FU to Easy solutions to a percieved problem

A big Fuck You to the Easy solution, and my being a dumbass for not trying it.


I spent the last 2 nights trying to diagnose a problem on my "winter beater" a 1991 mercury cougar.

The check engine light kept coming on and it was misfiring like a badass mofo. So me being a dumbass start replacing sensors and checking vaccum lines. Still running like shit. So I pull the intake and fuel rail and test all the injectors. Still running like shit. NOW IM PISSED OFF. So I replaced the cap/rotor. Still running like shit.

GODDAMNIT.


I go to replace the plug wires... HMMM THERES THE FUCKING PROBLEM one of the boots on the existing plug wires had wiggled itself loose, stick it back on and away goes the CEL and it runs like a new fucking car.



200 bucks and about 6 hours invested for a goddamn sparkplug boot that wiggled off.

Knew it was going to be something that easy when I read the first sentence. The worst part is, with something like this happens, you feel like a fucking waterhead.

HA! HA!, you do relize that the "wiggle" test is a real techincal term,. i cant tease too much im still having problems with my 98 durango
