Halloween (Original) V. Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Original)
There was a Halloween remake? The Chainsaw remake didn't really do anything for me personally.

I LOVED Halloween the first time I saw it, very, very creepy and scary. Chainsaw was good, but I don't think it can rival Halloween.

Both very good horror movies that, unfortunately, spawned a BUNCH of shitty sequels, remakes, and knock offs.

TCM the original wins in this one. Ill be seeing the Rob Zombie version though...I like what he's put out so far.

Halloween scared the living shit out of me as a kid. TCM seemed like a movie to me.

Still thinking about Michael Myers walking throught the neighborhood gives me the creeps. I have not seen either in years and wonder how they stood the test of time.

The first Friday the 13th was really good too.

Halloween for me , by a slight margin , and only because Tobe Hooper is a hack who unwittingly made a great movie.

I think they're a bit different. TCM isn't much of a "slasher" flick as some would think. It is very psychological and works on disturbing the shit out of you. But Holloween is just overall creepy and better acting. Both are fucking great and classics, but I'll go with Holloween. Although TCM's "remake" featured a very hot Biel.

i'm a Halloween fanatic, probably the biggest one here. my vote would totally (pun not intended) go to Halloween, but i have yet to see the original TCM.

Agreed.
This is going to take a long time to make a decision.

What's scarier:

crazy ass, murderous hicks who love human flesh

or a psychotic little boy, who now has become "pure evil"????

I fucking hate slashers, they're hack horrow. Although at the time Halloween came out, it was new. But still, fuck Halloween for spawning that bullshit of a subgenre.

A super powerful silent killer randomly popping up like it's a fucking bugs bunny cartoon. I love how they have all the doors locked and it still gets in. Or everyone hides in a house and it just so happens that the killer is in THAT house.

Oh yeah, and nice budget, deek. A guy in a mask in a generic house.

The original Texas Chainsaw was garbage. Absolutely awful. The last 20 minutes was just that bitch screaming. Ugh. Now on the other hand I really enjoyed the Jessica Biel remake.

Halloween was the first and only movie that made me yell in a crowded movie theatre. that shit was good, all the little BOO moments, I felt like a moron but everyone else was jumping too.

Halloween was fucking great. I was 7 years old when it came out. It's a true classic.
