It'll be on the 360, PS2 and PS3.

I don't think it is being ported to the ps2. I have only heard of the 360 and ps3, they aren't even taking this one to the wii since it doesn't have enough power for the game.

its def coming to ps2 and psp... of course it will be dumbed down graphically
but yes it is definitely a ps2 title also

I just read in Game Informer that another company is making the PS2 and PSP versions, they will keep the same story but be different games. They also said that the Wii version isn't ruled out yet.

As of right now it is unknown what will differ besides graphic... all versions will be lucasarts games... the psp, ps2, and ds versions are being outsourced to krome with lucasarts advising and approaving everything, while ps3 and xbox 360 are being done by lucasarts exclusively

In the new GI, the developer said the Wii could not handle the game as they were making it for next gen in every catagory, graphics, processing, etc. If the Wii is getting a different version, than the PS2 and PSP will too.
This will not be the "swinging lightsabre" game Wii fans want. Lucasarts said in the same article that there still isn't one in developement (at least that they will admit, so don't count it out complely)
This game looks like it's going to be great. Force blasting, dark side goodness.

I seriously can't fucking wait... my bro has a 360 and I might buy one if I decide that a PS3 isnt worth it, right now it isnt to me but I might need to pick one up eventually.
I could always upgrade my pc and just get it for that.
As for the Wii, does anyone remember the star wars trilogy arcade game?
That would be perfect for the Wii, there was 3 stages with a first person lightsaber view, and 3 flying stages.. using the wiimote for everything would be great.

jedi academy was a great game, I also like jedi knight 2 ( I think it was called JK2-outkast)
force pushing stormtroopers of chasms and pushing their thermal detonators back at them was fun as hell

Did you go into first person mode in Jedi Academy???? I think I had that for the XBOX.
If that's the one, coolest weapon ever. Forget what it was called, but if you let it charge up before the shot, it disintergrates your enemies.

you can switch from first to third... I would use guns as first and ligthsabers as third.
And yes the disintegrators where fucking awesome

Game looks amazing. I was a huge KOTOR and KOTOR2 fan, I really can't wait to get my hands on a well sorted jedi game. There's so much that the Star Wars Universe can still offer to gaming, in fact many people agree that KOTOR and KOTOR2 are way better than the movie "prequels" in terms of storyline.

Was just checking this game out and so I figured I would revive the thread. If anyone hasn't seen it, the trailer for the game can be found on lucasarts.com (http://www.lucasarts.com/games/theforceunleashed/#). Game looks really sweet and definetely falls in line with the other great jedi games like kotr and academy.
Just reading through the website it goes through 2 new technologies that Lucasarts are developing for the game. One is DMM which they explain as:
DMM causes it to react in the same way dictated by reality. For example, unlike what you'd see in games of the previous generation, wood doesn't simply break apart along a predetermined seam every time -- rather, it splinters into countless pieces from the exact point of impact, also taking into account the amount of sheer force exerted. The same rules apply to any substance imaginable: Rubber bends and snaps back into place. Glass shatters. Crystal fractures. Stone crumbles. Carbonite (yes, the very alloy that encased Han Solo) dents.
Then there is Eurphoria which sounds really interesting as far as gameplay goes they explain it as:
What is euphoria? A revolutionary behavioral-simulation engine, euphoria simulates the unpredictability of real life where no two experiences are ever the same. For the first time ever, euphoria enables interactive characters to move, act and even think like actual human beings, adapting their behavior on the fly and resulting in a different payoff every single time.
How does it benefit The Force Unleashed? Imagine a simple Force push aimed at stormtroopers on a narrow bridge. With euphoria in action, characters visibly attempt to balance themselves: Their feet stumble, their arms flail, and their hands reach for security as the force exuded toward them threatens to send them plummeting to their doom. Perhaps they all survive. Perhaps they all fall. The use of euphoria means the action isn't scripted -- it's simulated -- so you'll never be able to predict exactly what will happen, no matter how many times you've experienced a certain scenario.
I am curious though that if he is the secret apprentice of Vader then why in all of the clips is he fighting stormtroopers? Is he so secret that not even the empire knows about him and he has to go through them to get things done? Will be interesting to find out.
It looks good, but man, fuck Lucas for trying to ruin it from the beginning. "Make sure it has a comic sidekick!"
NO, George.

I'm really looking forward to this game. If you guys want to have some fun, there is tons of whinning going on over at the lucas arts forums from the star wars geeks about everything from "Force Continuity" to how Lucas Arts is slapping PC players in the face about not releasing it on PC.
