Just over my eye Ive been getting these extremely intense 1-3 minute bursts of excrusiating headaches usually once a day at random times. It hurts so bad it cripples you for the duration. It happens with no warning and no regularity at all. Nothing to do with working, sleeping, walking or sitting. Just all of a sudden BAM, there it is. It started about a 1 - 1 1/2 years ago as a once in a great while thing. I went to the Dr and now I'm on a bllod pressure lowerig med (my blood pressure is fine according to her and my records show Ive never had any isses with that) and an anti-inflamitory (just incase that part of brain is swelling?). I have to wait till monday to find out when my MRI is gonna be scheduled. Now Im real nervous and dont know what to do with myself. Ive got my second son on the way at the end of april and dont need this kinda shit going on. Im freaking out.

my dad was getting them years ago, he went to so many different doctors you would not belive it. one doctor told him that they are not sure why people get them and the only thing to do is clear your mind by going on vaction. it worked he didnt get them for bout 10 years or so

Kinda odd you say that cause i did mention to my Dr that when I was smoking for like 2 months over the summer i never had the problem. before and after i did. she said its verypossible that weed makes that part of the brain relax or dialate so the problem would submit. MA doesnt have medical mary jane so until that happens im sticking with the other attempts.

i get them from time to time, and they definitely suck, see if your doc can give you some ativan or xanax, the relief of anxiety is usually enough to help the headache subside

***UPDATE***
So last Monday (Feb 26) I went to the ER because I was having a bad reaction to the meds I was taking. I get EKGs, CAT Scan and a spinal tap. Well all is negative so 20 minutes after the spinal tap they release me. I try to stand up and cant. They say its normal and will be able to in a couple days. So I go back there the following Thursday (Mar 1) with extreme headaches and back pain still. They (after 4 hours) remind me that I was supposed to lay down for 1-4 hours after the tap. Well thats not possible seeing as though they sent me out 20 minutes after it was originally performed. Anyways I finally get an appt with a nureologist today and he says, "Ohh you must have a leak in the hole they made to check your spinal fluid. You need a blood patch." So in a matter of 2 hours im home and after the very painfull blood patch procedure that consists of taking 20 ml of blood from my arm and injecting it into my spine so the blood will clot in the hole made by the spinal tap Im feeling better already. I still have a 50/50 headache but at this time yesterday I would have had to be loaded with vicodon and valium to get it to calm down and laying down for 3-4 hours. Now that this seems to be solved (so far, we'll see how I feel tomorrow) if we could just get rid of these cluster headaches whcih the Dr seems to think that they are becoming chronic cluster headaches and apparrently the vicodin can help them become more common. What a surprise. The only thing (so far, only tried 3 things so far) that dulls them can actually make them happen more often. FU to my luck lately.

my fucking wife gets these and although the insurance pays for the hospital bills, the fucking $60 copays and constant week long stays in the hospital with me having to take off work are fucking killing me. I'm telling you sometimes I think pussy is not worth it. DONT SMOKE, or take OTC diet pills.
