sleet is a mixture of snow and rain. It happens when the temperature is a little bit above freezing.

Snowed Thursday night into Friday and snowed right through about 3PM or so. Right now it's just freezing rain. Got about 6 inches of snow. It started with freezing rain Thursday evening, and it hasn't stopped PRECIPITATINGGGGGGG since then.

I cleared out driveway 2x yesterday, last time was after 7PM. Now, I got 2" or so of packed ice shit that I can stand on and it doesn't even crack.
Luckily, it seems to be starting to melt. Gotta get a few vehicles out of the driveway before I can try and get out there to plow the driveway again.

I shoveled at about 4 yesterday, and had a sheet of sleet ice over my driveway with drifts. I had to be out of here at 9 this morning... couldn't do a damn thing with the ice so I brought out the jeep on top of it. Beat aroung in the back trying to break stuff up, and got nowhere. Joy. So I went to back up the driveway a little fast & lose the front end over a 2 foot stone wall. Almost put my nose through my neighbor's car. I'm a fucking cowboy idiot in the snow. No damage... at least I'm still a lucky idiot.
Right now I'm taking a break from chopping this stuff and shoveling slushy snow. The steepest part of my drive is still frozen since there's no sun. Bout 2 to 3 inches thick. My roomate's Kia sportage couldn't get out at all this morning. Piece of shit got stuck in the slush - in 4 'low'!
I'd rather have a foot of regular snow than this ice/slush crap. No better feeling to have all 4 wheels spinning as you carren out of your driveway.

I got 1/2 of our driveway clear. I got vehicles parked in the clear area while I let the sun do its work on the rest that is frozen solid. Then I should be able to go plow the rest of it.
im so glad im done with that weather for the year....

Haha. It is around 90 here and Vegas gets less than 4" of rain in a year. So I guess my answer is none right now. ;)

In the ice this morning, absolutley right. But I would have been able to get alot of the snow/slush out one the sun hit it.. would have worked the thing hard, but better that then my back.
