I wasn't much of a Mitch fan either. I recognize the guy was talented but I don't view him as someone like Hicks or Kinison where you should really consider it a great tragedy to comedy that he's gone.

This show is pretty good so far. I happen to think the inner workings of comedy is an interesting subject to cover because nobody from the industry does it in fear of losing a gig. Bonnie is saving the show. Without her Vos would be rambling on.

Also, Mitch Hedberg was really great. It's a style of comedy that is hard to get into because it borders on silly. I think Hedberg took the Steven Wright style to another level and improved on it because he commented on what was going on in the room too.

As for Demitri Martin. I liked his stuff in the past but right now I want to rip those damn t shirts he wears with the sayings off his back and ring his neck.

I like the comic background, too. I saw Demetri Martin when he was here in Chicago recording his CD. He had a Q&A on Sunday with his fans, and I talked with him for awhile afterwards. He definitely fits the mold of "alt" comics, but I believe he genuinely cares about comedy and entertaining his fans.

I saw Vos and Bonnie last time they were in Chicago (and will see them again when they come in Feb/March... can't remember the date). Obviously, a completely different TYPE (audience interaction, delivery, material) of comedy, but there's definitely the same passion that validates them as popular comedians.

I hate to make this comparison, but its like if pizza is your favorite food, would you want pizza everyday for the rest of your life? I love O&A, but I also like different comics as well.

The phone lines must have been busy, because I dialed up and got busy signals for at least 20-30 minutes, and got a call through and on-air.

If Rich & Bonnie had nothing to talk about they probably would have taken more phone calls, but they had no dead air time which means to me that they held their own and did a damn good show, especially for it being their first show.
