O&A in Vegas fans out west got screwed.

Maybe I should just stay a stupid listener, but I have this burning question that I can't get answered. O&A spent three days in Vegas which is an affiliate town and did not do a show. It completely baffles me as to why this was. If they were only out here at the behest of Leslie Moonves for a three minute thing, then why the hell not?

I'm not a radio executive I just play one here and in my truck. It would've been easy to do a remote here. It should've taken no more effort than Cleveland, Boston, or Philly, plus, they would've done a live show after all that time off they keep addressing. You guys back east would've benefitted too, one less replay.

Norton observed after the Vegas appearance for Bob Saget that there were more fans than he expected here and he was "really surprised". I tried many times to get on and ask the boys if they were going to do a show here, right before they left why they weren't, and after they came why they didn't. On the last two instances I made it past Than, and was on hold for at least 40 minutes twice on two different days right before they left, and the day theyreturned. Before they left Opie dumped me as they changed subjects, my timing was a little off there so I understand. The day of the return I was right on with the timing, and still Opie dumped my call. I'm assuming it was him as he has explained that he does that from time to time when they are moving on. Is there a problem with the west that we don't know about? They propped up Chicago's efforts at organizing the other day, what are we, lepers?

They have a fanbase out here that is growing rapidly, many would've made the trip from surrounding states, (no small trip)if they were afraid of low numbers, why? They've had appearances bomb before, and those were specially planned. This one if it happened and it flopped would have been no big deal cause they were here anyway. Nobody would've been out much.

A whole lot of us are XM listeners, and they want us to support the affiliates, but why should we if we're going to be ignored?

Does anybody have any answers to these questions, I would appreciate it. I get the show but stupid radio decisions put me at a loss. Any ideas to prevent this from happening again would help too.

We got shit on. I don't want to think the boys don't care about the western fans, I think it's more corporate, but you can see it would be an easy thought to have.

However, they do need to realize that if they are going to get as big as they want they will need the West, especially if they want to get on, and succeed in LA. They need to get on it and create a buzz out here, remember they were fairly well established in the East, and returned and have re-captured the buzz. Vegas is a strange place, I see people out here starting their days at 4 am, just a thought but, what if they broadcast a show live here at 3 am, and replayed it at 10am where they are playing it now. Many stations across the country double play a show in their day, why not here. The fly in the ointment is Adam Corrolla, but based on Jimmy's tale of him not having him on, he should go. If I were the PD of KXTE I would do it, what is it going to do hurt the overnite ratings?

I like the road shows, but I understand the problem with the 3 hour time difference. A live show at 3AM doesn't probably work (even in Vegas). So, they put worst of on for a few days.

It seems everytime they have a worst of, its always something we have heard before...shit they were off for almost 2 weeks there and I heard the same shit at least 3 times on 2 seperate occasions! 2 years of XM content and access to the book of bits and they play shit that just happened a week ago. Also when they replay the show, if you dont record it you are fucked! They cut the shows to shit, WHY? No need to cut them up just replay them like they did back in the old days. Why cut up a two:icon_evil 3 hour shows to fit in a 6 hour block so you can play them 2 times? It sucks, and replay listeners miss out on alot of funny shit.

What I was saying that if I were the PD of KXTE, and had a set of balls, I would consider trying it. Something different, lead be a pioneer, hoo hoo invent. Since theres nothing special on then whats too lose. According to the schedule on KXTE there is no-one doing a specific show from 3-5, just playing music, so I would gamble, put O&A on at 3-5, then replay you guys at 10 in entirety. You guys and Corrolla live could be a good thing. I've heard him and he's...OK. XM not having a broadcast here this year is a separate issue that I will leave alone. I will hold the pictures of prolapsed buffaloes for now.
