Heres what I dont understand. Its not like I suddenly have an extra hour of light today. Today is going to be light for about a whole minute longer than yesterday. For the next 10 days, no matter what anyone does, it will still be light for less of the day than its dark.

the theroy is that we profit from using less electricty for lighting, that's why it was done back during the war, most large factorys were lit by daylight, many had huge skylights. not to mention that lots of artifical light was bad because of the black out conditons that many costal towns were in because of the feer of german attack

thats the rationale for it nowadays, originally it was implemented because the early rising of the sun in the summer was not being taken advantage of, so they decided to tac the hour to the end of the day instead. here's an interesting fact, although it was ben franklin who originally came up with the idea
The idea was first advocated seriously by London builder William Willett (1857-1915) in the pamphlet, "Waste of Daylight" (1907), that proposed advancing clocks 20 minutes on each of four Sundays in April, and retarding them by the same amount on four Sundays in September. and they actually implemented it for a period of time, suffice to say that didnt work out

Daylight savings bullshit killed me....last night i already had to goto bed 4 hours earlier than the previous night and the daylight savings fucked me out of another hour...so i wasn't able to sleep until like 5 AM anyway. :icon_evil
