I am *extremely* displeased with Paula Zahn's deliberate misrepresentation of the facts surrounding the Opie & Anthony XM controversy. The clip she played was taken completely out of context (quite important, don't you think?). Furthermore, she made no effort to identify *who* was saying *what* during the controversial sketch. This has surely led viewers to believe that the most offensive comments were actually made by Opie and/or Anthony, when in fact they were made by their guest (a homeless man named Charlie), while he was on a comedy rant about a much larger group of individuals.

A small detail? I don't think so in this case. Please have a serious chat with Ms. Zahn and ask her to review all the facts of each story before she reports them to millions of viewers. An incomplete representation of the facts will cause viewers like myself to lose all respect and trust in your news organization.

I am very angered at the way your show has covered the Opie and Anthony situation. You work for a corporation that represents itself as "Fair and Balanced" yet your coverage was none of those. If you are going to have "The No Spin Zone," then please report on the facts and stop trying to sensationalize stories by misleading your audience. You played selective audio clips completely out of context and failed to explain who was saying what. Most of the outrageous statements were being made by a homeless gentleman, not by Opie and Anthony. The laughter heard during that segment was at the ridiculousness of the mans comments, not at the acts he was describing.
I will admit this is low-brow humor, but remember this was on a pay service, XM Satellite Radio, not free public airwaves. There no is difference between listening to either satellite networks uncensored networks and going to a comedy club, play, or movie. We, the consumers, are choosing to pay for that form of entertainment. Just because you find it offensive and crude does not give you the right to try and deny me from enjoying it. That is what our First Amendment is all about.
It is well known that you are not a fan of Opie and Anthony or the type of show that they do but, to bring in Eric "Mancow" Mueller is both irresponsible and inflammatory. Mancow has had a beef with O and A for many years and for many different reasons. All he does is scream about them being "bad people and liberals." He could not be more wrong. Anthony is registered Republican and very conservative while Opie is much more middle of the road. Sure they have said some awful things but what performers haven't. Even Mancow has said and done some horrific things in his past yet you don't call him on those. Come on Bill, have some integrity, were is the "Fair and Balanced?" Or is that something you reserve for people you agree with?

I said that I was appalled that people like Bill O'Reilly had the gall to call the comments on the Opie & Anthony Show "worse than pornography," when their show airs on an exclusive, pay-to-listen satellite service, and that nobody was forcing anyone to hear them. Nobody could have heard them "on accident," because XM provides parents with content blocks to keep objectionable content away from their children. I added that the only reason so many people had actually heard the comments was because people like O'Reilly and FOX kept re-airing them, and that the only reason O'Reilly was so outraged was because the comments were directed at republicans.

Here is where all of the cable news networks and most local news channels that have covered this "controversy" are knee-deep in hypocrisy.

After the Virginia Tech shooting, as I'm sure everybody is aware, NBC received a package from the shooter that he mailed during his killing spree. It contained pictures of him aiming a gun at camera and whatnot and his rambling manifesto.
Keeping in mind that he assassinated 30 people, all of these a-holes decide to air the pictures of this guy posing with his pistols, read the transcript of his ramblings and even play the audio of this psycho. In short, they gave this guy exactly what he wanted and they did it all for ratings and gave no thought about the families of the victims. If you were a parent of one of these kids that was shot dead, would you want to turn on the news and see a picture of this guy with his guns and hear his manifesto about why he did it?
The worst was Fox.....I remember they had the picture of the killer pointing the gun at the camera on the home page of their website. Again, how would you like to have had your college kid murdered and see that?

So that's ok, but a-holes like Geraldo and O'Reilly are outraged over the broadcast of the ramblings of a homeless guy and think that the show should be dropped because of it.
