Leapfish.com has wackbag valued at $152,945.00

i would be led to believe leapfish's price quote before dnscoop's
they're more accurate as to what my personal page would be worth

plus the other one that no has mentioned yet is worth $924
That one i dont believe because they've gotten millions of dollars worth of plugs on national radio that isn't possible to include in that estimate

sir that goes without saying, my basic point was to give another place to find domain prices as well as say that i felt dnscoop underrated all sites associated with the show because they're not able to take into consideration the kind of exposure they're getting. :action-sm

Absolutely
02-25-2007, 03:40 AM
according to Leapfish, rhymes with pulltownglades is at $924.00 that seems wrong.
SFN is at $179,676.00
ronfez.net $213,378.00
howardstern.com $6,624.00
opieandanthony.com $403,125.00

these don't seem right

from what they're basing their estimate on it may be perfectly accurate, however different sites shine in different ways.

Myspace is worth tons of money because of its traffic, links from othre pages, and largely due to its name being in news stories.

i really doubt that wackbag has been in many news stories but its been said on the radio millions of times and recieved its traffic from that.

The only way to get an accurate value of a site is to sit back over a year or more's time and look at revenue generated vs. potential revenue generated.

I could own youtube tomorrow and if i did away with all the ads it may still be one of the worlds most visited sites but all ad revenue is lost so the site would only be worth potential revenue rather than generated revenue.

You cant trust sites that claim to give the value of a site because they're not able to have a live person sit back and look at every aspect of publicity or revenue. Even Alexa.com is highly inaccurate but its wrong consistently so its a way to compare rather than state facts.

Alexa.com has wackbag.com ranked as the 9,619th most visited site in the united states. Thats not accurate because their ranking system is based on the alexa toolbar. Alexa assumes that 1 out of 10 on the internet is using that software so if 1 person with the toolbar visits wackbag it counts as 10 hits for alexa ranking purposes. Everyone should know that theres no way 10% of people on the internet (not just america but the entire world) uses their software otherwise they would have traffic that would beat yahoo, google, and msn by about 1000% since everytime you go to a site with that bar it generates a server connection for alexa and in turn could count as a hit.

dnscoop.com openly confirms that their value is based on the following:
This value is calculated based on several factors shown above, including: Links, Traffic (Alexa), age of the domain, site category, domain keyword popularity, and overall occurences of the domain name on the web.

That is simply no where near enough factors to judge a value on for anything other than entertainment or discussion. Leapfish uses a different set of credentials that i haven't read which renders its value also useless for anything other than entertainment of discussion. Since we're using it for discussion and i dont think anyone is getting out a checkbook to buy a site based on the projected value the site has done its job and done it well.

Forget the potential for add revenue for a moment, imagine if you added together all the pennies from the posters that had to add their 2 cents to every thread.

I did the math. But it's not accurate because it would require every member to post at least once in every thread.
But if they did, it would be $1,203,641,128.44

They do/did have a billboard on track at Las Vegas......and they sponsored a stocker (not NASCAR) at Talladega a few years ago.
That site is 20 times better than nascar.com....actually now that nascar.com has morphed into old Foundry...it's 40 times better.

the company I work for is $14,883,000. The domain has been registered for 20 years though. Probably not worth all that much because there's not a lot of weblinks directly to the site though it's certainly in the news regularly. In fact, I'd bet most of the people on this board do business with it. ;)
