I know it sounds crazy, and of course I wish that the media would have never called attention to the hilarious Homeless Charlie comments. However, this could be a blessing in disguise. Many media outlets will be reporting on what O and A have to say on Monday. They could use this opportunity to really point out the hypocrisies of the media, and they could really educate the people on the true content of Al Sharpton's and Jesse Jackson's (lack of) character.
This is also an opportunity to let the fans voice their opinions and let the public truly know that all of these hypocritical, holier-than-thou noisemakers are in the minority. It's time for O and A and their fans to show the world how intelligent and clever they can be.

I hope you're right, but doubt the media will report fairly if the content of Monday's show points out their own hypocrisies and makes them look bad.

Unfortunately, you are correct sir. Hopefully someone out their will take a fair stance on it. I never thought that I would say this a couple of years ago, but God bless Sean Hannity.

Do you think that's a possibility or do you think that we will have another show like Friday's?
Don't get me wrong, dancing around that topic had to be the most hilarious thing that day.

I think Friday's show was a combination of feeling sick over being forced to apologize on XM's behalf and a bit of a hangover. I still thought they did well though. And yes, I would've fucked my 1st cousin when I was a teenager. :icon_mrgr

Discuss (http://www.nydailynews.com/gossip/2007/05/12/2007-05-12_opie_shows_will_live_to_nauseate_again.html#dis cuss) Shock jocks Opie and Anthony appear to have weathered the storm.
Two days after the foul-mouthed radio hosts reveled in a homeless guest's musings on ****** Condoleezza Rice, Laura Bush and Queen Elizabeth, officials from both CBS Radio and XM Satellite Radio said the controversial pair will be on the air Monday.
The announcement came after the bad-boy deejays held unusually tame shows on WFNY (92.3 FM) and then later on XM, during which they apologized a second time for the outrageous bit.
"We're taking what happened very, very seriously," a resigned Opie (aka Gregg Hughes) said.
The brouhaha erupted on Wednesday when a guest the shock jocks call "Homeless Charlie" said on their satellite radio show that he'd "love to f--- that b----" after each of the prominent women's names was brought up.
The crude proclamation drew laughter from Opie and Anthony, whose full name is Anthony Cumia, as they ruminated on the "the horror" Rice would feel as she was held down and assaulted by a homeless man.
Officials from CBS Radio and XM yesterday declined to say if any penalties would be imposed against the pair or if they would rein in their show.
Media expert Robert Thompson, a professor at Syracuse University, said the controversy illustrates the delicate balancing act shock jocks must maintain.
The Rev. Al Sharpton, who called the stunt "ugly and outrageous," said he would meet with his associates today to discuss whether they'll call for Opie and Anthony's firing.

Hopefully this will start a backlash against the Rev. Al's out there for being such pussies whenever somebody makes an off-color comment and they start their blah-blah-blahing to the media.

Yeah... Jimmy's line about the terrorist Mickey Mouse was awesome.

It could also be a blessing in disguise in a seperate manner. I live in DC and have been constantly trying to tell people that they need to get XM because O&A are the fucking greatest thing on radio. Most of them have started listening to JFK and enjoy the boys but not enough to where they will go out and buy the Sat Rad unit.
I sent them the link of the audio to them and to a man all of them wrote back saying that was some of the funniest radio they have ever heard and did not know that was the type of shit that went on during the XM show.
A Stern fan on another message board I go to wrote that he thought this was all a publicity stunt on O&A's part to get people to talk about them. I laughed at first and thought that was one of the stupidest comments I have ever heard, especially based on the way they did the show yesterday.
All though now whether it was intentional or not it could turn out to be the best commercial they have had for XM yet. Of course only if it kind of just goes away over the next couple of days and they don't get fired.

Yeah, they're in the news all over the place. They are the new big name 'shock jocks'. It's the type of thing where if you don't get fired or have your hands completely tied (ala Don and Mike) you wind up bigger than before.
