ooOOoo - the 'Server is Too Busy' feature finally works!!! That is suposed to pop up when the server load reaches a pre-defined limit. I have been running some jobs in the background to raise the load a bunch, to see if it works - which it apparently does. I will ease off on that stuff, so it does not go down.

Ok, I noted that posting is slow as well. When the submit command is sent, there's generally 10 or more seconds before something happens. This may coincide with the server too busy command, but it was coming up when Iwas trying to access this thread and not during the posting.

The glitch I saw was after submitting and seeing the loading indicator going for a while, I opened a new tab and saw my post came up over half a dozen times, then tried accessing this post through that tab, but the server was too busy, went back to the index and all was good, back to this, server too busy.

Right now it is at a .33 with 497 members :)

The board will automatically shut off when the load reaches a 5 (at least that's what I am testing with now). There is no difinitive answer as to how many people can be logged in before it goes out. The reason being is that it depends on what activity they are doing. IE: We should be able to handle another "cyclopse kitten" - but I think the board will start acting all funky if there is another "Opie/Jimmy" fight.

slow to post sometimes this morning.. didn't get any error msgs. when posting or refreshing. I had several pages & apps open this morning as well & my ISP sucks, so I would have written it off to that if any slower.

works fine for me. I'm used to using a a corp. slab for a laptop.. I'm not much of a judge. Still have yet to punish this new HP properly. :)

You might want to clear all your cookies - especially if you used the skin-chooser on the bottom of the page to change your skin. If you have it set in your userCP, clearing the cookies should fix it for you.

I get that alot when I use IE. Doesn't seem to be a problem with Firefox.

Not at all...

It could be that your ISP is doing some funky routing, or that one or more of their DNS servers have not received the new IPs for the board yet. If that is the case, then it might be another week or so before it stops happening to you.

Still having this problem here on my home pc and I have ran every virus scan I have, plus run updates on explorer.

Also the last 2 days I haven't been able to get on WB at all. It will just slowly load until it times out. It is not a firewall or any site blocking software because it is my computer and my company. :fight6:

Solved this problem by dumping crappy explorer and downloading fire-fox. Still cannot access WB at all from my office PC's at work though. Like I said it isn't a firewall or any type of website blocking because it is my company and computers and only I touch them. Any ideas what it could be?

you don't have any content filtering on the firewall at work do you? also - 2 weeks ago, the server firewall went haywire, and it was banning IPs left and right, just for browsing the site. I fixed that, but your work IP might be banned still. PM that to me, and I will check the firewall.

I am still getting the timeouts when loading a page, either after making a post, or while clicking on a thread-title to bring up the thread. If you click on this button, https://www.wackbag.com/images_black/editor/media.gif it adds the media tags.
This one, https://www.wackbag.com/images_black/editor/createlink.gif will add the url tags.

The link you have just may not work with the media tags.

2 things, not sure if they've been covered since I've only read a couple pages of this thread.

First - once or twice I've gotten a message about an unidentified security certificate or something like that. Not too concerned about it, just not sure why I got the message.

Second - 4 or 5 days ago, threads stopped being marked read after I click on them, I have to use the forum tools button thingy now instead of just reading threads. Any idea what's causing that?

Every once in a while I have the same problem. If I close the browser and
empty the browser cache it works fine again.

When I log in half the time it won't log in, and when it lets me it just gives me error messages.

I don't know why someone would cripple my account, but it would be nice if you would fix it so I could read the forum.

I'm sure nobody messed with your old account. Your old account only had 6 posts so your new ones half way there...Just check the remember me box when you next log in so logging in will be easier for you in the future

Once in a while, It will show that there is another page, Like if you click to goto the last page, and it brings up page 107, but shows a page 108. You click on 108 and it takes you back to 107. I even tried to type it in the address bar and it still went back to 107.

you're probably getting those around the times when the board is being backed up.

That's just a certificate error, because I used a self-signed certificate for the board, rather than one from GoDaddy or Verisign, etc.
