...but David Hinckley isn't thrilled about it.
'Opie' shows will live to nauseate again (http://www.nydailynews.com/gossip/2007/05/12/2007-05-12_opie_shows_will_live_to_nauseate_again.html)

Shock jocks Opie and Anthony appear to have weathered the storm.
Two days after the foul-mouthed radio hosts reveled in a homeless guest's musings on ****** Condoleezza Rice, Laura Bush and Queen Elizabeth, officials from both CBS Radio and XM Satellite Radio said the controversial pair will be on the air Monday.
The announcement came after the bad-boy deejays held unusually tame shows on WFNY (92.3 FM) and then later on XM, during which they apologized a second time for the outrageous bit.
"We're taking what happened very, very seriously," a resigned Opie (aka Gregg Hughes) said.
The brouhaha erupted on Wednesday when a guest the shock jocks call "Homeless Charlie" said on their satellite radio show that he'd "love to f--- that b----" after each of the prominent women's names was brought up.
The crude proclamation drew laughter from Opie and Anthony, whose full name is Anthony Cumia, as they ruminated on the "the horror" Rice would feel as she was held down and assaulted by a homeless man.
Officials from CBS Radio and XM yesterday declined to say if any penalties would be imposed against the pair or if they would rein in their show.
Media expert Robert Thompson, a professor at Syracuse University, said the controversy illustrates the delicate balancing act shock jocks must maintain.
But this might not be good news:
The Rev. Al Sharpton, who called the stunt "ugly and outrageous," said he would meet with his associates today to discuss whether they'll call for Opie and Anthony's firing.

i just read that on google... this is just what sharpton would use to get the attention off his back after the comments he made this week that put him in a little hot water. question is, will someone stand up to him in through the media and call him out on his remarks, or will everyone just stand by and let him gain momentum over the next few days and take down another radio show?
i'm getting angry. i don't like getting angry.

Sharpton hate Rice and is still trying to recover from his comments about Mormons... Plus since Charlie said it about Rice AND Laura Bush, he can't cry race... Plus it is Sharpton and his good friends who have made comments about Rice not being 'black enough'
People are tired of Shartpon right now. He is bluffing

Plus he knows ONA wouldn't give him the air time like Imus did. Ant will throw Tawana Brawly in his face so fucking fast and hard, along with the rest of the skeletons this fat fuck carries in his closet.

Why is Al Sharpton our moral compass?
Shouldn't a Ph. D or a person who has done research on the topic of free speech and media speak out on firings instead of him? I hate these talking heads who get on a show to push their name and agenda. Just once I want one of them to see the other side of this issue and finally realized that they are actually hurting our society.

I just heard on FoxNews that there are 2 Americans being held against their will in Iran. Why are they wasting time on the O&A story? It seems to me that there are bigger things going on in the world that need to be covered more thoroughly than what some half-drunk bum said on a radio show.

Sharpton should watch out with his supporters if he's going to try and get O&A fired for allowing a black man freedom of speech on their show.

I hope OA really open the floodgates on the media in an intelligent fashion.
There are fires in Cali, war in Iraq, soldier's being killed in a war that is meaningless at this point, captured soldiers, republican statesmen moving far from the president... and a comment from a homeless guy on unregulated radio is even brought up? This needs to be brought up, called out and the media needs to be shit on.

Sharpton is entering the "Spin Zone" ::lasers:: by saying that the Boys were taking advantage of a poor black man by giving him money and food.
So he's got his bases covered with his supporters.
He's just trying to get the news off his ass since the Romney comment.

I have a distinct feeling that this isn't over... and I know that we all agree...
Here's the thing. I think that the boys will give Al a run for his money. Imus was simply hoping to keep his jobs. O&A aren't going out like that. They know apoligies mean nothing. As Anthony has said before "there will be NO apoligy tour for us when our day comes".
I have more faith now in the situation than I did yesterday at 10:30am that is for certain. I think this will go away and the show will continue... but not before one hell of a battle between that boys and these phonies.

This shit will blow over and the boys will be fine. No particular group was offended and the statement was made by a fine negro gentleman about an uppity negress. Just let the talking heads get their licks in and everything will go back to normal.

This is fucking stupid. I'm with that guy; which group EXACTLY is offended here? She's a public figure. They ALL are. People will say some wild shit about them from time to time.
