Saw this story on CNN pretty funny
SEATTLE, April 5 (UPI) -- A house in Seattle was gutted after a hoaxer placed an ad on the Web site Craigslist inviting the public to take whatever they wanted for free.
Laurie Raye told KING-TV in Seattle she was alerted by neighbors to what was happening in the house that had been her mother's.
"In the ad, it said come and take what you want. Everything is free," said Raye. "Please help yourself to anything on the property."
Raye told the television station that strangers removed light fixtures, the kitchen sink and the water heater. She said the inside of the house was covered in graffiti and trash was dumped in the yard.
Police are trying to determine who placed the ad. Craigslist told Raye that the information is available only with a subpoena.
Raye had recently evicted a tenant from the house, KING-TV said.

i was thinking the same thing, if the old tennant was evicted i would bet that the place was a dump and the owner didnt want to have to pay to have it fixed, its a great scam if they get away with it

They'd find you anyway. Surveillance tapes from the library. The best bet would be to use stolen WiFi. I bet they catch the guy.

If done that way it's like the perfect crime.
I'd buy a brand new, cheap laptop with WiFi built in, then search around for an signal in front of houses or even in a coffee shop or some shit where there's really no cameras or action to speak of.
Post the ad and throw the fucking laptop in the trash once I was sure I got the desired effect.
Nice.

Very true, I was just being "Over the top" guy.
Actually if I was TRULY being "Over the top" guy, I should have said "Buy a Laptop, use it to place the ad and then beat a hooker to death with it!"
Wacka wacka.

I saw this story on the news today and the report was that the persons evicted from the house prior to the craigslist ass ****** ad were family members of the owner of the house. The report stated that the possibility exists that the family members were pissed about being kicked out and placed the craigslist ad. Story developing...
