed the wax in when I was trying to clean it out. I tried hold my nose and blowing but that just made it hurt worse. It slowly went away after about 2 weeks

unfortunately, you're not supposed to use q-tips to clean your ear. Though you get some of the shit around the opening of your ear canal, you are actually pushing stuff in deeper....which it sounds like you did a good job at doing.
Most likely your eyes will start filling up with a slimy fluid as well if it gets any worse. (I did that back when I was in high school. the doctor went in and seriously pulled about about 2 inches of a "wax worm" that had gone down my ear canal)
Just go to the doctor, and I bet he/she tells you the same thing "Use a warm wash cloth to clean your ears"...not a stick with some cotton
good luck dood

Copied from Wiki:
Mucus is a slippery secretion of the lining of various membranes in the body (mucous membranes). It is a viscous colloid containing antiseptic enzymes (such as lysozyme) and immunoglobulins. Mucus is produced by goblet cells in the mucous membranes that cover the surfaces of the membranes. It is made up of mucins and inorganic salts suspended in water. Phlegm is a type of mucus that is restricted to the respiratory tract, while the term mucus refers to secretions of the nasal passages as well.
Mucin
Mucus is produced by submucosal cells as well as goblet cells in the respiratory system. It consists of mucin, a highly glycolsilated peptide. Upon stimulation, MARPKs (myrastine-alanine rich protein kinases) signal the binding of mucin filled vesciles to the plasma membrane. The fusion of the vesciles causes the release of the mucin, which as it exchanges Ca2+ for Na+ expands up to 600 fold. The result is a viscoelastic product of interwoven molecules called mucus.
Your body uses this stuff all over, including to line the stomach and intestines as well as the clear stuff in men and women. You can't live without mucus.

Make sure the person at the doc's office doesn't have the same problem. They may think you said "rear" instead of "ear" and you'll have an Opie-style office visit.

Might of just caught a break, a girlfriend of mine had some antibiotic eardrops from her and her son having an ear infection a few months ago... shes dropping me off the goods in a lil bit;)
I hope it works because I honestly feel like theres an ice pick jammed in my ear at the moment.

My dad had this issue, he developed sudden and total deafness in one of his ears. He went to the doctor and after taking some steriods the inflammation dissappeared and now he can hear again. Could be something different though.

I had a double ear infection (inner and outer) in both ears, passed out at the breakfast table and off to the hospital. The fucking dot head gave me codeine for the pain, but what about the fucking infections?
Went to the doctor only to have them stick some wicking crap to get to the infucktion.

from what it sounds like he had the same thing as me, it wasnt an infection, just a fucking lot of clogged wax. with each shower and rinse it got a little better. drinking beer out of a bottle hurt so much from all the jaw pain. go to webmd, it usually gives you a good idea on how long you can wait for the symptoms to clear up before you should go to a doc. or I can just pee in your ear, that usually works, but it'll cost you

This would be great if you lost your hearing because those drops lost their potency and you were only pouring by products of the normal decay into your ear.
