I've installed the option, but when I right click on the desktop, "Play Dreamscene (Preview)" is greyed out.
Any ideas?

This is cool.Yeah, New graphics cards and vista are cool. I made a custom 3d logo with my company name on it. But I might have to upgrade to porn.

hopefully a site pops up with lots of mpegs to choose from...it won't recognize AVI files so my library is worthless

How much load is this putting on your CPU's I'm assuming its going to need a little bit of your cpu. I can't see how this thing doesn't suck up system resources.

Depends on the video, but using the demo one's on my laptop, it seems to average about 30% - 40%.
You can also pause it from the desktop pretty easy if you want to fire up someting resource intensive.

Ultimates useless to me, not worth it for a active desktop :P.

FYI: You don't even have to pause the background. When you hit the maximize button, it will automatically pause the dream. When you close that program or undo the maximize, the video will resume playing.
So far I've been running Ultimate over 2 weeks with no crashes and no problems. I'm not even sure if Vista can crash.

I've had a bunch of crashes at the begining mainly due to throwing every type of hardware and perepherial at it, but I've found the right set up for the vista box. It's an excellent web browsing box, and dreamscene is the only reason to own it.
Consider that before purchasing, folks.

FYI: Go into your vista audio mixer, in the system tray, and you can turn on audio for dreamscene. That is, if the video you are using has audio.

Why would someone want a moving background on their desktop? The desktop should use exactly NO system resources, not to mention moving backgrounds probably would give you a headache.

Why would someone want a moving background on their desktop? The desktop should use exactly NO system resources, not to mention moving backgrounds probably would give you a headache. It's none of the above. And why the fuck would you want system resources, if you are never going to use them? Why oh why? My animated background only takes up about 12 percent of my cpu. It looks cool. And if I really need resources, all I have to do is maximize my window and it will pause the dreamscene. While paused, my cpu usage goes back to 0-2 percent. Just like normal. Then when you restore your window, you background keeps going. It's people like you that were fine with cave drawings. Get over it. This is the 21st century.
