My Rottie had puppies today. She had 2 at 430am, 1 at 630am and 3 at 1pm. She accidently smothered one of them at 1pm. She HATES them and won't go near them. She acts like she is afraid of them. I have been attempting to bottle feed them with some success, but not alot. Anyone have any experience with this?

You need to find an experienced breeder to help you or you're gonna have a bunch of dead puppies real fast. Look up your local Rottweiler rescue group and they should be able to help you.

Was your dog young? Usually puppy rejection comes when the mother dog is young herself...Anywho if you can't get your dog to feed the pups you can buy puppy formula and you have to feed them 8x a day around the clock for the first 6-8 weeks until you can get them on food...Call a vet, the vet will prob help you with what to do..

awww, thats so sad. :( your best bet for the moment is probably to wait until she falls asleep and then just stick them on there. but youre most likely going to have to buy lots of formula, puppies need to eat numerous times a day

Step 1. find a burlap bag and 3 bricks and small amount of twine
Step 2. Ans puppies and brinks into bag tie tightly and close bag with rope
Step 3. Take bag and swing into you least favorite person a few times ( might me right now) to mix content throughly
Step 4. Discard bag in nearest river or sewer.....


Hey somebody was gonna suggest it...And for state of fact I would never do that...

I called the vet and brought them there. They said they were healthy and I needed to feed them every 3-4 hours, which I have been doing. The mother wants nothing to do with them, in fact she tried to bite one and was growling at it. I had to pull it out of it's mouth.
I posted on wackbag cuz it seems everyone does when they have a problem.

do yourself a favor and get the dog spayed when it has recovered from the birth...Some animals shouldn't be allowed to breed...But at least they have Al sharpton on their side...

obviously..she was a new mother..spend a few hours a day with the puppies and the mom...in a space you can control...if you do it right...mom will hopefully accept the pups...

Puerto Rican Dog. Drop the dogs off at the local chinese resturant they will get rid of them.

Yes, they are pure bred rotties. Both parents are AKC registered. The mother still hates them. I don't know how much longer I can stand not sleeping and I have been out of work for 2 days now. The mother is 6. This is her first litter, and her last.
