We all know we wouldn't be here unless we enjoyed the show. How about you play Producer for a post. If it is so easy to tear apart shit, put yourself in the position of keeping it all together.

Show prep. Throw myself in the barrel for the good of the show, throw others in the barrel. Seek out guests that work for the show. Seek out news of the day that could be used on the show. Not treat callers, who usually are about 2% of the listeners like bags of shit . Be quick to get what is mentioned by the hosts, like a clip, song or whatever to help the show. Do what the hosts or anyone asks as fast as can be and not ask why. Never portray anything is a burden. Always be proud to be associated with the show.

Look for the obscure story that most shows wouldnt talk about...dont be afraid to go long form and allow the talent time to really flesh out a good bit...Work with other producers to create a interesting product thats different then the average show...Unfortunately advertisiers control the direction of the show...its a different landscape in terms of how radio is done...Regular radio is not the place to be shocking you have to be really smart to put together something that is truly entertaining and thats a really hard thing to do..Other then characters that are on the show on a regular basis there isnt much of a place for big interviews i dont think people get drawn to a show because they are having a big musical guest or a actor promoting a movie...People will listen to a show full of characters that they care about...Even if the hosts are great interviewers its not gonna make people listen...you have to be smart entertaining and be thinking about creating something new and different everyday...

Those sound like good ideas - I'd listen to that.

I'd work on the flow, or seemingly lack thereof.

How to not make it seem so choppy, even though they have to stick to that schedule on FM.

It cuts into everything they do, and they never seem to get going. I know they have to work around the schedule, but maybe there's a better way to do it. There has to be.

How about bringing some energy to the XM side of the show? Enuf with the Song Lists (or any kind of list), loooong silent pauses during bits, radio teases, and allowing the random in house listener take over the show while you guys just sit back and eat etc.
