Dont you fuckers see what is going on here? They are playing a good cop, bad game game. One side is somewhat neutral the other more provocative one is saying like like "should O&A be fired?".

"Should the government restrict XM?"

Of course whats what those lackey douches wants. Fucking morons all of you are.

The government started to help back when the "Parental Advisory" labels were added to albums... it must be just me but I don't know many kids running around with their own personal XM/Sirius radios... it's more of an adult product to begin with. What is to stop a kid from downloading a Pod cast that is far worse then what O&A said? Or an MP3? Where does entertainment censorship end? At least XM made an effort from very early on to have a parental control.

Not going to happen because that would require the government to then regulate other pay services such as what is shown on cable and in movies... they can slap all the warnings they want on the private entertainment industry but it would be a long war for them to control what is aired.

Which would immediately make O&A and Howard endangered species... both shows despite what we all may think of Hoo Hoo are the heavy hitters for XM and Sirius... the companies may not always market the two as their stars but if they are honest with themselves not many people are buying XM or Sirius for Oprah or Martha Stewart. The actions taken by XM today on their website and through the apology shows they support O&A even if only by the fact that they NEED their show on their product. The same goes for Sirius and Stern.. financially the two companies NEED their two "shock jock" shows to succeed.

That's why I'm happy that Bubba's getting lumped in with them sometimes. Howard, who is scum for not already sticking up for Imus and O&A, might finally have to speak up on all this nonsense.

And while he'll definitely use the podium for self-promotion and take pot shots at the boys while defending their right to say what they said, he'll also be the guy the media will line up to talk to and be afraid to confront too vociferiously.

Exactly, Howard has said and done stuff just as bad and degrading to women on Sirius so if things get out of hand he will be forced to speak up as well. Despite what I think about him, anyone who is going to make an attempt at censoring or monitoring sat. radio has a HUGE hill to climb with Howard Stern involved and his fat contract. There is no way Sirius or a combined XM/Sirius would eat even a $50 mill. contract.

You are right...its not like the government NEVER gets what it wants.

Look how much 'freedoms' we lost since 2001.

This story is getting hyped specially on Fox for a reason. They are going to use this to restrict content even further. They already apologized but they keep putting in their headlines, 'SHOULD THE GOVERNMENT REGULATE XM?" to all those sheep.

All of those freedoms fall under national security. Big difference. There have been members of Congress and even First Ladies and VP wives crying for censorship on entertainment for years. Despite how hard these battles have been fought the worst thing that has happened is we now have Parental Warnings on albums, movies, tv shows, etc. The question can be asked a million different ways about the government regulating XM and Sirius but a serious debate and political battle must take place before anything can and will happen. The Federal Government does have its limitations when it comes to the private sector. Quit with the paranoia.. the sky isn't falling. If this story or issue takes off there will be plenty of time for both sides to give their point of view and for we as the people that elect our representatives to have our say as well.

Actually they're doing the exact opposite. They're worried that Sean and Rush are next and nipping it in the bud.

And it's probably best NOT to be all gung-ho for O&A on every show across the board. There are lots of Fox News viewers that will never care enough about Opie and Anthony to bother learning the real facts of the story and want to hear newspeople who are obviously offended by those statements.

But at the same time even the worst of them (Gibson) wrap their analysis with defending O&A's right to say it, rather than calling for their ouster. In fact, the only person on Fox that I'm sure has said they should be fired is Mancow... and he got buried for it.

How the fuck do you know they are worried?

Why would Sean who is a spineless puppet for this administration worry when his whole job is just to parror the party line. Same goes for Rush who could have gone to jail for smuggling ass pills, but because the court was in Florida (Jeb hint) he was let go.

You are a delusional tool that thinks "conservatives" are there for you. They are just actors playing by the script given to them. None of them ever has an original opinion.

Only political talk shows of the left or right will survive. No, big independent shows like O&A will exist because anytime they say anything about any of those left or right gangsters they will get this kind of shit treatment.

I don't trust liberals or conservatives. But I listen to a lot of talk shows on all sides of the spectrum and Rush and Sean have been paranoid ever since Imus.

And Rush didn't go to jail because of the ACLU... which I'm a card carrying member of (in my wallet next to my NRA membership card. The first two Amendments are the most important).

Nice try though.

I can't believe I am doing this....

I never stick up for this Rep Tool or any of those right-wingnuts, but Hannity made it a point last night to say that this is niether left nor right nor a politcal issue. Its a free speech issue.
He said "Condi" is a friend and he thinks the comments made on O&A were deplorable, yet they should never be restricted from saying things of that nature.

Now excuse me while I go take a toaster bath for sticking up for Sean Hannity... Blech

The issue is not Hannity or whatever talking head they have their. Its their owners at Fox that give them topics they can or can't talk about.

Also who makes up those headlines about "should the government regulate XM/should O&A be fired?". Its not some nameless intern, its all the way from the top. They own Fox they decide whatever shit they want on it.
And they made it their mission to spearhead this campaign against O&A but mostly our freedom.

They need to cool it immediately.

Because they have their own radio network where (big surprise) John Gibson and Bill O'Reilly each have shows. Sean Hannity who actually supports the boys is on ABC, not Fox radio.

Fox does some good, and they do some bad. In the bad column is a take no prisoners approach to using their outlets to take down competitors.
