my mom just gave me a fairly highend ipaq, any one have some cool toys or neat programs to recomend? i have an older one that runs CE the new one runs pocket pc, im having trouble getting used to it, i realy want it to run media both video and audio. the new one has built in wi fi and blue tooth. i have a GPS antena for it and like that part (thats why my mom bought it but she could never get it to work, i have gps on my old one too just not blue tooth or wi fi makeing it relitivly useless to me)

i dont know im kind of rambling, i realy want to use this thing but i just dont know what to do with it, programs ect,,, to make it easyer to use.
another thing that kills me is if the battery totaly dies the fucking thing looses its mind and i have to re load all the fucking programs

I've got an older Ipaq 4155 (bluetooth, wifi, sd), has Windows Mobile 2003. For files that won't play in the Windows Media player, I have TCPMP (The Core Media Player) - used to be Beta Player. Plays divx, etc.

Also use a program called Hitchhiker to manage wireless connections.
Mort Player for MP3 - has a car mode display - buttons easy to hit with a finger.

Picked up an extended battery on a closeout for $15 not to long ago. Until I got my Inno, I was using it as my MP3 player in the car with a 1gig card. Haven't used it too much recently, though I can get a few movies on the card using a paid program called Pocket DVD Wizard. Great for flying.

hopefully yours has a backup system where you can store your handhelds data to an external memory card(not all do, even if they can support the memory card), and can restore the databases in the event of a crash, or battery death

As far as applications and such, www.handango.com has many programs that you can find for just about every format that handhelds use. some are free, some have a trial, some you need to buy. depending on what exactly you use it for(i use it for pharmaceutical databases) theres most likely something you will find there.

I have an Ipaq its a few years old, but since I've moved up to carrying a Treo 700w I only use the ipaq as a gps, since I got the navigation package for it back in the day.
