How much would you pay for Super Bowl tickets? As a Bears fan, I am really struggling with this.

I just checked around now. Ebay is ridiculous with them going for $6 grand to $3 grand for some cheap end zones.
cheapest seats at Razor Gator are 3 grand too. Fuck it is expensive.
If it were the Jets playing in the game, I'd probably try and find a way to get there, it'd be something I would probably never see in a lifetime again.

me too, Bears fan and struggling.
i cant wait another 20+ years.
but i cant go 6k in debt either.
i am in the middle of a kitchen remodel.
so either my kitchen waits with bare studs and plumbing problems or i go to the superbowl.....
i will not be attending this one. all i can hope for is a back to back performance!
Go Bears!

Your best bet it to find some sort of connection that would be kind enough to sell them for face value, although that is very idealistic of me...
It's like when the Sox went to the world series, once in a lifetime, I wish I went, but I couldn't shell up the money...

Personally I wouldn't pay more than a $1k for a ticket.
How do Bears fans travel? The reason I ask is that there's a possibility that you score some tickets once the game starts for a little over face value from a scalper because they don't want to eat the ticket and they probably already made their money back. That wasn't the case when the eagles were there as they were still paying top dollar towards the end of the 1st quarter. The risk in that move is that your in Miami and don't score seats (not that being in Miami w/o tix is necessarily a bad thing).
The thing to remember is that tickets are only part of the equation, you need a flight, hotel room and ya gotta eat. $6k just for tickets is a little steep, especially when Face Value is only $400. I know a bunch of people mortgaged their homes when the Eagles went a couple years ago. That is a bit much for me, but I think that it comes down to what the experience is worth to you. I had an opportunity to get tickets for the eagles/pats @ face value, but turned them down because I knew that I wouldn't be able to enjoy myself trying to scrimp by on a marginal budget once I was there.
If you decide to go, good luck booking a flight and be prepared to stay AT LEAST 2 hours OUTSIDE Miami and get beat over the head for everything while your there...
If you do go, have fun and do it right.

I'm with ih8u... If it was my team in there... I'd go $1,000. But that's given the financial situation I'm in right now. Lets just say money wasn't an issue, I'd probably pay the $5k-$6k because I love going to important sporting events if my team is involved. Burky... fuck the kitchen, its the Superbowl. :action-sm

Well being a Yankee fan, I've paid 300.00 for WS tickets not even game 4 but game 3 and it was in the bleachers. Pay what you feel is right. Back then I missed a car payment or 2 to goto the, game fuck it. I was there and wanted to be there, so I paid!

yeah, i'd like to say that. but i have weighed the experience v budget.
i understand going and paying it off for a while v a once in a life time chance.
but if you look at it, life is a bunch of once in a life time chances.
i care moe about the investment in my house at this point in time.
the kitchen is a more important once in a life time chance.
