You people really are assholes. What exactly are you trying to accomplish ?? You have to pull pass the parking spot to back in. When someone is behine you, then they have to back up and in jams up the entire lane. Then most of you can't even back up straight and the car is all fucking crooked and you park to close to the next car and cause all sorts of issues for some innocent doche who you park next to.
And all this for what ???? To be able to pull out of a parking spot without backing up. I notice that it is usually men betweem 45-65, so maybe its a generation thing. I don't know, but one day, when I have no kids in my car with me, I am gonna smash you fucking windshield.

i think the key in your statement is the poeple that block others to do so.
i back my work van in every place i go and every spot i take.
because when i do so i can see what is in the spot before i pull into it and when i pull out.
otherwise i would have stupid people walk/run/bike behind the van as i am pulling out.
but i do not do the "block three cars" while trying to back in shit.
if i see a spot and there are cars infrontof/behind me, i wait till they pass or go to the next spot thats open. always.
i am not going to inconveniance someone else for my parking precautions.
i agree with the FU, with the amendment of "while blocking others"

ummmm well, all I can say is wait, or pass on the right or left and fuck em. That is what I do, when I am not backing in.

My company has a policy that we are to back in to parking spots if possible and/or to park in a way that does not require backing up at time of departure.

cause MEN can back into a parking space without hitting anything.
thats the only reason I do ... Just to make fun of my wife that can hit a pole on the other side of the lot while backing up.

For me, I don't think it's the generation thing as much as a having shit cars in my life thing. I like the engine to face out where the battery can be easily jumped. Pulling into a space makes that a little more difficult.
While I haven't had the total POS car in a few years, it's a habit now. I don't back in as much as I'll pull through if possible.
A windshield smash for that, huh? Damn.

This should be obvious, but here goes:
If you're backing into a parking spot you've got a better vantage point in terms of being able to watch for oncoming traffic, etc.
If you're backing out, your line of site is often blinded by vehicles parked next to you. So, you can't see shit until you're far enough out of the spot that your side windows are clear. By that point, you could have run something/someone over or backed right into another car.

Backing up doesn't really matter to me so i don't do it, but i will pull through if there are two spots open, not backing out is fun.
I can see if its a very busy street or required for work, but if its just a parking lot, there really is no need

And it is easier on the Transmission to go into foward.
Now, let's see if the author of this thread can learn something or be like most others.

The best point made was the guy who was concerned about jump starting his car. I never thought of that to be honest.
Force of habit, because you have to do it at work is fine.
So, yes, I did learn something. Most people are selfish assholes, who are too cool for the room and like to show off their superior driving skills, which they probably do not have anyway.
Just drive into spots people and we will all be happier for it

Are you another one of those people that believes in running your engine slightly low on oil because it's better for the engine?

Attack the post....not the poster.
Of course you have to back in to parallel park, you idiot.
In a parking lot, NO you do not need to back into a space to control your car better. If you cannot control your vehicle at all times, then you should not be driving ma'am.
This is a post about assholes who basically need to show the world they can drive their fucking car backwards, while holding up traffic in a parking lot.
Most parking lots have are crowded enough that you are following some jerkoff down the lane. He passes a fucking spot and he spots, bam reverse lights are on and asshole is backing into his spot.
Just drive into the spot, like any normal MAN and life is good.
As far as anger management, don't need it. I have WB FU Forum, that what it is here for douche bag.

I always back in
I usually do the same thing unless I can pull in to the adjacent space so when I'm done, I can comfortably leave in drive. It's alot more convenient after putting up with that fucking shopping. But, if it's not do-able, big deal; I know how to drive.

You hit the nail, right on the fucking head.
"I can comfortably leave"
"Its alot more convenient"
These are fine resons as long as you don't fuck everybody behind you, but there are too many people who don't give a shit about the next person and just back the car up and fuck everybody else.
I am sure you a very courteous gent.

What might be easier, which is something I do when I back into spots when I have the bikes on the back is to pull over by the spot to allow the car behind me to pass, this is provided the spot is on my left, or I'll signal before the spot for the guy behind to go around, then have a margin to move up to allow room if the spot is on my right. Unless it's a dirty LI housewife bitch, it's never a problem.

I back in my vehicle in all the time. First of all it is a easy get a way. Seccond you know who is arround you when you back in a spot instead of trying to back out into the isle with all the other crazy drivers whipping down the isle. Third it is a force of habit from driving a tractor trailer always park to just pull foward when leaving. Why be in a hurry anyway just wait?
