I thought these new NHL Jerseys coming from Reebok were going to absolutely suck. Players who wore the prototype jerseys were saying that they were too tight and that they had to tuck them in. Looks like Reebok listened to the complaints, check out the pic in the USA Today.

We'll have to wait and see how these changes will affect the team jerseys for next season.

Many players have complained about them because of the "fit to body shape" style. They say its a little restricting and doesn't allow for the free movement that loser jersies do.

look good, I know Smytty had complained after the Olympics about the jersey being way to snug. There were stories that it took two guys to get both Bertuzzi's and Pronger's jerseys on.

After seeing how tight the current jerseys look on those beergut fans in the stands, these new jerseys will look like Borat swimsuits on them.

i thought this jersey idea got stopped during the cba. I personally dont like them at all.

Plus also, this might drive the price of jersey's up. Hockey jerseys are expensive now, i wonder what these new things will cost.

I honestly don't mind the new jersey's, the look better than the Olympic ones, andd compared to the changes the NBA has made to their jersey's, these aren't bad

The biggest fear for players and fans was that Reebok was going to make drastic changes and for a while it looked like it was going that way. I'm glad that the changes are more technical and less visual to the point that the layman probably won't even notice any difference when watching on TV.

I'll definitely try one on when they show up in my local store.

Cromwell, have you looked in the stands? Our guy fans may be fat bastards, but the Isles -- no joke -- have the fattest female fans in the league. <wavey hand whatever thingie!>

I'm glad they listened to the players and loosened up the jerseys a bit. Although it still sounds like they'll be snug (but with some mesh for "give"). I didn't want them looking like Nike's soccer jerseys. Those form-fitting faggy shirts.

"Vertical" design? Ugh. Wonder who's gonna do that. I'll guess the Kings will write "Los Angeles" down their arms... like they did across the bottom of the jerseys.

How long before we see sponsor logos on the jerseys like the minor leagues?

Tell that to Christie Brinkley

Now, now Dougal, no need to turn this into a pissing contest . . .

This is the big money maker the NHL and Reebok is looking for. Change the jersey's for every team in the league and jack the price up a couple hundred dollars.

That's right...a couple hundred dollars compared to the current style.

NHL.com is selling these All-Star jerseys personalized for $424.00 US. Authentics non personalized...$349. You can usually pick up an authentic for about $149 and $230 customized. As for the replica...it is cheap...$109. However, I've heard from some people that have had their hands on the replicas that, they're absolutely crap. Some people have made the comparison similar to late 80's style CCM replicas...that were that air-knit, non-breathing style that was used more on the kid's sizes. Judging by the difference in price...you're gonna want an authentic. This could be big money for the NHL and Reebok considering most, if not all teams will be using this style.

It is more form-fitting, but not as bad as we originally thought. And they don't have to be tucked into the pants like some thought. The crests are smaller, the horizontal stripes are gone and may go up the side, no more third jerseys, and the NHL is apparently going back to the home/white, away/dark style. That's all I've heard. I think some Calgary Flames forum re-designed some jerseys to resemble the changes the NHL is planning and what they might look like. I'll try and find it.

Yeah, they're changing back because the NHL and the franchises have milked all the money they can get out of the third jerseys. I remember when 3rd jerseys first came around and teams had to tell their opponents ahead of time to bring their home/whites because they decided to wear their dark 3rd jersey against them.

I too miss the home white jerseys, I was just more used to it. Now, our teams can have white-outs!

Steve Lepore does a weekly post on SFM about the NHL... he raises some good points on the new sweaters in this week's post. Interesting news about going back to the home white. I understand most fans like that idea, being that they dont see the same two colors every home game (home color vs. white)... however as a Rangers fan, I like that the Broadway Blues wear blue at home.

I love seeing the blue at home.

However, I shant be buying a new jersey. No reason. The Rangers jersey will stay the same. I doubt they're gonna get rid of the red and white horizontal stripes. It's been like that for 80 years.

Oh, and FUCK BETTMAN, by the way.

I'm happy that home whites are coming back. I could never get used to seeing the white jerseys when watching a road game -- it just never "felt" right, gut instinct I guess.

As for the 3rd jerseys, I'm glad they are going away, although I just heard on 204 that Columbus is scrapping the CBJ logo jersey and going with their current 3rd jersey full-time starting next season.

The authentic ones are going to cost a fortune :(. The NHL ASG Press Conferences and Salute to Stars is being streamed live on NHL.com right now. I wish DTV would pick up the NHL Network.

Okay, watching NHL Network right now and they are showing the Western Conference players skating around in their new high-tech Jerseys. The jerseys look fine from a distance, but up close when a player is being interviewed, it doesn't look right. Something looks off. I dunno, maybe it's the way it now wrinkles, or the way it doesn't hang like a hockey jersey is supposed to because it isn't as heavy anymore. Or maybe it's the usual tradition of the NHL picking really shitty colors for their ASG jerseys.

Well, since I don't care about Oscar nominations or BAM's political views... I switched over to Home Ice instead of R&F today. It seems that the jersey has received a lot of positive feedback from the players. Crosby, Lidstrom, Ovechkin, and Sakic all had good things to say. One of the most convincing interviews I heard was from Marty Turco, who was very positive as well. If a goalie doesn't have a problem with the shirts, it's probably not that big of a deal. The only complaints I heard from anyone is that they have not unveiled what each and every team's shirt will look like next season. One thing that has been confirmed is that the horizontal stripes on jerseys like the Rangers and Blackhawks will not be messed around with, and that the original 6's jerseys will remain the same. So that's good news.
