Opie and Anthony: Wednesday was a dark day for the XM Satellite Radio shock jocks, thanks to a bit with Homeless Charlie. And once again, the Internet played a key role, as the offensive clip was downloaded from the subscriber service to open realm of the World Wide WTF? The duo apologized on-air yesterday for Charlie's crude fantasies involving Condoleezza Rice, Laura Bush and Queen Elizabeth, but the scuttlebutt in some circles is that this "Opie & Anthony Show" could put a Washington regulation damper on the "XM & Sirius Show." First Imus, now these guys; they're really making it way too easy for Howard Stern to remain the King of All Media.

Your comments that O&A are losers is just plain wrong and agenda driven. If you are one of the few remaining Stern listeners don't attack just for the sake of attack. You obviously enjoy a jock who semi-retired and that's fine except don't spew your agenda driven comments on the web. Howard has not been the King of anything except retirement and over-inflated salary for some time. He gets little to no press and has even less listeners. In fact, his salary and non-draw is a good part of the reason why the doggie company is struggling and needs to merge with XM. If you were really offended by a homeless person, do something about it and form an organization that could help them. O & A help the homeless each year. Do you? You took the low road and further reported a story that has done nothing but increase awareness of O&A to areas of the country that may not be familiar with them. Anyone who reads you story will only scoff; since it is clear that you are not a fan and that's fine. However, to mention a person in the same article who preaches freedom of speech and then makes moves to censor other talent is pothetic. Howard was extremely popular and funny in the 80's and 90's. I was his biggest fan, but when he began losing his sense of humor and the show became unfunny, many left including his biggest fan. Now he decided to retire aand that's fine too. Most of his fans agree it was time, as they either stayed with FM or moved to XM not the doggie company. The FM'ers now listen to O&A and that kills those who spent money to listen Howard on a poor platform. I am sorry for your misfortune but do not attack a show that you would be listening to if you did not go to the doggie company. By the way, it was O&A who dicovered satelite first and O&A who pioneered sat/terestrial broadcasting - not Howard. I guess we just have to agree to disagree.
