So The Colts vs. The Bears.

My opinions. The Colts look like the better team. They have been relatively solid all year long. But the cosmos has a sense of humor and Manning has one last big game to lose to make his resume complete.

Thee Bears have looked sloppy in recent weeks, but even when they don't play well they find a way to win and have the devil's own luck. They completely dismembered the Saints. On a personal note, the Bears better God Damn win after knocking off the Hawks.

I don't know about that. The Colts are overrated and the Bears underrated. It's going to be close, whoever wins.

Nope. Manning is expected to get his ring finally, and Rex Grossman is uhhhhhhh..... uhhhhhh..... who? He's been really aweful most games, and decent in others. No WAY the Bears are going to pull it off, mark my words. I hope they do, but it's not going to happen.... I just really really hate the Colts.

How are the Colts overrated?"whaa" they have been bashed the enitre year for having a weak defense and how Manning can't win in the playoffs. They were suppose to get ran over in the first round, then they were suppose to lose to the Ravens, and then there is no way they beat Brady and the Pats. Sounds to me like they were the ones underrated.

Bears "D" causes too many turnovers, for Colts to overcome.

The overlooked foot of Robbie Gould. - [B]Uh we have Vinatieri
The Urlacher lead "D". - We have beat D that were just as good if not better ---- The Ravens
The Benson/Jones chip away running. They were able to stop Larry Johnson, Jamal Lewis, and now Corey Dillon and Laurency Marhoney/Kevin Faulk
The 7/20 248yd performance of Sexy Rexy. Colts have a good Pass D and he will have at least 1 pick if not more

The Colts will put up some great offense.
Bears "D" causes too many turnovers, for Colts to overcome. They said the same thing about the Ravens

I agree with most of those, thats why they're both going to the superbowl
the run D i said we can chip away and then have rexy throw 7-20.
i did not say they were the offensive juggernaut that indy is.
i think the turnovers that the bears d will cause, will keep the scoring low.
the chip away at running for the bears offense willbe to avoid rexy throwing as much, hence maybe 1 pick, no more.

I think this is going to be a great Superbowl. Some early thoughts on the game:

The Bears have a great defense, but are shaky in the secondary. This plays to the Colts strength.

I think Dungy is a better coach than Smith and if it comes down to who has the better game plan, my money is on Dungy.

The real question is what happens when the Bears have the ball and the Colts are on defense? The Colts have proven that defense has some holes in it but the Bears offense is just way to inconsistent (and not just Grossman, those receivers drop a lot of passes as well.)

When it is all said and done, I like the Colts. Say, 27-17.

It should be a good game regardless, but Defense tends to beat Offense in the super bowl, so I am leaning Bears right now. I think that the Bears O can put up enough points to win, while the D gets a few key stops against the Colts.

Granted if everyone does the same (picks the bears) my opinion would probably change as I tend to be contrarian in picking sides...

The Saints played terribly, which is not that shocking considering their inexperience, the overhyping they got all week, and the crummy weather. I will give the Bears credit for picking apart Fred Thomas on one drive and capitalizing somewhat on turnovers. The Colts on the other hand looked awful in the first half, and great in the second half against a very tired NE defense. They won't have that going for them after two weeks of rest.

To me the teams look very similar. Say what you will about Manning being a HOF'er and Grossman being shit, but in these playoffs they look like the same QB to me. The same goes for the supposedly great Bears Defense and the supposedly shitty Colts defense. In these playoffs they look the same.

If that's the case, it may come down to mental issues, and here the Bears have a huge advantage. They will be an underdog in this game despite being the #1 seed. Grossman has already heard so much crap he's pratically impervious to it now. On the other hand, I picture Manning as President Bush in that flight suit - Mission Accomplished. He's made the game. I think he'll have a lot of trouble focusing on actually winning it.

My guess is Manning comes out in the first quarter and fires off several INT's. If the Bears can turn them into points, Grossman will have all the confidence he needs, and I don't see the Bears' defense withering the way the Pats did.

as good as the bears pass d is, i will give them more than 16.
they have one of the best running attacks too.
manning is much the same as rex, but with many more years experience.
but they are both looked upon the same by their respectie coaches.

give em a shot with the passing game in the first quarter, then run for 2nd and 3rd, then they are relaxed and calm enough to perform for the 4th with the passing game again.

either way great superbowl to come

I think its the Colts year after what they went through. They beat the Ravens at their place, then held off Tom Brady and New England in a very emotional come from behind win.

I think it will be close probably decided by less than 10 pts because of that fucking week off. I'm guessing both teams will be off rythmn because of that and it will be lower scoring than most people think.

The Bears cruised into the playoffs on the back of an easy schedule. They are so inconsistent. Urlacher -- their premiere player and America's great white hope -- is good but not great. I honestly don't see why they're there in the first place; this is not a superbowl team. Again they're good but not great.

Both Seattle and New Orleans did not do the things on defense that the other teams did to shut them down. People had figured out how to beat the Bears and it's like they just went retarded and did not study the tape.

Peyton Manning has got the Patriots-playoff thing off of his back. Now he has taken a step foward. With two weeks to practice, i'm sure that they wil be more than ready for Chicago.

Grossman has a lot to prove and has never been this far before. His inconsistency will show.

Colts by two touchdowns.

Going with the Colts(obviously) by at least 10 points. There just is no stopping Manning now(even though I've heard that before:icon_conf ...)
and the Bears' inconsistent offense won't be able to able to handle the Sanders lead D.

I cant stand people who dont know about a team but just make things up. I loved the Grossman comments 3-4 interceptions or he has bad more bad games than good or the Bears are weak down the strech---since the last month of the season the games meant nothing.
I like the Peyton Manning record in the playoffs
I like that people compare the Bears to the Ravens. The Ravens have 0 offense the defense help down Peyton Manning.
I love the fact that all these people are blowing the Bears off. Week after week everyone is better but week after week they are wrong. I am not arguing with mutants anymore.

oh wait, you mean call the game?

I don't think the Colts'll cover...this is going to be a much better game than people think. It all depends which Colts D shows up...if they can stop the run, I think they win 27-10. If they can't (which they won't) I think you could see Chicago 28-24

as for any Ravens arguements, Super Bowl XXXV never happened. It simply did not exist. Under no circumstances did Trent Dilfer actually beat my Giants. I'm still fucking fuming over that bullshit defensive holding call on Keith Hamilton that took away an INT for Jesse Armstead...

Yes, because it's still 1950 and he's the only white player in the NFL.
