The news definitely legit. Multiple sources reporting.
It's a pretty huge announcement. Basically, it allows unsigned code to run on a 360 of a certain kernel.
Meaning, homebrew software apps, linux or OSX running on a 360 isn't a pipedream anymore.
Meaning, it could very well get possible to play pc games on a 360, too heh. If you've ever thrown windows 98 on an old xbox1, you know how sick it really gets.
Development on it is slow though, and it's not the average mod endeavor for the weekend hobbyist. (To say the LEAST.)
The stuff used to bypass the 360's efuse, is high high technology. :p
And in all reality, we're probably a year away from this information being worth a damn for the average end user to get any benefit from it.
