I’m all for fighting against anyone who tries to get O&A fired. That said, I also think the pests are doing more damage right now than any special interest group.
Let’s say a nosy neighbor sees me driving a little fast through the neighborhood. They start telling others in the neighborhood. I don’t start calling the police, judges, and the mayor to argue my case. I take it up with anyone who has already heard about the situation.
Imus didn’t loose sponsors because the news story was so big. He lost sponsors because Al Sharpton asked members of The National Action Network to contact the sponsors and make them believe it would hurt them to continue sponsoring the show.
So far, I’ve seen people say stop contacting the higher ups at CBS. They didn’t know about this until we contacted them. I’ve also heard comments about emails received back from the sponsors. Are there any groups that plan on contacting sponsors to complain, or are the Pests just making more and more people aware of the situation?
I personally am going to join as many special interest groups as possible to monitor what if anything they plan on doing. If they tell their members to write to the sponsors I’ll help write to those same sponsors with a pro-free speech view and make as many pest groups as possible aware of what those groups are planning.
I also hope that the peopleagainstcensorship.com (http://peopleagainstcensorship.com) will continue to fight against every special interest group that goes after anyone who uses someone’s differences in a joke (i.e. race, religion, intelligence, cleft pallet, or burn victim.)
One last idea I’ve had is to obtain a copy of The National Action Network’s public financial records (and whatever group got JV and Elvis fired) and contact their sponsors about supporting groups that are fighting against free speech.

Well at this point it sure as hell isn't CBS or XM.
To be honest you guys just setting the news straight on the fact of this has been a godsend. The way everyone chimmed in on email during the Sheperd Smith show really helped. The news needs to be held accountable for the facts and context of those facts. You guys are doing a great job of that.

I don't agree that the fans are making it worse, but that part is brilliant.

i know where your coming from but you can't possibly think that CBS wouldn't have heard about this if we didn't email them. better that they heard about it from supportive fans than from disgusted media outlets.

Isn't it great to know that our boys appreciate us as much as we do them. One thing is for sure no other shows fans would do for them what we do for O and A and our little meaty breasted Jimmy.

Don't you feel silly?
No, he's commenting about contacting a news group that is reporting about this, not a news group that doesn't know about this situation.

its better to get out infront of something like this. if that means that some people get some extra emails in their box so be it. It shows their is passion for what we are fighting for. but i do also agree with your point about embedding in those special interest groups.

What's the alternative? To shut up and trust the media to do some balanced reporting? Trust sponsors to not be cowards? Trust CBS and XM to not buckle under even the slightest pressure?

the point is to get the word out that its not offensive even if we have to let people know about it that otherwize would not know. its about awareness for our cause. so in my opinion i want the world to know about it just so we can show them why its wrong and prove that their is a huge base of people in america that dont agree with all this PC bullshit.

Well seeing as how yesterday it was on O'Reilly, Hannity, the cunt from CNN, Drudge, you know those little news outlets nobody's ever heard of, I can't imagine a news group being so shitty that they haven't heard about this yet. Let me know if you can think of one.

I'm not saying we should stop contacting people who are reporting on this. I'm saying that contacting sponsors right now might be a little too pre-emptive.

not if your contacting sponsers and telling them not to fold. if they dont hear anything from our side it makes it that much easier for them to make a knee jerk descision.

If the boys were to get fired from FM and XM, would you be willing to pay for a subscription based daily broadcast on something like Paltalk, I know I would.

Yeah, I think that ship has sailed, especially since they were on CNN's front page from early last night to about noon today.
Another way to look at it is we've been fed up with this shit ever since Imus, we need this movement to grow. It's not an isolated incident, it's a whole shitstorm that's been going on for a month or two.

We have one advantage over Imus and JV & Elvis.
A dedicated ACTIVE fanbase.
To not use this advantage would be really stupid.
The media outlets are more easily manipulated than you would think. They're very very lazy.
Never give up.

I would pay for something I could download and listen to on my own schedule. Much of my O&A listening is done during replays.

Well, Ant's post said it all, but this is what was missing during S4S. Their fan base being motivated, mobilized and knowing what to do in such an event. This is something that is far more important than any of the show attacks that have happened in the past. Those were just a warm up for something like this.

Yeah. We're using almost 25% less cock pics and saying the word "cunt" an average of only 1.72 times per sentence.

Is there a single solidified movement where we can all sign up and be members of with true power to push back against these corporate pussies? We are just one group of fans in support of a radio show. How do we let people know that we believe all speech should be protected and we will support whoever get in trouble for what they say? I used to think just being an American was enough but this has completely changed. Its time to fight back.
