This is great news and its about damn time. Anytime I join a game in GoW with some annoying asshole (and they usually play together), I just leave. Now with Halo 3, you can bring up a list of all the players in a room and mute them by using the right analog stick. This is the perfect game for this because I'm guessing that the Halo games will draw the most annoying assholes. Luckily I've only ever played on the PC before.

I am loving how every thread turns into an anti-canada thread.

But to get back on topic this game is going to have to be amazing. Look how much attention this game it getting. There is a thread a year before the game comes out just talking about the fact that it is going to have a mute button.

It'll be interesting to see how Halo 3's mp stacks up against GoW's. GoW's mp is amazing, but could use some fine work, and if Halo 3 does that, so much for having a life

Meh, GoW's online is marginal. Now Lost Planet, there is a mp to look towards.

just a heads up... the ability to mute any player in ANY game is at your disposal already. Just look for mic activity from the annoyance, pull up their gamer card, and look for the mute option.

Fortunately, this is going to be in game instead of having to go through the dashboard...so it's a real timesaver.

And Halo 3 will be the new king of console multiplayer...the lobby and party system in Halo 2 are still what every other developer should be striving to achieve...

I played a couple deathmatch rounds for LP (demo) and felt it didn't come close. Although I've heard its a much better team-based game.

Without a doubt, the Halo 2 matchmaking system is perfect. Why they don't do this for every game is beyond me. I remember people bitched in the very beginning, myself included, because they did not understand it. The more familiar with it they got though the more they thought how great it was. Gears needs to do this.

Not just Gears, but every multiplayer game. The only ones that come close to it on the 360 are GRAW and PDZ...

Lost Planet is a boring ass game.

I found GoW single player to be great, but multi to be lacking. If it had the hide-and-shoot quality of the single player game that would be one thing, but the whole "run at each other and kill" style that everyone plays just killed it for me. Only eight players is pretty lame too.

I found Lost Planet's single player rather boring but the online multi to be fantastic. 16 players, fast action, large levels, 3-dimentional levels. The wrist cable alone made for a great game mechanic and I still can't figure out how they were able to add uber-powerful mechs and still keep the balance with players on foot. Team elimination with random levels and either random weapons or M.guns is my preference.
