I can't start a thread but please, if somebody who deems this worthy would post a new thread, please do. (I've been a reader for a while and a poster for not long).

I am about to graduate college and have no clue of what I want to do. I'm to earn a B.A. majoring in Media Studies with a desire to work in radio (stemming from before my O&A fandom days) but I can NOT get the desire to serve out of my head: I want to be an Army Ranger. I only feel the most comfortable when I envision myself as a soldier and, after reading as much as possible about the military, the Rangers are the course that I believe to be the most fitting for myself. While my fears lie, reasonably I think, in being killed or hurt--I can't shake the desire to join up. I do not feel it appropriate to join as an officer as I don't understand how some chump coming out of college can tell somebody who's 'been there/done that' what to do-so I am pretty confused at this point.

SO enough rambling...soldiers/marines/vets of wackbag--if you can throw any opinions/thoughts about what your experiences were/are like in the military, I would appreciate it. I know there must be others on this board who have considered it and your comments will undoubtably to be welcome. Tell me what made you sign up-Whatever it was. I've got Marine buddies who have told me about their tours (most are just out of their terms and entering college now) and I can't get enough.
