Some people seem to be very pessimistic about this situation (understandably so), and some people think this could wind up being a good thing (understandably so). What do you think?
Edit: Crap, forgot an "absolutely nothing" option.

The Stern fans think it's all a big conspiracy to blow up the merger. I like that one.

there is no such thing as a Free-FM suspension.. they may announce a suspension, but it would turn into a firing by the end of the week. The only time ive seen an actual suspension on radio was Dennis and Callihan a couple years back on WEEI in Boston (AM sports). For comparing a Met-Co Student to a gorilla escaped from the zoo.

At least this time, CBS came out and actually supported O&A (insofar as saying they would not be removed). I don't think they ever said the same thing about Imus a few weeks back. With Imus, it was they apologized ->suspended him-> fired him.
Now CBS would have to make a complete about-face and go from supporting the show, to firing them.
XM did throw them completely under the bus.

A restriction on having homeless lunatics in the studio.

Restrictions...that will lax over time...I think O&A would gladly take some restrictions that they know will dissipate over time in order to keep their gigs.

Merger will be denied. Not because of this, but because it's a dumb idea.
Because of this, NOTHING will happen to O&A except a good talking-to. XM can't afford to kill one of their major draws when it's highly likely that they'll be competing with Sirius again, not merging with them.

That's insane. What a bunch of morons. There are so many reasons why the merger should not take place that if it doesn't happen, it won't be because of this.

I think they'll add some restrictions (and send the press release out to everyone of course), but I have no idea what they'll come up with.

I remember that ahahahahah.

How about this...
They slip by with a stern talking too. The merger fails. The doggie company runs out of money and goes under. Xm is the only Sat Radio company left. O&A win in the end!

Say what you want, but the homeless guy was actually pretty funny. He was just trying to say some fucked up shit so the boys would throw some cash at him.

I think that after this blows over we will see more subs for XM and the boys will be even more of a media magnet then ever before.

I think the it broke on a Thursday helps. Weekends are tough times to keep a story running strong. If this broke on a Monday, I think it would've been worse. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed. At least the story is off of Drudge again. Luckily some mother sold her teenage girl for $3,000, and a calf was born with two noses. (I shit you not).

This would have been a great opportunity to draw a line in the sand and show the taboid media that the boys are not gonna apologize for the content of their show as performers. If the show is getting the ratings in their demos on the CBS side, they will have sponsers and we already know 202 is the 1# channel on XM.
