Why do I have to tell you five or six fucking times WHO to follow up with before you'll leave my fucking office? Yet, when I do know something and try to correct your work, you tell me I'm wrong? Fuck you. You're the temp, not me. I may have only been here 2 years, but that's a fuck of a lot longer than your 2 months. And if you think we're hiring you full time, you're delusional.

Now I have to be a psychic, and know that she had a conversation with someone else, and that a check that's waiting for a second signature is actually a high priority & needs to be rushed through the signing process. Um, how about a note on the check that it's a "rush"? I really don't think I'm asking too much from someone that's supposedly done AP for years, even making it to Supervisor in another company. I guess it is true - people rise to the level of their incompetancy.

What part of, "I can't approve it because I don't have the support" do you not understand? I'm sure that someone else told you what contract to use because you don't have a fucking clue after 4 weeks of training and 8 weeks of fucking up, and of course their word is gospel. Stop second guessing me. I'm not going to approve a contract or a change order just because someone gave you that contract number to use. If I went back to them, they would agree with me. When I tell you what's missing, wrong, or just looks odd, go back to the source and get a FUCKING ANSWER. That's *your* job, not mine.

My job is to sit here and sign checks, and make sure you didn't fuck that up, too.

I've been following your thread and no, I don't. :)

The latest one...she needs to know if am I holding any checks, because can't find a check that was cut yesterday. 1. I don't hold checks. 2. I signed everything and passed it along to my boss for 2nd signature. This is obvious because the baskets of checks lined up on my floor at 5:00 yesterday are no longer there.

They're searching the baskets of checks in my boss's office and can't find it. I go in to help, they tell me what they're looking for, and I tell her, "It's in your in-box. You split the invoice wrong, so I voided it and it needs to be fixed." Of course, there it is, on her desk with the other voids.

2 more months of this. Just 2 more months.

So far today we have:

The temp can't find support for a check that was cut. She thought maybe it wasn't mailed, even though it was cut in January. Sorry, wrong answer...it cleared January 11th. Find it.

I'm working on our year end accruals, and I find an invoice for February 07 was booked to the December period. I'm about to lose my mind. I'm sure this isn't the only invoice I'm going to find like this. How can one person be so careless with their data entry? It's their JOB to enter this shit right.

Since I am doing accruals I may need to find the support to make sure things are right (see above). Checks that were mailed OVER a week ago still aren't filed. Since the 2005 files haven't been archived to make room for 2007, all she has to do is turn her chair around, and file them in a drawer in her desk.

If I could get OT for it, I would do her job. Unfortunately we're already dancing the line of controls since I'm one of two check signers and I'm covering the bank recs while someone else is out on maternity leave.

I don't even know where to begin today.

Nothing is filed where it should be. My boss & I were panicked because we received a shut off notice for the gas for one of the buildings. I think it's due to the billing fuck up of the company (the India-Indian on the phone was no help, and told me both yes it would be shut off, and no it wouldn't). A check went out yesterday (thank god I yelled at the temp a couple weeks ago to remember to stamp & date the check stub when mailed) and we'll send another out today just to be safe.

Yesterday she had to be reminded repeatedly to cut checks that she didn't do on Thursday knowing she wouldn't be in on Friday (the day the checks are due in the mail).

Checks are still being coded incorrectly.

The other accountant is back from maternity leave, but they don't want her doing AP. I told my boss I'd give it another check run or two, but if things don't improve I'm going to petition to get rid of the temp.

I didn't think anyone could be so careless and not give a crap. Just this morning she got spoken to about her work which I hoped would lead to her being more careful. So what happens today? I get the preview report for her check run. I give her corrections to make. I get the new preview report. 3 checks from the first report are missing from the second. WTF?

One thing I can't check is the vendor address. I give her the go-ahead to run checks, only to find that a batch of invoices I had to void because the vendor was wrong need to be voided again because she didn't fully correct the address. And I wrote specifically what the address should be.
